  1. I don't understand why some would want to keep Trubisky. first I don't think he wants to return. He can get more from other teams than we can pay. We all know what his ceiling is. And I don't see reason for taking a free agent like Prescott that would break the bank and then to mortgage the future and get rid of a lot of good players. Swing for the fences in the draft but not with trading up. Better than trying again swing for FA's. To keep Trubisky it will take more than he's worth. We still won't have a QB for the future, no cap space without cutting some good players. Re structuring contracts and pay them down the road. Which has gotten us where they are today. Cut bait. Run with Foles for the next year or two and rebuild thru the draft. Cut some of the overpaid vets or try and trade them to get cap space and Picks. This team as is is not going anywhere for at least two years. Kicking the can down the road for Trubisky or any of the high priced free agents will just keep us where we are.
  2. In my option the season rests on this game. Win and they beat the most hated team and make the playoffs. Lose and they depend on someone else to help them and they limp in. Making the playoffs doesn't mean anything if they don't beat the Packers. . Only one outcome is positive and that's a win. Win or I hope they go home. And stating the obvious. This is why Rogers lives. Stick it to the Bears when it hurts the most.
  3. And to think three weeks ago everyone wanted everyone fired!
  4. Lots of things I would love to see before I die. Just don't think I will. " We’ve averaged at least one different starting QB per year since Bill Wade left the franchise in 1966. it’s not just scouting, coaching, or the lack of development around the QB. It’s all those things." From WCG a few days ago. Hard for me to get my brain around that and expect anything to ever change.
  5. I must of missed some of your posts. Seems like a long time since I have read one. Always agreed with draft OL,OL. Before anything else. Don't know about the old school stuff. Time to move on.
  6. Hugh? From my sad ass perspective I hope they lose out and dump the whole crew. Much as love watching th kick ass. Just have seen it for decades on, and on, and on..
  7. It's like watching two teams playing on the Titanic. The Bears just happened to be on the end that goes down last.
  8. If this was in the first four games of the season I could get excited. It was against a team that is far worse then the Bears. It only keeps the status quo for the next year or two. Mind numbing middle of the pack win.
  9. The man gave his heart, soul, and body for ten years, Made watching the Bears in the mid 70's and early 80's fun. No matter how bad they were. The entire 2nd half should of been focused on getting him TD
  10. The curse is from not getting Payton a Touchdown in the Super Bowl. A black mark on this franchise going forward forever.

    Fire Nagy

"There is no way he is back. " Just found that somewhat revealing. Has he ever been"there"? Just a whole team failure and time to move on no matter what direction. Reset and try again.

    Fire Nagy

So just watched the game on gamepass condensed version. So many plays left on the field. Not going to question any players or coaches. I will always say they bust their asses on every play. This team just does not have enough play makers Goes back to the GM Does it seem most of the catches from arob he's always falling down. . I don't think most of us will ever see a real franchise compete over multiple years.
  13. Watched a pregame show with Jimmy Mac. Then saw them talk about how Trubisky had learned and changed. On the side lines getting the team fired up. Then they win the toss and chose defer. Knew it was over!!!!
  14. And as my final post of the season. Won't be able to see anymore games. After the last four years of getting my heart ripped out every year at some point one has to say enough. T. Bray as the back up? How can any coaching staff except this? He knows the offense? Really, how does this pass as competent on any level? How do they get in front of any camera and spew the same old pablum? I'm with out hope for the first time in 50+ years!
  15. So T. Bray is now active, I guess as the first back up. Why after four years is he still on this team? He knows the offense and you could not find anyone better?!?!? What ,1-5 on pass attempts in reg season games?. Another stake in the heart of this whole f"d up coaching and management team.
  16. "We're back to the last 23 years of Packer football: the offense will score points, but can the defense manage to be merely average?" Read that on the Athletic from a Packers fan. Found it funny how we view our teams.
  17. So Trubisky is starting. Also saw Coward and Skrine are questionable. Not that I want anyone hurting but one can hope they need more time off. Hard for me to believe anyone else could be worse that is a profession.
  18. I agree with Mack traded next year. fuller is young enough to keep around a few years. Don't know about Quinn. And this is a three year process so 22-23 trade or cut and move on. For the return on investment Mack and Quinn were a bad choice. But hind sight is always better than taking a chance. I just don't see this team doing anything if all they do is chip add a few good draft picks over the next years.
  19. I had a post similar to yours all typed in last night. This team is in need of a total rebuild. My only changes would be to trade or cut almost anyone over 25 or not on a rookie contract. Even if you have to eat some cap. They can't be much over 30 in three years. I figure this rebuild will take three years. Hopefully you have at least one or two drafts just like the 83 draft. Also don't sign or offer a max deal for anyone on till you have the QB set, without a doubt. Two years of good play. JJ Watt, Donald, Mack and a bunch of other top paid Defensive players have gotten their teams how many SB's. The Bears in the late 80's and early 90's only won one SB because they could never get the QB position right after McMann kept getting hurt. And as you have said, build from the inside out on both sides. But if the right QB is available, in any round, you have to take a chance and do so every year. If you hit on more than one they are money in the bank
  20. Watching the first half of the game last night I could not think about the Mack trade. And I thought at the time it was the cherry on the top. With a TV gm and a TV coach I think they are doing a good job but just a dig. Two teams with two different processes each seem to be heading in different directions. I like the way Mayock has built their team.
  21. Good story on what I think they should do going forward. And Kiser just signed with Titans PS, no worry there, unless the Bears put him on the 53. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2020/11/21/21585518/keys-for-the-chicago-bears-to-finish-the-2020-season-mitch-trubisky-lazor-nagy-whitehair-cole-kmet

    Playoff Race

I'm not a fan of tanking and don't think it happens much in football. Tough for me to see any of the players on this team just quit. I think most of the players and coaches on the Bears are to high of character people. The're putting the careers on the line thru injury and bad tape for future teams and contracts. And coaches unless they are a lame duck and know already that they will be gone don't want to give anyone a chance to fire them. Now, if things hit the fan. Oh wait the already have. I would love to see them play more of the backups to see what they have going forward. But I don't think Nagy or pace would do that unless they know they will be here next year. As one coach said "you play to win the games".
  23. Glad you choose not to put your self into depression watching that game again. So Mitch has some unknow shoulder injury from one play. Foles is carted off the field and now they think he's better than first thought. Maybe they both realize that six more games behind this line and coaching staff will either get them killed our out of the league. And after five years and only a few snaps in preseason why is Bray on the team. He knows the offense and you've never given him and real game experience in reg. season? Why would anyone want to see this team win any more games and keep both Pace and Nagy try and patch this team for next year. It just does not make sense to me.
