  1. Terna was a guy I wanted to draft since 05', but apparently he plays a Courtney Watson style game, where he has all the physical ability in the world(including freakish strength), yet he cant do the little things like fight through blocks, hold his ground, and isnt very cerebral. He will learn eventially given time and patience, but we dont really have a spot for that right now. The one guy I really really really want is Nate Salley, as a matter of fact theres a bunch of guys Carolina cut that we could use as upgrades, namely, Chad Beasley, Dave Kadela, Jeremy Hardy, Nate Salley, and Billy Parker. Dont be put off by the dumpster diving logic, because some teams will be very deep at spots you are weak at even if you are an all around strong roster. Damn. I just noticed Tyrone Calico was let go by the Titans, anybody know whats going on there? Dude has everything you need in a big play receiver, apparently something went very wrong, because he looked to be a stud before injuries the last couple seasons.
  2. No they didnt, but I was saying it in jest, sort of, because he would be a stud there. I have gone on record since the day we signed Pope as loving the way he plays and his attributes so I know he'll be a quality player somewhere.
  3. Worrell got shat on more than a few times this preseason. Just because a guy can come up and cover the run, and arrive 3 seconds after the play has already been made putting himself in the picture, doesnt mean he is playing good. Worrell is slow garbage who cant cover and doesnt play up to speed because he is very limited athletically. Seriously, he played A LOT this preseason, and was killed by the pass by second and third stringers the whole way. You keep guys you could trust to step onto the field with first stringers and not worry about their ability to keep up, and I would be crapping my pants if that situation ever arose. Nate Salley just got released by Carolina, so did two other safeties whoe are much better than Cam, we need to to go after them, or the MANY MANY others more capable then him, if we want to have a complete team because Todd and Cam arent quality backups.
  4. Yes, dude will be a stud for the Broncos.
  5. Cant believe we kept the type of guy who could be had off waivers at any time during the season. Seriously, there are a couple dozen safeties on waivers right now I would rather see us carry then Cam. I would have rather kept four RBs over the waste of a spot Cam is. cb Keith Belton, Jamaal Green, Mark LeVoir, P.J. Pope, Tyler Reed, Joel Stelly, Rod Wilson, Cooper Wallace, Alex Bannister and placed safety Brandon McGowan on the PUP.
  6. I really wanted to see Leffew make the squad as a pulling guard and emergency tackle, but there are better veteran options soon to be cut for that role(right now that is) anyway so.... Also Im dissapointed to see Byrum didnt make an impression, he seems to have it all except the intellect on the field, but hopefully we can PS him this season. Now if we keep a dime a dozen player like Worrell, then I will have something to complain about. I also hope the coaches dont keep Wilson, because between the one or two good plays he has, he is terrible(out of position, missing tackles, slow in pursuit, missreading etc....). I seriously dont see the buzz about the kid at all.
  7. not good news, but I suppose things could be worse than losing a rookie DT. On the other hand this just basically confirms what I expected from the getgo, that Haynes will not be cut. I for one while I think this sucks, am also sort of happy to see Haynes given a shot in the interior, as he either......... a. works his value up considerably, and gets us something of actual value for him as compared to his completely worthless stock now. b. fails, we sit in the same position as we do right now. c. really shows good value to our team and we keep him. It's really win-win the way I look at it for Michael to be kept, and it's not like we would get anything worthwhile for him now anyways so........
  8. Au contraire my dear friend........................ herald suntime Both quote him as saying he'll be back no doubt for the opener. Id rather see him make sure this injury wont become a nagging concern, but hey, if he's that sure he'll be fine, then so am I.
  9. Ive heard contradictions to the report that Anderson's hammy is going to put him on the PUP into the season, and actually he has been seen doing some hard drills on the sideline during practice. It would be nice to see a rotation with him, Izzy, and Green trying to figure something out and throw different looks at GB. As for losing Brown, damn....
  10. More importantly he should have been 15-18 in the first half. Man it's seriously a shame to go around on other boards and see how people are calling for Rex's head on a platter because of a couple poor preseason games. I'll just chalk it up to mounting frustrations of his injuries when people call him a bust, that or they are just idiots not looking at the whole portrait of a game(RB not helping thus far, penalties, drops, sacks, pressure let in by a guy who isnt doing his part in the other aspect of his job...........). Seriously, if he sucks then so be it, but Im not willing to get frustrated by a couple preseason games, especially when Rex has impressed me every other time I have seen him. Frustration can really make people say and do silly things.
  11. On the good side Rex looked very good against first teamers today in the first half, even with a couple big dropped passes, some huge penaltys, absolutely no running game, terrible blocking by AP. We REALLY REALLY REALLY need TJ and Ced back 100% healthy because AP showed the difference between a starter and a third stringer.
  12. Wow.... I know I said this and was ripped because of it when we first got him, and I hate to bring up old news, but RMJ cant cover shit. Seriously he has gotten crapped on all preseason. In case if you havent noticed the Cards have thrown the ball his way like 80% of the time, and almost every time they have thrown the ball to a wide out. He lets the receiver catch the ball every time and makes the tackle after the fact, and some where wondering why his tackle mark was so high even for a back up. Seriously, even on the goal lne he is two steps behind the play. Also, AP may be the worst blocker in the backfield Ive seen in a LOOOOONG time. He just goes for their feet every time.
