Not yet. But Cunningham is a straight ahead runner who is only reliable to not drop the ball. But he has no return pizzaz. Is he the best on the team or just the most reliable? He should not be allowed to take the ball out of the end zone ever.

Mahomes is just the cream of the crop at this time and I believe going into the future. Yea he has some great talent around hime but he gets them in and out of plays, he can do everything you want a QB to do. Long term I don't see any of the current QB's in the same class.

Again, I put this loss on Fangio. He does not seem to put any pressure on the QB for the 2nd game in a row. And I don't understand why you leave someone (Mack) who you can visibly see can't put any push on his ankle in the game when that is his game. Power rush and then moves off of that. And what has happened to the rest of the rush? With out a few blitzes, of which I don't believe they had more than a few, your not going to put pressure on anyone. Two QB's who are not leaving the pocket and they got one sack? Trubisky is such a question mark. Will he get over the hump or just be another teaser!!

I'm curious how everyone thinks the game plan to beat the pats should be for the bears? I think they need to run the ball and keep Brady off the field as much as possible. We can't beat them in a shoot out. Time to use Cohen, Cunningham, and Howard. Take advantage of our OL and attack their line and punish their def. and not try and be slick. Some quick passes to the tight ends. Not saying we should not be aggressive, but this should be a game where the run sets up the pass and stick to running before anything else. I don't think there is anyway we can beat them by out scoring them. But easier said than done.

Yea, not legal by Floyd, but the receiver just did not want to go down I don't blame him. And I think the play that was questionable was the one he was rushing and just seemed to flail at Brock and not touch him in my opinion. But did not get to see different angles

This game, from the beginning had the same feel for me when they played Miami in 85. Just one of those days when things don't synch up. Fumbles on goal line, tipped passes, and did we get a sack on the pocket QB I haven't looked at the stats?
-
I understand Mack tweaked his ankle but they seemed to use him in a different role. He seemed to drop back into coverage more and sometimes just stood up at the line of scrimmage . I don't remember him just rushing the passer but I know he did. If he was hurt that bad just let him rest.

I'm no expert on football, but on my TV I think Fangio was out coached this week. And I don't think they ever need another whole week off. I stream the games and sometimes its herky jerky but maybe this week its just was the way they played. Never seemed to be in control. Was Mack used in a completely different roll this week?
-
Well they did flex a game, just the wrong game next week.
-
So if my understanding is correct, tomorrow is the day the NFL can announce a change for the Bears vs Pats game to be moved to prime time Sunday night. Any chance they do?
-
Well do they take advantage of it? This season is sitting there for the taking! Living on the west coast I hear it every day how much the Raider fans are qrumpy about getting stuck with a low first round pick. LOL. Love it!
-
And you can't have two linebackers on the field at the same time who have been holding out all season and no preseason game time in a new defense. Things will change this week. Another thing to look forward to as the season goes on.
-
Does anyone think Rogers would of made that play? No, he's not in Rogers ball park but It will be nice to watch this season and see if he is headed in that direction. I just hope it's a learning experience.

I left my heart beating on my desk when I went to bed last night. It was still beating but broken this morning. I saw two different Bears teams last night and the old one reared its ugly head in the 2nd half. I can't look at all the good that happened yet, maybe later in the week. But my late father lived long enough to see them win in 85. He used to scream and yell every year. Throw the damn ball deep at least a few times every game. I can't recall a deep pass. And I mean a throw it over everybody pass attempt. Isn't that what we got Gabriel and Miller for? Or did I miss those bomb plays. I have not felt this down from a loss since 86 or 87 when Steve McMichael came up a foot short of sacking Jay Schader of Washington. I might have the game wrong or even the team but I still remember how I felt watching McMichael walk off the field. That feeling came back last night.

Right now I don't want to hear how they played a great game. Seven point underdogs. As a 60 year fan I don't know how to accepted a loss like this. Just a generational loss!!! Again my heart ripped out by a packer QB!@!!!!
-
how is this possible rip my freakin heart out again!!!!!! really, how do you recover from this as a fan. SICK TO MY STOMACK!!!@! don't want to hear any BS about first game yada yada yada. just a franchise changer pissed away!!!!!~

I have to say, this has been the longest day for me as a Bear fan for a game to start since the 85 super bowl. I can't be more excited from what I have seen so far. God I look forward to building on this in the 2nd half and every game this year. Could not have wanted a better start. Keep your foot on their throat!!!
-
I guess we will see if not playing the starters was a good thing the last two preseason games. The Bears need to get out to a good start and keep the pedal to the metal.
-
And what a difference a years makes. We now have rookies that would of started for us last year and still will, at some point, but now we can afford to let them learn and play without just being thrown into the fire. Before the Mack traded it was all about Smith. Now he is kind of on the back burner when people talk about the defense. I think our four linebackers might be the best in football very soon and the best since Urlacher, Briggs, and Colvin and perhaps beyond. Add that to our front three and our young back end and I have not been this excited to see a defense since the 80's. And to know our coaching staff and front office believe they have put in place almost everything we need to start making a run gives me a big grin. I'm about to start writing down names on message boards who have said for years we will always suck just to give them I told you so.
-
Now that we know what the Bears roster will look like what are your expectations for the season. I will be surprised if they are less that 9-7. They have retooled their entire offense. Not one of their top four wide receivers and tight end were on the team last year. And they played in an offense that was stuck in the forty's. You bring back a defense that was a top ten with two new young players in Smith and Mack. A new head coach who is suppose to be cutting edge on not only scheme but also play calling. How does that not translate to four more wins? I know we're in a tough division but what do the Lions really have. And take away Rodgers and the Packers are below average. They have an all new back end. I think if Mitch T. makes any kind of step forward we should be more than competitive in our division. A little time to gel and we should be ready to kick some ass in the 2nd half of the season.

As the original poster asked would I trade our first for Mack. Yea, but I don't think the Raiders would take just a first. Charles Davis from the NFL channel was on the local sports talk show, I live in Nr. CA., the other day and he has personal friends within the Raider organization. He has not been able to get any insite on the holdout from either the players standpoint or the teams. No one is talking. Like most fans some say trade him and others say pay the man. So come the first game he just might show up and say lets play new contract or not.
-
So lets trade him and next years first to the Raiders for Mack.
-
I wanted OL at 8 but Nelson was gone love Smith. IMHbut dumbO. I think he can do what Singletary did when he was drafted. Yea different scheme etc. but still a difference maker and leader on the field OL addressed in the 2nd round and they added a wr that looks like a burner I don't watch college football, so have no idea. But I think they did good with the picks who have a good chance of success in Nagy,s system.
-
He reminds me of someone. Tackling machine, always around the ball, quick and intelligent. Soon to be leader on the field. May defend the pass better then the run, but thats the NFL now. Looking forward to seeing him play
