Not sure what's up. Dreams of being raped by 29 virgins to wannabe gm's. I thought everyone here thought they could be GM's.

Not in anyway equating my two hernia surgeries to what Burton has gone thru. And I'm sure Im not the only one here who has been thru this. Can't even think about the forces that are required in any pro sports. Just very painful for the six months before and more than two month after I had my 2nd surgery as a mailman lifting twisting. Playing a sport that requires such torque and strength. Not happening.

Break out season. For this team to get to he top it has to be Trubisky Stats, probowl all pro, TD's interceptions, does not matter. The only thing that does is did he lead this team to a victory in the SB. Anything less is a failed season. One of the greatest QB's ever to play the game always had the tag. Did not win a Super Bowl. And he only made it too one. Thats the only metric we should measure anything. As great as the 85 team was I have always been just as disappointed that they never made it back let alone win again.

Best I can tell only three maybe four players on the bears roster who might really be on the team at start of season are over 30.

Bears head coach Matt Nagy updated the progress of third-year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky on Wednesday, noting that, "Mitch is in and out of the huddle, he sees the defense, and from the time we've been out here it's exciting. OK, I know that is coach speak but it just seems funny. I would be really scared if he could not get in or out of the huddle and did not see the defense. Does someone point him in the right direction when he can't get in or out of the huddle or see the D? It's that way Mitch.

A good read for me of one persons opinion on how the Bears will use their running backs this season. https://www.windycitygridiron.com/2019/5/20/18616944/chicago-bears-the-myth-that-is-backfield-by-committee-david-montgomery-tarik-cohen-nfl-2019

who is Adam Rank?

Seems like these types of moves go on all offseason. With all teams. How many more will they make before it's training camp. What I wonder is without seeing them at some ota how do they evaluate the differences. Is most of it just done by their list of best player available so when one pops up they drop their low guy and just add the new one and wait an see how things work out. And are all the contracts they sign not really contracts. Seems they signed a few kickers and now are down to three. Showing my ignorance here.

We all have lost someone we love to cancer. My older brother in 1953 from leukemia when the only treatment was the mideaval practice of bleeding and my father for the same disease over 30 years later. Glad to see how much progress has been made over the years. Maybe just hype, but it seems to be this org. is now more than just a football team.

That is good stuff. Just a good story for all from Irsay to Nagy to anyone who took the time to get involved.

Seems to me most of the time picking a kicker is kinda like playing musical chairs. Hopefully he gets hot when he lands on yours.

Bears sign 22 UDFA's. I don't believe the Bears are the only team that does that at that great a number. Maybe it's time to create a UDFA league that is a non contact touch type league just to weed out the players. 99.9 percent of these players are never going to make an NFL roster. But there might be some who should but they just can't beat the number game. Then again maybe not.

"The difference between 4.5 and 4.6 is one yard of distance every 5 seconds. So a 4.5 player would take 5 seconds to make up one yard of distance if chasing a 4.6 player. In that time, the 4.6 player would have traveled 44 yards. So if the 4.6 player has a two yard lead, that's 88 yards." OK, I was told that math was not going to be used on this board.

Listened to draft coverage on ESPN radio during work today. One of the commentators was the former Miami GM so not sure if that's a good thing. But he gave a great commentary about the undrafted free agent players. They get a choice of teams and the teams are fighting for them he says it gets hot and heavy.

"i never watched any games with him in it. just from the highlights on espn this is what i thought to myself (never having heard his quotes about payton) is that he reminded me of payton's running style. it's the balance that really made me sit up straight. after taking a hit or moving through traffic the balance he displayed was very paytonistic." As blasphamous (sp) as that may sound I thought the same thing. He just seems to attack defenders and maintain his balance like Walter. And Walter was never a speed merchant. If he had been he would of set the record so far ahead no one would of ever broke it. And I believe Walter Payton was the greatest Football player of all time period. Not even close. So no I am not expecting this guy to ever reach that level but he just shows some never die. Was the pick the right one don't know at this time but he is now a Bear.

Found it ironic that the Raiders picked a running back with the pick they got from us. But Mack for two 24's. No need to debate that choice. Get a few digs in at work this morning.

Long time fan of his. Sorry to see someone my age die from something tragic as a car wreck. Had not heard of him for years since leaving the midwest over 30 years ago but did enjoy him when I heard him. Funny and sad how one can hear someones voice in their head. Kinda like the mouth. Morton Downey. Don't know where that came from. But both aird in Chicago at one time or another. Oh and another Dick Beondie. WLS. "The way women skirts are going they are going to have to part their hair in two places soon." Will that get me banned here like it got Beondie from WLS a long time ago. For those of you who never lived in the Chicago area I'm sorry for my old man rant.

Chicago Bears: Ha Ha Clinton-Dix has allowed a passer rating of just 52.9 on throws into his primary coverage since 2014, which is the best mark among all safeties in that time. Green Bay Packers: A staggering 47.1% of Adrian Amos‘ career targets have resulted in either a defensive stop or a forced incompletion. This defensive success rate is currently tied with Charles Woodson for the best mark by a safety in the PFF era. From PFF Why stats and how they are reported can give me a headache. Why not just compare the same stats in the same story?

We now have two Swiss Army knives. Hopefully they don't cancel each other out.

https://www.chicagobears.com/news/bears-area-scout-wins-prestigious-award Guys you seldom hear about and would not know him if he introduced himself to me, but are such an important part of building a great team. They help lay the foundation going forward. Pace just seems to be putting and keeping together a staff that may make this next ten years one of the all time great Bear teams. Just like Finks did in the late 70's early 80's IMHO Only time will tell.

I understand that you can compare records from those from his tree and same with Reid. But I think that no one will ever nor could of done what he has. I know I not explaining what I mean well. But he runs everything so well that it raises not only his players play but his coaches coaching. And when either leaves they just don't continue at that level no matter where they go. In other words he covers up so many shortcomings from all those he works with. He puts everyone in the best possible position to succeed. And maybe its the old line I taught you everything you know not everything I know.

No surprise but thrilled non the less. Living outside of the Chicago area always love it when the Bears get national attention.

Reminds me of the song we sang as kids. Regurgitate, regurgitate, we most throw up the food we ate. Vomit, vomit, V O M I T!!!
-
I'm sorry I almost throwed up just posting that.

God that would be a hard pill to swallow. The first time he did his head flip with his hair and put on his helmet I would regurgitate!!
