  1. A month later: Nabers 61-607-3 (1st) +26 McConkey 43-615-4 (2nd) +28 Thomas 42-689-5 (1st) +20 Odunze 34-479-1 (1st) +19 Harrison 33-499-6 (1st) +16 Legette 29-284-4 (1st) +16 Vele 26-281-1 (7th) Worthy 24-307-4 (1st) Coleman 22-417-3 (2nd) McConkey has been on fire for LAC. With 7 weeks left, there might be 6x WRs with over 800 receiving yards by season's end + Bowers (who leads all rookies with 70-706). Can you name a better WR Class?
  2. One last nugget. The records of the teams the Bears have lost to and beaten this season below. They have 5 games against teams with 7 or more wins and 2x games against 5-5 teams. If everything stays the same, the Bears will win no more than 1 more game and finish at 5-12 (at best). 7-4 7-3 6-4 6-4 5-6 3-8 ---------- 5-5 (injured Rams team, no Puka or Kupp) 3-7 2-8 2-9
  3. The Poles/Flus era - The most losses over any 3-year period in franchise history is 34 losses, achieved 3 times. The current abortion of a team would have to go 3-4 in their final 7 games just to tie that futility. 2-5 or worse and they are the worst "era" team in franchise history. They have to clean house. As good as some think Poles is, he is not. You can't miss on that many mid round picks, and use so much money on non-critical positions (Edmunds) and expect to win.
  4. At this point, there are 7 games to evaluate everyone, except Flus. There is nothing else to learn about him. However, it would be interesting elevating some of the other coaches to see what they can do. Obviously, Brown was ready. No harm in elevating someone else to interim HC to get experience while a lower coach moves up to fill void. It is not like continuity is a good thing in this case as it has resulted in the worst 3 year stretch in franchise history.
  5. Interestingly enough, Minnesota allows the 5th most passing yards per game, but they are super stout against the run. Their TTT is comparable to Washington's, and their EPA/Pass is between HOU and GB, and their QBP% is between HOU and WAS. So we will see. Overall, it is definitely the toughest overall defense the Bears have faced, but not the toughest pass defense. Brown seems to have made a tangible difference as the Bears had their highest EPA/Play at +0.23 against GB. GB allows -0.09 on the season, so the Bears offense had a very solid game against GB.
  6. Caleb was the highest-graded player on the team according to PFF (85.2) which was Caleb's 2nd highest grade for the season (JAX). Caleb had a QBR of 83.4 which was also his 2nd best game of the year and was the 4th best QB this week. So Caleb now has 3 top 5 QBR weeks, 2nd in Week 5 vs CAR, 1st in Week 6 against JAX, and 4th this week. For the season, Caleb has 3 of the top 50 best games, Daniels also has 3, and Nix has 1. For the season, Caleb is at 44.2 QBR. Trubisky had a 33.3 as a rookie, Fields had a 31.4. So Caleb is trending in the right direction. If he can break 50.0, that would be huge, he has 7 more games to get there.
  7. I revised it a little bit based on last year's records vs the preseason predictions. The Jets were 7-10 last year and are now 3-8, so they are off the list for now as there are teams with more losses than last year already that make the list before the Bears and Jets. However, those 2 teams will climb right back in week by week to easily make the list.

    Keenan Allen

Yeah, Bates was a backup in BUF, but was coming to CHI to start, so at a minimum, Poles should've thrown 1-2 more targets a the O-Line between FA and the draft to protect against this exact outcome happening with injuries. The Bears already had Moore, Odunze, and Kmet. So by adding Allen, one of those 3 would get bumped down to option 4 in the passing game. In a way, Poles created a too many mouths to feed problem. Everyone can't get 7-8 targets a game. Kmet has been on the short end lately, but so has Odunze, all to give Allen more targets and drops.
  9. Nix has looked really good of late. He is probably winning the ROY. I never understood the Daniels hype outside of the Commanders record. Nix will lead all rookie QB in stats by the end of the year and may end up with 4K passing yards and 30+ TDs, very Stroud-like rookie year. He was my 2nd favorite QB coming out after Caleb.
  10. Oh and Bo Nix has 9 TD and 1 INT in his last 4 games, which includes games against KC, BAL, and ATL. 👀 Coaching matters.

btw, coming into this game, Williams had a 122.5 Passer Rating when targeting Kmet, and he was 3-3 for 42 yards, so I assume that went up. Allen was 89.3, but 4-8 for 41 yds will definitely drop that down. Either way, there will be at least a 35 pt Passer Rating difference between targeting Kmet and Allen, yet Allen sees 2-3x the targets per game.

