    Club Drub

I could not agree more and have said so many times. Other than losing the locker room it looks the same. I also think that a coach and GM need three years to fully put their team together so I'm not ready to dump either till after next. But I think it's time to find a new QB sooner rather than later. Play him the rest of the year, were not going to get a better option now. But I also no long trust him no matter how well he plays. Maybe I'm wrong.
  2. Mitch reminds me of golf hackers like myself. You go to the range and hit balls and you just crush them. You go to the practice green and drain 20 footers. You get to the first tee and you have a couple of foursomes watching you, half dozen people on the porch of the club house watching. And what do you do. You hit ground burner or slice it onto the 18th fairway. You get on a green in two and think you have a chance for a birdie and at worse a par and then you three put the ten footer.
  3. Maybe all Mitch needs the the old Baseball fixer. Go get a slump buster and lock yourself in a hotel room for a few days.
  4. They gave up picks to move up one spot and draft a QB no one thought was worth it. They could of had the pick of the litter at three. Have given up picks for Saheen, Montgomery, Miller, on and on. All were thought at the time to be good moves by Pace. But players drafted at all the positions have proven to be better. The off line is missing only one starter this year. The D is under performing the past three games. And they have no picks to replace all the underperforming players. I don't see any player to build this team around except perhaps Mack and for such a poor performing team is he worth keeping? Can anyone show me where we go from here? We were only one player away when they traded for Mack? I feel like we've been sold a bill of goods from a huckster. We could not be any worse if we had not.
  5. "i think I remember watching those games in 1975. Yea but at least we had Payton to watch. I see nothing worth watching on off or D. And nothing to think it will change. They are on a downward spiral with nothing to stop it. Yea you could be a glass half full person. But that glass is filled with vinegar.
  6. So I checked the stats and it shows only five rushing attempts. They only had one possession in the first half?
  7. So I assume Montgomery is hurt to explain his only two rushing yards? Can't watch so just redone and on their web site.
  8. Now watch them come out and play a game like they did last year against the Bucs and tell all the naysayers like me to shut the hell up.
  9. I've lost confidence in this team this year. This is a game that I hope gives some back to me. Two tough def. teams with QB's that seem to be lacking in big play ability. I'm expecting short quick routes from the Bears. Let Mitch get rid of the ball quick to his first reads and set up the run. I don't believe we can just expect to run the ball without a passing game to open up their D. Lots of eight man fronts to confuse Mitch. Not a lot of blitzs from the Saints because I don't think they need to. The off. line needs to start working to in unison and move the line of scrimmage back to be on their heels like they were against the Raiders. I think the D will bounce back and it's going to be a ugly low scoring game. I hope Pineiro's knee is better. Also looking for Nagy to start getting some method of play calling that shows some reason. Not just all over the map. We need to find an identity on offense. 13-9 Bears
  10. Your all depressing me. I had high hopes that this team was loaded with talent. Funny how a few bad games can make a once up and coming roster look weak in all areas. It's like the 2nd year of Trestman but for different reasons. They have put all their eggs in the basket for the next two years. Debbie Downer
  11. Ok maybe eight to ten. Stafford, D. Jones, Wents, Garopolo, Wilson, Todd, Brisset, Darnold, Brees, Prescott. All would fit in the same window. Yea, I'm and old fool.
  12. "These guys are definitely better than Trubisky, but I didn't see that many wow plays like the media makes them out to be. I don't think Trubisky is that far off these guys as long as he has some consistent O-Line play. Hopefully that comes sooner than later." I have to greatly disagree. I just don't see Mitch making any plays like these two can. And most of all when their line play breaks down. He locks on to his receiver or just does not make the med range to long range pass with any consistency. He just does not have the command of the offense that Watson and Mahomes have at this point. I would swap either for Mitch. And maybe another dozen QB's in the league. I don't want to bash him. And of course I'm the last person anyone would ask to evaluate any of them. But I just have not seen anything that would of made me pick him above either in the draft. And that's before they were drafted. Someone would have to break down tape and their interviews to convince me he was a better prospect. But he's the Bears QB for the foreseeable future and I hope the light goes on and I'm wrong. Because I think it's all in his head. He has all the physical tools.
  13. Again for me the eye test. Montgomery seems to be getting hit at the LOS just like Howard was last year. The main difference between the two is Montgomery seems to fall forward and make something out of nothing. Jacobs is running behind a massive offense line. I like Montgomery for this team better than Howard but he needs the OF line to start opening some holes so he can get to the 2nd level. The same for Cohen, they can't always make something out of nothing.

