    By name draft

Just by name alone. Alex Leatherwood. OL Leather on wood for OL. Really Sage Surratt. WR Who doesn't like sage? Hunter Long. TE. Love someone who can hit a target from long range. Amon-Ra St. Brown. WR A great Egyptian name with a Christian last name. Tommy Tremble. TE Great name for a knock down blocking TE Stone Forsythe. OL. Stone really? Chuba Hulbbard RB. Not since the fridge.
  2. How hard would that be to root for the hated one to beat the hated ones.
  3. Would make the draft weekend at least somewhat of a success no matter who the Bears pick. But no. way they would him trade to an NFC team. Especially the Niners. Only to have him kick their asses the next few years in the playoffs.
  4. I have no idea. I was just saying that there must be newer thoughts. I'm listening to GM shuffle with Lombardi. Yea, I know he's the most dissed commenter but he makes some great points. One I found funny but true. Some of what he wanted his scouts to look for. Can he play golf , does he have eye-hand coordination, the hardest worker in the locker room, how does he watch film (alone or with a coach right after the game etc), how does he take criticism, how smart is he, not always the wonder lick, and a lot more. He also agrees with Simms who looks more at mechanics than just how the ball is flying down the the field. He uses a point saying how a golf coach looks at a pro golfer drive 350 yards at the practice tee and most fans would say GEES. The coach says this is not sustainable, need to change this and that. Im just a ignorant fan who has no idea how to judge talent or what to even look for. Yea, I spend way to much time reading NFL stuff, just ask my wife, now that I'm retired. I have opinions of course and think I know more that I do. I am after all the two time defending FF champion of the sudsoakers FF league. Which has been in around for 30 years. All of us worked or still do for the same PO. Most retired. I've only been there for five or six on and off but have know them all for over 30 years. And ARob and Montgomery where two of my best players this ;year. Always pick the only options on offense even when on bad teams to fill out your roster.
  5. "Seems to me", sounds like a great hook for a RnR song.
  6. When did Parcells use this criteria, 20 years ago? Not saying he does not make some good points but different college and NFL now.
  7. I enjoy listening to him on PFT in the mornings. He's growing into someone who seems to have some great understanding of QB play. Ill take his opinion of QB play that most others. I do think Jones is going to be an above average QB. Don't care who he was throwing to. his line, etc. He still made plays and put the ball where it needed to be. 77% of the time. Thats pretty damn good for a young man.
  8. Can't agree more. The get a know stud. And a 2nd for a third.. The rest doesn't really matter

    Mongo

Mongo diagnosed with ALS. Watched a tweet from Jared Payton. Almost did not recognize. Life can. be harsh.
  11. One tough son of a bitch young man to reveal that. I can't believe how hard that must of been. He must have great control and medical protocols to keep under control. To have never been publicly reveled before. I have no idea how humans respond to or control such a thing. We have a dog that suffers from the same condition. We're happy to go a month and a half with out a seizure. First one came a week after we picked her up from the rescue group. Thought she was dying and we had some how poisoned her. It's a daily battle to try and prevent the next one. But as my wife says she is our forever dog. I only hope for the best for him but his draft stock seems tough to not go down.
  12. I might try and get a fourth back also this year just because. But yes. it leaves us with all our other picks and a good chance to fill in needs this year and next. But it also gives me hope which I don't have now. If we don't get a QB this year why will next year be any better

    Goodwin

My dad said that every year from the 70's till his death in 87. Just throw the damn ball deep a few times a game whether you have anyone who who can catch it or not.

    Goodwin

The bears signed Goodwin. Another case of Pace signing players that allow him to build the roster and draft not just out of need?
  15. like it or not. There is a battle going on between the NFL and the NFLPA. They both are positioning for future years after covid. Almost all players should be able to get shots sooner than later so I don't believe that is the only reason. I think they want to eliminate the whole OTA schedule going forward. And as far as Pace is concerned he is here for at least a year and I believe more no matter what.
  16. Ive heard that also. But why would the Ravens trade Brown, an above average tackle, for a soon to be released WR with out some serious draft compensation?

    Mock Drafts

Just the first two picks would make me giddy. The others are just icing on the cake.

    Mock Drafts

Ill pay for your ticket to Chicago for the weekend of the draft. We can kidnap Pace and Nagy and have a shot at it
  19. OT OT QB WR, don't care after that.
  20. I understand looking at things from a value sense. Or using analictis (ms). What was the value of Holmes, Watson. etc. They don't have a pick to get a Burro. Lawrence or Wilson type layer in this draft. Sorry, but sometimes you just have to swing for the fence. They just might be the guy.. Again, throw couple of future pics.. Our first and next years 1'st. Throw that shit. They are never going to find a QB in later rounds. Round one or two . Can throw later pick but will only be a backup

    Draft settling in

Yea I know. Should be easier to find a HOF tackle then QB. But who is worth more in todays game?
  22. Bill

    Draft settling in

So just a thought. What would you rather have for the next ten years. A hall of fame QB or left tackle?
  23. In other word, if you don't take a shot, you'r never going to hit the bulls eye. Plain and simple. Would I have been ok with doing the same deal for Darnold? Yes. It's like having a monkey throwing shit to see it hits the wall and it sticks. More times than not , no. But based on this teams history, it's better than what than anything they have doing for the last 100 years. They could of drafted 100 QB's in the last 100 years, and I believe they would of found one. We didn't see value, not fitting our scheme , nada, nada, just throw the shit.
  24. In the last 20 years only 3-4 QB's taken in rounds after the first have won a Super Bowl. Why keep trying to find a project in later rounds and not spend a little for someone in the first. I am all for waiting till the 2nd but I see no path in waiting for the 4=5=6 and hope we find the next franchise QB. Just does not seem to work. Brad Johnson seems to be the last average QB to win a Super Bowl. but he had the number 1 defense or close to it. Don't mortgage the future but even Trubisky did not break the bank. Just the team. It's not 85 anymore.