  13. St. Clair was a stud center coming out of college, so Im sure he is third on our depth chart making Lennie redundant. He's a dime a dozen guy who can be had off waivers at any time. Better linemen than him will get cut soon anyway if we want to go dumpster diving. There's actually quite a few players who I expect to get cut that I want us to take a look at;Chris McNeil, Kyle Roper, Ryan Gibbons, Nick Cole, Seppo Evwaraye, Will Montgomery, and Pat Ross just to name some of the young guys I think have a shot, and there are countless other vets who will be looked at. We dont need a third or fourth center as bad as we could use another T, but the Browns did need him so it works out well for both of us. Now if we gave my guy Leffew a legit shot to make the squad I think he would be very valuable to us as a pulling guard and an emergency tackle. Anyway.....Glad to see we got something for nothing.
  14. Rex made a couple of really nice throws, only to have two series broken up by jap plays and drops. He will certainly shake off the rust and get his throws where they needs to be between now and opening day. Our protection was awesome, even without Olin. Even our second rotation looked very solid. Our D was only a half step behind plays, which is a good thing believe it or not, I would be concerned if we were miss-reading plays and falling back. Our number ones actually showed they had closed that half step gap by the time they left the game. Very nice work for how early it is against competition. Expect this gap to close as our guys get out there and back into game mode, soon enough we'll be jumping routes and reading bootlegs like noones business. Our first D only gave up 3 points despite the Bradley fumble and other bad breaks(ie being on the field a lot). Gave up some plays here and there by being slow to read and react(RMJ was by far the worst when it came to reacting to and staying with his man), but always BEARED DOWN when it mattered. Rashied looked awesome out there, exploiting teams lesser corners(which would be his role anyway so it's not a knock on him at all) and finding the soft spots on the field, all while showing very soft hands. We got a lot of pressure despite Alex's bootlegs and rollouts, we learned a lot as we were on the field longer and eventually stopped those rollouts all together. Seriously, Lovie and Ron had to be very excited by the time our first defenses time was up, by how much they had progressed throughout their short time on the field. From the first snap to their last one the progress/play recognition/performance/everything was exponentially improved. Our Special Teams were stellar... Nough Said.
  15. So I just got jumped on because I ripped apart the starter of the following post... Please someone tell me this is not the most rediculous shit conceivable after our first preseason game. I Seriously, Jay Moronotti may actually find some enlightenting words of wisdom from this guy.
  16. I just posted this on the other fan site, and was met with complete silence. "Wow you can really tell who has watched this team before, and the ones who jumped aboard during our good season last year. This is the preseason, not everything goes as planned, and not everything is smooth. Jay Mariotti would get some wonderful insight for his next piece from some here. Jebus, Grossman has some rust and a shitty snap from a backup center, and he blows, but Griese has a couple okay series against second and third string players(with a lot of help from my guy Pope), and he should automatically be named to starter. It is our first preseason game, at least let our guys shake off some rust and get going before you act like it's the end of the world. That, or you can give up now, and go back to ignoring the team until week 12 when they have the division locked up like you did last year. Dont break your necks jumping off the bandwagon you so recently hopped on. "
  17. Haha... i just got done ripping on everyone in another Bears site who is acting like an idiot over our first preseason game thus far..
  18. Man, excited doesnt even begin to tell how excited I am to watch some Bears football.
  19. People recover their speed just fine now after ACL surgery, but he probably wont have it all back this soon. He very well could be as good as gold by the playoffs, and that would be perfect timing to let him loose.
  20. Not yet, just that it's his shoulder. You can see the clip here, and it looks like a seperated shoulder by his reaction and the angle he got hit. clip Please be okay Ced, you da man!!!
  21. Berrian holds it down until Bradley is 100% healthy, then they go by committee between the two, and Gage on third. I think we go by committee for a good number of reason, Gage will do his thing on third down being the excellent possesion receiver he is, and Bradley and Berrian will be the regular guys. Gage will come up with some big catches for us this year in clutch situations.
  22. Im out of town, so im sure others like me will appreciate the PS broadcasts as much they did last year. No word on the Chargers game, but Im sure it will be broadcast somewhere. Tuesday, Aug. 15 Air time Chicago at San Francisco (HD) 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 26 Air time Arizona at Chicago 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 2 Air time Chicago at Cleveland 10 a.m.
  23. As Angelo said there wont be any more contract negotiations with him this season, and I believe that. Now if Briggs wants to accept the 5.5 a year chalked out for him previously, Im sure JA will sit down and get it done, but as far as negotiations, that road has passed.
  24. The Panthers have a TON of young hopeful O-lineman I would love to get our hands on. Hopefully they stick with this shlub and release Seppo Evwaraye, or Will Montgomery, so we can jump on them.
  25. Talent wise, no way is he better than Bragg or Currie, work ethic and apparent mini camp production, yes. Bragg was a super stud in the Pac 10, I got to see him tear my Sun Devils a new one on multiple occasions, and I thought for sure he would be a 1-2 NFL WR. His shoulder seperation really set him back, but I still think he can be a valuable last player.