    O-Line contracts

If you sign a player off one teams practice squad you have sign them to the 53 as I understand it.
  15. A chance to be on the 53 of a real Super Bowl contender. Or stay on the practice squad of a team that seems stuck in quick sand. What am I missing?

    O-Line contracts

I thought at the time that we had at the least a seviceable Oline for the next three years. It looks they were as wrong as I was. Perhaps Heisted can work things out but it is not looking good so fat this year. Long will be gone and it looks like Bars will be starting at least next year. And I'm sorry but Bar turned down a contract with New England to stay here. My understanding is if they sign someone off the practice squad they must but them on the 53. Maybe he's not as smart as I want an ofline player to be?

    Bye week grade

Just a dumb mans opinion. Offense- D No where do I see anything that I can hang my hat on going forward. QB play has been at best below average. One good quarter and the rest below average. I don't care about stats or other such things. The eye test is just sad. Neither Mitch nor Daniels look like they can lead a team to the playoffs or a long run once they get there. Being a game manager is just not good enough today. Sometimes you have to put the game on the QB and expect him to win the game. I have no faith in either of them doing that. The off. line is just horrible. Nothing more to say about the run game or passing game it all starts with the OL play and they have just sucked. Defense-B. They have had some good games but also have failed to stop teams from not just winning games but keeping them honest. Again I mean the eye test. The backs are just letting to many WR's run free. Mack is a one man recking crew. but that is the problem. He can't do it all by himself. And it seems he is being asked to do to much and runs out of gas in the fourth. Again in todays NFL just having a great defense is just not enough. The Raiders game is, I hope, a one off. But it seemed the coaching staff did nothing as the game went on to fix some of the problems. The put the defense on their heels and they never recovered. Special Teams-C- Only one play that stands out Coaching D- . Both on offense and defense. I just don't understand our game plans on both sides of the ball. They are 3-2 could be 4-1. Could be anything but they are playing and look like a 7-9 team that is going backwards not forward. And I'm not considering anything going forward. We don't have a bunch of draft picks. I thing our o-line is in shambles, our QB is more that just a question. And they need to start replacing some of the top players. The window seems to of gotten much smaller so far this year not bigger.

    Revenge

Mack. Two tackles, one fumble recovery, one QB hit, no sacks. All the hype of Mack getting revenge. Gruden must be smoking a big ol cigar on the flight back. And as many double, triple, and quad teams Mack gets every game, is it me or does he seem to fade in the fourth quarter?

    Smith back

The whole D were on their back foot from the first series. Oakland has a big tough offensive line and they just steamrolled the front seven. And there scheme kept everyone out of sync. Other than the great punch the only turn over was a horrible pitch from Carr. Nothing the defense did.
  20. This game reminds me of the bully on the beach. Their off. and def. lines just dominated and kicked sand in ours.
  21. Out muscled on defense. Did not thing I would see that. Out played, out schemed, out coached . Just an old fashion butt whipping. And this offense is going no where until they figure out what the hell the offense line is doing.
  22. Yes, I think you might be right. They used a different scheme that hides his weakness. And I'm in no way saying Im smart. But Fangio is 0-4. His two world class pass rushers were held to zero sacks till this week when they got five on a rookie QB
  23. Did it also make him faster so he can cover routes over the middle? Just wondering. He did play a great game Sunday.
