  1. You as well. Hope you get home to Machesney Park soon. I'm one of the few here who can say they have been there and often. Used to ride my bicycle thru there often on my way north. Lived in that little town, can't remember the name between Rockford and Beloit for awhile. And a long time in Rockford. Also rode to the county park in that area all the time to party.
  2. Would have to be great, great, great, grand kids. LMAO
  3. I was for trading for Foles in the middle of last year when he was replaced. All things considered I think he was the safe and best option this year. But they still need to turn over every rock and find that true QB. For a franchise that's 100 years old and had tons of chances to only have maybe one in history is mind bending.
  4. Ive watched Bears games since 63. Have seen some of the best D and the best def of all time. I have only watched one QB who I thought could carry a team when needed and he couldn't stay healthy. Hence only on SB in 54 years. When will that change and at least give us a QB who is not just a game manager but one who can take a game over?

    Ha Ha opps

https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2020/06/23/former-chicago-bears-safety-ha-ha-clinton-dix-had-close-encounter-with-two-live-bears/. Im sure most have seen this. But I have two questions. Where are there streets like that, is it his driveway? Car parked in middle, bicycles all over just leaning up. And what is a grown NFL player doing riding a kids scooter. Not a bicycle, skateboard. I little scooter.
  6. Thats all well an good. And I know this is simplistic. But here's the ball there's the QB now go get one. I personally down want to see Mac or Quinn dropping back to cover anyone more that maybe 5% of plays. How much did Dent or LT drop back? Just attack and Fup the play. Thank you

    Random info

all the coaches praise Shaheen until the real games start
  8. We can all have our different opinions on everything. My understanding of the NFL is that the restrictions put on by any state, AZ, IL, or CA. etc. is the basis of how they will play everywhere no matter what that state's rules are. Again as I have said before I don't see games this year with fans period.
  9. Death by inches. Sounds like the state of the world right now.

https://www.nfl.com/news/phyllis-george-female-sportscasting-pioneer-dies-at-70 One of the classy ones. She was more than just a beautiful face in the 70's. Just loved the broadcast teams they had in a lot of different itinerations. Howard, I. Cross, Dandy Don, Jimmy the Greek and a bunch of others. MNF and NFL Today was worth watching just to see the highlites of the games you could not see anywhere else. She was always one of my favorites, period.
  11. Agreed again. At least here in CA I don't see them opening up any stadiums until a vaccine is found. From the sound of things, if one state limits teams from doing something in sports, the rest of the league is going to follow suit for all teams. Just to keep things even. Sucks, I know, but that is the world we live in today. Everyone is not going to see things the same but the lowest common denominator will be the norm. And I don't mean to say lowest is somehow the correct or right thing or not. We just don't know at this time.
  12. Could not agree more. Just don't see thousands of fans sitting in any stadium be it basketball, baseball, soccer, football until a vaccine is found.
  13. I have banged the bell on OL for years. I don't care where other problems are, you need a steady pipe line of OL and DL players, always. "Much like with the Saints, the Bears' blocking scheme depends greatly on the strength of the inside trio. Tackles are not viewed as important." Said someone. We need more than vet min.cast offs. Some times you need a true kick ass player. Sadly we are cash strapped with more than one contract. And will be for the foreseeable future with Macks, Foles, and a few others. Can't keep kicking the can down the road and still build a team for the future.
  14. Yea, one of my all time favorite Bears Mike Brown. 5'10" 207. I will never forget watching those two back to back overtime wins and talking to my late aunt on the phone after each game and going crazy with her. Which reminds me of a story my mom, her sister, told me about an M.P. during WW2 who had all the wac's swooning at the PX. Untill he opened his mouth and talked in a high screechy voice just like M. Brown had. I'm sorry to get off the rails so many times, but that is one of the great joys of sports. It brings back so many great memories we share with all those we love in ours lives.
  15. Gees you've just won fan of the year award in my book. I hate using my phone for even answering phone calls. Small apple 5s. No way could I ever post etc with it. On another note. What is the difference between a 5'10" vs a 6' plus in the box safety. Isn't their main object to thump the line of scrimmage. And once in awhile covering a TE out of the backfield? Just seems that their have been more than a few short SS's in the league. And one of the highest rated in this draft is only 5'9" Just wondering and looking for a little education.

  17. The last three years has been a roller coaster ride. I have been so crazy one year and had my heart ripped out the next. I can't allow myself to believe this year will be much different than last year unless the OL and QB play is much better. I'm gotten old hoping the defense is going to win anything. It only did that once in almost 50 years. Just once I would love to see a QB be the best player on this team. God damn it, I want to see a league leading offense before I die. Based on the old saying, defense wins championships, we should of won at least two or three.

    Denmark to Safety

Is a hyperbole one of those new cooking thingy's I see on all those info adds on late night. Not a culinary term as far as I know.

    WHAT'S NEXT

Ok be nice. it's all like a death...We all have to go forth and learn.
  22. I don't know why you would not do the 5th year option if the only reason is losing a comp. Then choose the franchise tag, that will cost much more, if he does turn things around. Unless you already know your not keeping him past this year. Then why did you not do more to replace him not just bring in one option to light a fire under his ass. I agree it seems like they have made their mind up but that makes it even more confusing why they did not do a lot more to replace him. In both the draft and free agency. Hell bring in Winston. We know he can throw the ball. It would be at least different to bitch about a different problem. I know I ramble but more reasons why I'm sitting at home vs making million dollar choices.

    Denmark to Safety

All I know is that my board, more like a post it note, had OL before the 7th.

    WHAT'S NEXT

Whats next? Hopefully not months and months before we get any thing that even comes close to live real sports. Going to be a sad time for sports.
  25. Like I said, I'm hoping they see things I don't. But I don't understand why the line sucked so bad with H. Heistead as coach when he was supposed to be one of the great ones. I did read many places that said there was a big difference in scheme between all of the coaches so maybe they will all be on the same page this year.
