Agreed. All Leinart did when they were driving right down the field was take what the Bears defense gave him. For a whole half they were conceeding the 5 yard passes that you were talking about and mixing in a run here and there. Once the Bears started jamming the recievers a little that all stopped though.

They made the adjustment almost immediately. They took away the deep ball and forced Rex to beat them with shorter balls. He didn't and thats why he totally sucked tonight. Contrast that with Leinart. He saw that the Bears were conceeding the short pass to Bouldin so he went to it over......and over........and over again in the 1st half. Its not that Leinart is that great but he took what the Bears gave him and he almost won.

The Bears should have learned from last week. Cedric Benson was MONEY on the goal line last week and he didn't get a carry when the Bears had a goalline situation. They need to go back to what works in the red zone. Watching him try to force a ball deep every single series was sickening to me. It obviously wasn't there but he kept forcing it and forcing it and he totally screwed himself in so doing.

If we had done it with offensive touchdowns I would agree. We did this with 2 defensive touchdowns and a punt return for chrissakes. This is a first in the history of football. The history of football. That puts it over the top.

You had to know that Grossman was going to have a bad day ( I didn't think it'd be THIS bad ) but how he comes out against the 9ers in 2 weeks is going to tell a whole hell of a lot. He needs to take this game and learn from it and I think he will. I think Grossman will be a better quarterback after having this kind of an experience under his belt.
