  1. The definition is debatable, but I really disagree with you saying that the player cant be from a D1 school. To me, a sleeper is someone who has gone unnoticed to a large extent to the public, and isnt on many boards or radars before the draft. Ive seen Brown in the same range as Usama Young in the fourth, and I know both are really gaining momentum right now. Boss has been on peoples radars forever, and is a guy who has a good chance at being picked in the middle rounds. Barbre is a coin flip as to where he goes, but I'd bet someone take s chance on him because of his test times in the fourth or fifth(IMO, he should be a late fifth pick). Ill give you Ford as a sleeper even though the guy has been and All American three times, and got a combine invite(something I think should count out a player as a sleeper). It's a broad term I guess, so I wont really debate it. Shoot Ive seen people list Anthony Waters as a sleeper, so yours certainly arent even close to bad. Speaking of Waters, would anyone be angry if we picked him up in the third? I for one loved the guy before his injury, and the fact that he is already running in the low 4.6's only 7 months after tearing his ACL speaks volumes about him. He is a BEAST, and I really think he will be a huge steal wherever he is taken. We could certainly afford to keep him as a reserve for a while and let Williams, Joe, and McClover battle it out for WLB while he gets back to full speed. Whoever gets him is going to get themselves quit the player, at quit a bargain price. If he hadnt hurt himself, I really believe he would be the second LB off the boards.
  2. Here's another guy for you.. Rudy Sylvan TE out of Ohio. 6'3 3/8" 285, 4.8 40, 35-inch vert, and 33 bench presses. TE/OT hybrid, who is a very adept blocker. May actually be picked up as an O-line propect, and looks to go 7th or UDFA. Wouldnt mind this guy at all in our TE corps, as we really value blocking in our second and third string guys(well I guess we value blocking with our starter a lot too).
  3. None of those guys are sleepers anymore. They have been on most peoples boards, and radars for quite some time now. Especially, Barbre, and Brown. Boss could be considered a sleeper I guess, and Ford is underrated, but neither is the kind of, "under the radar, and off the board" type I would consider a sleeper.
  4. Here's a guy I have been reading more and more about.... Walter Thomas LINKY Apparently, he overslept for his orginal pro day, so the mental side is going ot be a factor. I know we dont use those huge DT's in our system, but damn.
  5. Not that we really needed confirmation, but it's news related to the subject so here it goes. Rotoworld.....
  6. He traded for Oguns, that was a big trade. He just traded TJ, and a lot of experts see that as a big trade. He signed Tait and Miller, both reasonably big FA signings. He signed Ruben Brown as an FA before them, and he was an eight time(consecutive) Pro-bowler, so that was a big move for us. He makes the move when it needs to be done, he isnt excessive like a lot of GM's are. He's never the one to change things and make moves, for the sake of making changes. He does everything with a purpose of making our team better, and getting the best possible deal out there for our side. Saying he isnt they type of guy who makes big moves isnt a true statement, because he has, and will always make the move when he sees fit. Just becuase he isnt turning heads in FA every year doesnt mean he wouldnt jump in the pool if he sees the right player, or deal to better our situation. If he sees the right deal for Briggs, I have no doubt he pulls the trigger, knowing full well that just sitting on an unused valuable commodity isnt going to help our team.
  7. As previously stated, we wont be getting the 4 pick if CJ falls there. No way, no how. The Bucs are all over the guy, and not a chance they trade out of that opportunity, heck they may even trade up into the opportunity to get him. I would almost rather get their second and one of their 64 or 68 picks, than be staring at a guy at 4 who in all likelihood wont be a starter for us(this year at least), and have to pay him huge bucks.
  8. I'm with the coaches here who have stated in polls that they believe at least half of the players have tried herb. All this tells me is that these are three high character young men who admitted to their mistakes, despite to possible repercussions, and that some scumbag leaked privy information in attempt to either hurt these guys stock, or to help someone elses.
  9. I completely agree with this assessment.
  10. I think it's safe to say this will never happen now that Mel has put it out there.
  11. Out of that list I'd say if we don't pick Olsen, we'd be crazy. There are no offensive TE's that are nearly the threat he is in the draft, and there are a glut of very good OL's to be had with the third(and likely one or two worthy, will be there with the 37). I may be alone here, but Jarrett=overrated product of USC's system. Olsen would be too good to pass up here.
  12. I gave this pick back to RJ, just to clear things up.
  13. Tough choice here. The Pats need to infuse youth at LB, but now they are looking at a hole a CB with Gay looking like a one year wonder, and Samuel looking to holdout. Brandon Siler was very nearly the choice, but Chris Houston gives them the best value here. The Patriots select CB Chris Houston of Arkansas. The Ravens are on the clock...................
  14. Oops. I guess the Pats do select Michael Griffin. Jets are on the clock.
  15. Great, another guy who hasnt been active in a month. Time to wait another week between picks. Wait. Is redandwhite even a member here? I can't find his name on the members list. If he's not, his pick are mine dude!!
  16. I wouldnt be so sure about believing their quote that noone else has approached us regarding Briggs. There are sources claiming the Bears and Giants have been having talks ever since the Al Wilson trade fell through because of a failed physical.
  17. RME JICO. Is it still cool if I take that Chargers pick off your hands?
  18. Numerous sources have JA turning down the Redskins offer, or asking for too much. Deal is dead as of now.
  19. I HATE HATE HATE, foot injurys. Especially on the big guys. Just look at how the foot injury Currie had has affected his career. He was overcompensating on his good leg, and then his muscle started getting tweaked. I really hope both guys come in, feet intact, and raring to go.
  20. Poz and his knee surgery are enough concern for me, not to mention I just think he is completely overhyped. Beason is just someone I dont like whatsoever. Kiper even had Beason moving down on alot of teams boards into the 3rd. Given, the guy is an idiot, but I see eye to eye with him about everything he said about him when showing his highlight reel. Terrible against blockers(got eaten alive by anything thrown his way in the clips), not an elite athlete to make up for his weakness along the line, too reckless, and plays sloppy. I'd rather go with Williams, or Joe over him. Timmons is someone I like, but he's likely the second LB off the board somewhere in the 20's(NE?), Harris looks like a mid 2nd rounder, Black is a wild card who is gaining momentum and pushing up in the second, and there's all the other workout warriors(Barnes, Shaw, DeOssie, Rory Johnson, Durant) who will probably be reached for somewhere they shouldnt be in day 1.
  21. He said it was the 12th and later (unspecified) pick, for our first OR second(again unspecified) and Briggs. Can't say I'd be ecstatic with that draft. I dont like either Poz or Beason.
  22. I believe he is talking about the scout.com article yesterday, that said the Giants(20th straight up), and Bills were entering it. However, this hasnt been confirmed, and the guy who tposted it on another site, said it was speculation on what both teams would offer.
