  1. "QBing is like Calculus, either you get it or you don't. If you don't, you can still work thru the problems and sometimes get the right answer, but it is really tough." I must disagree. I have always been math challenged. Geometry was easy. Shapes etc.. In JR. high I thought ok ill take algebra 1-2-3 and calculus in High School. My Algebra two teacher and I came to an agreement. If I promised not to take anymore math classes he would pass me for the term. Somethings you just can't but your mind around and I think that is where Mitch is. I as always hope I'm wrong.
  2. Have no idea. But how do you bench someone who already has a problem with hims self confidence. From what I've read. MT is the only long term answer on this team right now. Bench him and I don't see him coming back. We know the upside of Foles off the bench and also know how he has done as a starter.. But Back to my first sentence. What do I know... At this point I don't want either.

    Training camp over

God bless and good luck on your surgery tomorrow.
  4. So camp is over and for all intents and purposes the season starts on Sat. My question is who will be named the QB? “It’s not easy. It’s not clear cut. We feel really good about both of them,” Nagy said today from Halas Hall. He also said that the entire organization is pleased with both quarterbacks. I know that is coach speak but I have not read or heard anything that is inspiring. And I was all in on trading for Foles in the middle of last season. So I think they go with MT and give him 6 games to succeed or fail. If he does not reach .500 they have to pull him or Foles if that is who they choose. Next is the running back. "When asked about free agent Leonard Fournette, Nagy said they’re “very comfortable with where we’re at with our running back room.” I don't understand how they can be happy with the backs they have on the roster at this time. Unless they have a diamond in the rough with one or two of the other backs. Again, based on last year and what I've seen reported, it just doesn't seem like a strong group.. In my HO they just don't seem to have enough good backs to cover any injuries etc. As they would with perhaps Fournette, Montgomery, etc. Like the niners as an example. And bottom line is if they fail on one or both counts then they all need to be gone by end of season. I just don't have a lot of faith in the offense this year vs how good I felt at the start of last year. What say you?
  5. Next man up. Opps Thats Cohen. Time to check the free agents I guess or maybe the rookie is ready? Kinda doubt

    Covid-19 in 2020

Supposedly it was one lab out of NJ with all the false positives from around the league. So there is clearly a problem with that lab. I guess at worst it tested the league's policies and procedures when dealing with testing and positives. Maybe even a secret dry run? I also saw this report that the league has now completed over 100,000 tests and the positive rate is a fraction of 1%, which is very promising news: So they are pulling a Gruden?
  9. So have read many stories about all the incorrect test results for many teams yesterday. Nine, ten, 12. That has to but a team into WTF mode for awhile no matter how good you think you program is. And it also will show how well do they have a handle on things. Because there is a more than likely chance that will be a reality before the season is over. So I guess a good dry run to see how things were handled and what contingency plans are in place.
  10. As a 70 year old fart not that big of a thing. But for all the game playing, WWF loving, 20-30 somethings in pro sports it seems like a great thing to rev up the troops.
  11. Yea they gotta pick someone up before the reg. season.

    OL play

I have read many articles that said Daniels had problems reading his calls on the DL when playing center. Which was the main reason for him moving. Not a whole lot saying he could not physically play the position. Playing center would also allow him to have help from either guard and vice versos would allow hime to help from either side. But maybe I'm wrong. My question is why does the center have to make the calls. Why can't one of the guards do that like WH playing left guard with Daniels playing center. it can't be just seeing the alignment of the defense. Any of the guards or center would see that clearly. What am I missing

    Mitch

Just watched Foles interview on the same page. Just seems like someone who knows what it takes. I hate to diss Mitch but we'll see perhaps.

https://www.chicagobears.com/news/trubisky-well-equipped-to-battle-for-starting-job I'm not an expert on body language and speech. But I do play one on the internet. This just does not look like someone who is going to lead an NFL team anywhere.

Yes. My two favorites a long time ago was the Capri and Linos just up a few blocks. My dad worked in-between them and became friends with the owners and I always loved getting a carry out pie in the old paper bag that would sit on my lap on the way home. The smells I still remember. And how they would snap the bag to slide the pie in.

Taste of Chicago has mail order you can get some Malnati Deep dish and everything Italian Beef. From roles to gardenarie. Portillos and Vienna. Not cheep but quick service. I got mine in less that a week. We remodeled our Kitchen the last two months ourselves and ate a lot of take out. Turns out the mail order wasn't that much more expensive.

Sloppy wet so you need a bib to eat it. You bet. But I like to dip mine in the juice just before each bite so the bread is soaked but still has a little crunch. Gotta have the right bread. Just out of the oven, crispy but not heavy dense. The rolls that come with the kit work great because they need about five minutes of finishing cooking and are just perfect.

Born south of Chicago. Harvey- Evergreen Park area a long time ago. My dad was born and raised in Chicago. Worked at a pizza parlor at night till we moved in 56. Don't remember the name just that it was not deep dish but thin crispy crust. For years afterward our family and relatives would make him cook pies every year or two. Everything from scratch. Dough, sauce, sausage. He would spend the whole day in the kitchen working away. Just sitting here now eating a couple Italian Beef sandwiches from taste ofChicago. When done right my favorite sandwich. I make them myself but don't have a meat slicer. Needed to get the meat paper thin and still haven't found the right rolls in may area yet. For those of you who still have parents or relatives who cook things you love to eat. Take advantage of that time. It's never the same when you do it years later. And as far as the Italian Beef. Very wet of course and very good. Can't wait till tomorrow to have a couple more!

    Jamal Adams Trade

I agree. I don't understand the trading for a player in the last year or two of their contract without getting them signed long term like the Bears with Mack. I believe Adams has two years left on his rookie deal and they can still Fran. tag him correct?

    STFU

All day long I've read all this about sports and football in covid - 19. Was going to post a BS post about how I know better than everyone else. LOL. Bottom line is I hope all these people who make a lot more mula than me and run all these billion dollar sports leagues can get things to work. But I'm sorry, I just don't see it in todays world. Thats why the world is better off left to those who say they can vs those who say you can't.

    Jamal Adams Trade

Yes the Mack trade was done when we, or at least I and Pace, thought we had everything in place to make a multi year run. But a lot was given up. Seattle is only giving up two low first round picks but also an also starting safety, who I believe was not that bad. And my understanding is Adams will play a pivotal part in their defense, much like Mack in any. Time will only tell. In our case we were wrong about our QB being the player to allow us to build a team around a rookie contract. We have now spent more to correct that mistake and still don't know if we're on the right path. Again time will tell I do know I'm running out of time to get this DAMN QB position right.
  23. I read the story also. I could not find where it stated if that all happened this week or if it was during all the off season? I assume it's so far this year, which is not out of normal I think. I hope they have a season but I just don't see it the way things are going. And I have a vested interest in them playing. I'm current league campion of the sudsoakers league. We have been playing for over 25 years and I don't want to miss my chance to repeat.
  24. Gee, not trying to stir the pot but as an elderly person should I expect to be moved to a camp soon. I don't think my age group are the ones that are continuing to spread the virus. I haven't hugged my sons since my70 B-day on March 14th. And don't count your chickens before they hatch. Deaths my just start going up when the rosters come home to roost. Elderly sayings
  25. Roscoe that was it. So long ago I forgot.
