  1. So the jets traded for Darnold. Is Bridgewater too expensive to keep now?. And does that put eight into play? If one of the top five is available at eight should the Bears offer Foles and picks for the pick? Foles would be a good backup for Darnold who should be given the starting job. Unless they are doing a total QB reset and see Darnold as a backup. High price to pay though.
  2. Sorry can get font right. but the most stunning quote. .The 102 receptions were the sixth most in the NFL last year and tied for the second most in Bears history. Robinson was one of only five players in the league with at least 102 catches, 1,250 yards and six TDs, joining the Bills' Stefon Diggs, the Cardinals' DeAndre Hopkins, the Packers' Davante Adams and the Chiefs' Travis Kelce. And he had Foles and Mitch trowing him the ball!!!

    Mock Drafts

Not a mock draft person. but I believe we need QB, OT. CB, WR/Playmaker on offense in that order. Non of the top five QB's will be there at 20. So I hope they pick the best OT available. Not a guard/center. I think they have that set for now. A true tackle who is plug and play from day one. There has to be one who will fall to 20. Best case would be if another falls to 52. The Off line would be set for a decade. The rest of the draft fill in the picks with BPA at positions of need. They still need to draft a QB somewhere. They don't just need a starter but they also need a long term backup. I think LB, edge, RB are serviceable till next draft.
  4. Was in SF a long time ago. Just happened to be walking down a street and lo and behold here was this Bears Bar. Was just looking for a place to step in and check the scores. Had to stop in and have a beer at the end of the game. Great time and very surprised .
  5. I thought after 2018 they had all the pieces pretty much. 2019 showed to me that the QB was not going to work, 2020 I had some hope with Foles at least providing some comp. and good back-up. The team seemed to be good but no depth at important positions and a suspect OF line. My first choice this year would be start building the OF and DEF lines. A few playmakers on Off. and some back field depth. Don't trade up for a QB unless one of the top five fall to around 15. Maybe in 2nd or third. I do believe pace has done a good job filling in the roster before the draft. And I'm perfectly willing to go with Dalton and Foles this year if they draft a rookie qb mid rounds not 6th or 7th. All in all I think this team is better now than last year. And I don't buy that pace has to get the QB set to stay on mindset. Not in just one year with not much to work with. I think Pace has a better shot of staying by rebuilding the roster this year in the draft. Then selling the farm to get Wilson or a rookie. But what do I know. I'm just an old retired fart who would to see a QB like Wilson on the bars before I die. Even if the team still ends up with the same record. Would be nice to see great QB play once. Have watched lots of great D.
  6. You can't go back and say what if. Trubisky was a mistake. Foles was not the fix. Next year we will say Dalton isn't. You just have to play the hand dealt. Pace put us in a hole and it will take a few years to dig out. You shoot for the stars and when you miss sometimes the rocket comes back and kicks your ass Is this staff the one to fix. Most likely not
  7. As an old curmudgeon I don't understand why a high profile professional athlete needs to go thru more than 25 massage therapists. No matter what your requests are. Stick your hand in the fire and soon it will get burned. Every high profile pro cycling team has more than a few. And they will also carry your PED's for you it seems
  8. Can't believe the Bears did not ofter him the same type contract. The Broncos just sent 20 mil for a corner and extend one of their safetys.. Guess Fangio knows how to build a DF.
  9. If Trubisky doesn't get on the field or wow the coaching staff it's hard to believe he gets anything better in the coming years.Your correct in saying that's not even back=up money. I bet Glennon got more.
  10. And in good news A. Harris of the viking has signed with Eagles.
  11. I'll say it again and again. No way do they fire either this year. They have been given at least two years more
  12. I don't believe for minute that Pace and Nagy have only one year to fix this team. They have put themselves in a deep well and no way could anyone expect them to dig their way out in one year. Powers that be are willing to just sit and watch, get their increased revenue and wait till it just falls down or by some miracle turns around. Devine intervention because we now god is a Bears fan. How else did we get Walter Payton?
  13. I don't know what this portends for the future. The next seems to be Hicks. From my simple mind it seems tried to get a Fran. QB. Did not work. So now their doing everything to try again. Or maybe just doing the best they think they can to rebuild on the fly using what little they have after four years of mistakes
  14. A hard pill to swallow But we don't know if they tried to redo his contract and he just said no. Hope things work out for him. Puts him at the front of FA for corners with time to sign before draft.
  15. So the tires ran over the Bears?
  16. What if they were told they have more than one year. Find pieces in the draft for tackle, wr, rb, db pieces that they know they need. Then they let them wait till next year to focus on the QB position. Wilson will be ready to go, maybe Watson. They have a full set of draft picks to work with along with future picks and the cap going up. I just don't see anything they could of done this year alone that would of made a real contender. Im trying to hang on to any thread of hope that things turn around before it's to late for me
  17. All things considered really how bad is this. Never going to get Watson or Wilson. All the free agent QB's could be put in a hat and pick out one. I would off rather had Dalton. But how many of the shite rumors were real? To me a milk toast choice but stills allow them to perhaps rebuild the off line and other offensive weapons going forward. I don't see them doing anything else before draft. I know I don't want to see pace say our plan worked we're set and happy!!!
  18. To me, keep what we have, and keep drafting for the next 2-3 years. Fill in spots with low end free agents. Do what the Jets and Jags have done. Get multiple picks in first and 2nd rounds etc. And be 50 mil under the cap Make all the other teams come to us. RIP Marvelous Marvin Hagler
  19. Bill

    Cap is $182.5M

I also read that the Bears had 6-7 million carry over from last year. Don't remember where or who.
  20. One of my favorite Bears the last years. Always looked like he enjoyed just playing the game. All good things must come to pass