This move seems to have backfired on Poles. A waste of a 4th round pick and roster spot. Allen has been a liability and for some reason Caleb has targeted him a ton. He has 30 receptions on 56 targets with several drops. Kmet has 32 receptions on 37 targets. So 2 more receptions with 19 fewer targets. Allen also missed 2 games, so those numbers would be even higher if he didn't. It almost feels like Caleb feels obligated to throw the ball to Allen even though there are much more efficient options. Allen should be the 4th option, not the 1st or 2nd one.
  13. Caleb had his 4th best Passer Rating of 95.0, 2nd best Comp% at 74.2, and 3rd highest Y/A at 7.5, and his best rushing day with 70 yards. Now up to 2,016 Passing Yards on the season with 306 rushing yards. Now on pace for 3,427 passing yards and 521 rushing yards. He would need to average 260 passing yards per game to break Erik Kramer's team record. Still a possibility, but with every game, it is becoming more and more unlikely. He needs 178 passing yards and 3 TDs to become the Bears rookie single season leader. He already holds the completions record with 201 passing Trubisky today. He needs 44 more passing attempts to pass Kyle Orton.
  14. Update after the lovely weekly Bears loss: Surprises: 1. WSH 7-4 (4-13) +3 wins 2. LAC 7-3 (5-12) +2 wins 3. ARZ 6-4 (4-13) +2 wins 4. MIN 8-2 (7-10) +1 win 5. CAR 3-7 (2-15) +1 win Disappointments: 1. CLE 2-8 (11-6) +2 losses 2. DAL 3-6* (12-5) +1 loss 3. JAX 2-9 (9-8) +1 loss 4. MIA 4-6* (11-6) +0 losses 5. SF 5-5 (12-5) +0 losses Revised based on last year's records compared to current records. That drops the Bears out for now.
  15. Crazy that Carolina's 2nd rounder may end up worse than the Bears own pick.
  16. The same number of losses: 63-30 LaFleur 14-30 Eberloss Just 49 fewer wins.
  17. What more do you need to see? How many more games are going to lose because of coaching? No team pulls losses from the jaws of victory like the Bears. This one, at home, against your supposed #1 rivals, for a chance to stay in the playoff hunt. Instead you lose in another miserable fashion to lose your 4th straight. Btw, GB blocked a FG kick last week to win, so you had to know they were good at it and should not have taken any risks with a long kick, but what do I know. I am so sick of Flus, more than any coach that I can remember. Loved Lovie, didn't mind Nagy, just didn't like his play calling, but Flus is on a whole nother level of suck. We are now in Year 3 of the rebuild that looks like Year 1.
  18. Why run the clock down, it was 2nd down with 30+ secs left. Run at least another play before kicking. Another Flus flub. Worst Coach in Bears history but let's keep running him out there.
  19. He was much better today, 23-31 for 74.2% with a few drops.
  20. Sure, the season is over for the playoffs, and this likely seals the deal with Flus, he has to go. Now it is all about Caleb's development with Brown for the remainder of the season. At 4-6 and 3 games back, they would have to basically win out, or go at least 6-1 to have a chance due to tiebreakers. They will be lucky to win one more.
  21. Of course, a blocked FG to lose the game. I have no clue why they didn't run it again to gain a few more yards on 2nd down. Let the time run down to 3 seconds. freakin so Bears right there. Just fire Flus now, what is the point?
  22. Last offensive drive, need about 38 yards for easier FG and back to back sacks, now 3rd and 19, 2 minute warning and need about 47 yards for a FG.
  23. Packers back up after another ez drive to score another TD. Bears down by 1 with 3 mins left, 20-19.
