  1. Stats show only part of the story. In the SB JG out played Mahomes for all but 8 min. When the game was on the line Mahomes made plays while JG came up short. Yea there are a lot of problems on the Bears and not a lot of cap space or draft picks to fix. I for one thought we were only a player or two away. I quess we'll find out this year where we really are. I hope they know what is really a problem and what was just a bad year.

    Would You?...

Unless they know there is a lingering injure, as his ankle?

How does that make Mack respond if true. Egos are a tough thing to deal with at a pro level. And who would they pick with it. Another edge rusher. Or Tua. Both a far greater risk then the known. Why?

After both retired, Tunney asked Butkus about his zest for violence. " I always called him Richard. I asked him, ‘Richard, did you ever intentionally try to hurt somebody?’ “He said, ‘Nah, not unless it was in a game or something.’” From a story https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2019/12/12/21005035/fumble-pile-violence-nfl-stories Why I love watching football. Always viewed it as contact ballet. It's the grace of a WR or a running back. An OF line or DF player on one hand wanting to pile drive the other yet be so graceful as to just make them pound air. Such a violent yet graceful game. And then you add the chess like strategy.

    Khalil Mack

I agree. He did not seem able to over power or get under and around DE's as he did in 2018. Perhaps his ankle was still a problem. But he did not seem to dominate as he had in the past. I do however have a hard time believing most of the pros don't give the same effort from one year to the next. It's just no in the DNA of the great ones.

    LOL

But then maybe it makes sense.

One of the best laughs from a NFL trade story I've had in a long time. http://www.espn.com/espn/feature/story/_/id/28600904/predicting-2020-nfl-offseason-dominoes-eight-star-players-set-144-move-chaos
  9. So what do you really think about Leno.
  10. Not if he got his team to where Mahomes did time and time again! You can't say in one game what a season is. If were tired of hearing the draft story we have to be just as tired of hearing what if. If one is great or one sucks you can't compare. It is what it is. Change places and it might be the same, we don't know. I just don't see Mahomes sucking on this team or Mitch taking their team to the SB Poor attempt to say what I'm thinking. I can't express in words what my mind is thinking. Nor spell.
  11. Yes but he made the plays he had to when he had to. Three great throws that most QB's have trouble making against the best D in football. And he was able to move around to get time unlike Rogers in the NFC champ. Ten min left up by ten and they give up 21 points to a team that had not been playing good. Thats enough example for me to show how great is and will still become.
  12. What a difference a quarter makes. And they were talking about how poor Mahomes was playing. There is still no way in the world I would not pick Mahomes or Watson if the draft was redone. But it is what it is and I only hope they get thinks fixed next year. So much for D winning championships. Niners had the game in hand and could not close the deal.
  13. I think this SF def. could start making a claim for true greatness if they can keep Mahomes in check. Great def. don't lose SB's. As for KC I don't ever count them out anymore. I think it will be a slug fest. If KC gets out of the gate better than they have all post season it could make it tough. If the Niner's can keep it close in the first half and have their running game going it could be tough for KC to win. I think KC has the ability to come back on any team any time. Don't know if the Niners have shown that yet. If they can, we might be looking at a tough out for the next few years. I don't really care who wins. Living in Cali it can be tough lisening to Niners fans but will be well deserved if they win. Would like to see Reid win one. He might be running out of time with all the weights he's had on his body. Sorry, just can't be healthy with the stress of being a head coach. Would love to see a 21-17 KC win. Would keep me in the lead of the pool i'm in.
  14. "They'd want a team with a "fun" head coach. No winning at any cost like Belichick. Someone who liked to have dance parties when they win regular season games. Someone who was weak enough to dominate and do what they want." I'm not crazy about club dub but would love to see Gronk dancing around. Brady not so much. And I don't think this is just wishful thinking. They would become instant heros in Chicago if they were able to bring a SB back to Chicago

Well, I can say I'm back to eating at the big boy table again. But my back is still killing me.

    2nd Round Mocks

Gosh, I have just replaced my Mac with a PC after 20plus years and am lost on how to get to my old sites and such. I'm back on my Mac for now because I have all my log on info on the Mac. Still working on getting it all changed. Gotta laugh because my iMac is on this small dinner stand, the kind you used to eat TV dinners from. I'm crunched up like a little kid. Starting to cramp so I gotta leave. Sorry to bring that up on a sports board but what the hell.

OL and DL with the first two picks. You build from the inside out as someone always said. Best thru the draft but if not by any means possible.

Taylor Gabriel played for the Bears? I missed that game.

    HOF

Why of course it's the NFL's snub of anything Al Davis and or Raiders. Tuck rule, Stabler, Davis sued the NFL and lots of more things Raider Nation claims.
  20. Hard to keep close with KC receivers when they know Mahomes can reach them from anywhere, even if he's standing on his head. Rogers made a few throws last week that are just hard to believe the touch and accuracy he had. Things of beauty. Ugg I just throwed up in my mouth.
  21. My understand is Mitch has not gotten to the point of understanding def.schemes based on this off. Thats why he wants to be able to roll out to one side of the field and cut down his reads by half. The top QB's such as Brady. Rogers, Mahomes, and a few others know what the def. is trying to limit there off. When the def. has shut down his reads at the line of scrimmage he needs a great TE that allows him to bail. He doesn't seem to be able to confuse the def. and make them respond to him instead of vice versa. He locks onto his first or at most his 2nd read and that allow the Def to stop this off. He has all the tools and arm to make all the throws in the NFL he just doesn't understand how to win the mental scheme game. And like Mahomes, Rogers, and Watson he can't become a flag football QB. This off. doesn't have the weapons like they do nor does he have the baseball like throwing skills to make plays all over the field. He needs all the mechanics in order before he makes a throw. Perhaps this year he will become like Garopalo and be a good system QB and allow the running game and def help his short comings. I don't think he will ever be a QB that makes up for all that a def. takes away from him. Ramble on old man.
  22. We can only hope. Lots of stats and stuff. Read someones opinion that thought Mitch might of had too many voices in his head this year. KISS. That for me

    J. Covert and E. Sprinkle are new Bears in HOF. Great to see one of the OLineman from the 80's get in. But even I'm too young to have watched Sprinkle. And have no idea why my font is this way all of a sudden. But go Bears!
  24. Is that one of those bet a buck win a million prop bets?
  25. You can find draft projections that had one or another listed as this and that. 90% of all first round QB's end up as failures in the long run. Just a really pot shot. What are the chances that the two college QB's playing tonight in the national champ become great pros? Less than 50%
