  1. No more Hockenson and week 2 with Claypool. Bears only favored by 3 at home. So that is equal at a neutral site. I think Bears win handily, 31-17
  2. I'm making a list right now. WR is weak in free agency but they can definitely fill some holes in the trenches.
  3. He was a bust 4 weeks ago. It's so funny. I need to start retweeting those. He has shown that he is the best QB drafted in the last few years.
  4. Evans was awesome, that was my childhood. Fields is Evans, Vick, Jackson, Cunningham all together.
  5. Now the media has flipped on a dime. So funny. Come jump on the Fields bandwagon, we still have room.
  6. After the ref aided loss this weekend, the Bears are currently drafting 8th but will slide to 9th with a NO loss to BAL on MNF. With the bye weeks in full force now, there will be a half game difference with some teams until all the teams have had their bye. The Bears are 1 game away from drafting 16th and 1 game away from drafting 5th. The Bears next 4 games before their bye are: DET 2-6, ATL 4-5, NYJ 6-3, and GB 3-6. All those games are winnable, but I figure they will at least split them to go no worse than 5-8 into the bye with 4 to play. With the way the offense is trending, the Bears will probably win 7-8 games this year. At 7 wins they will draft in the low teens, 8 wins is high teens.
  7. Yeah, he was always a decent player, just sort of a head case.
  8. Robinson is now 25-248-2 after that huge game ? His yards per game and yards per reception are actually down from last year. So funny. I haven't heard Hicks name all season.
  9. 4 out of the last 5 games for Fields have been net positive for QBR. With his game this week (95.4 QBR), he is now at 55.0 for the season. He finished last year at 31.4. He is now 14th, tied with Joe Burrow. Lawrence is the only other 2nd year QB over 50 at 50.9. Fields has totally flipped the narrative and has been unleashed. Since the NE game, Fields has 6 passing TDs to 1 INT and 3 rushing TDs. 9 TD to 1 INT ratio!
  10. Wow, that was impressive. Should've been a win. Refs suck. Even with a slow start, he is on pace for over 1275 yards rushing, and is averaging 102 yards a game in his last 4 (once they started actually running). So if he kept up a pace somewhere in between, he would be over 1300 yards for the year. If he kept up the same pace for the remainder of the year, he would break Lamar Jackson's single season rushing record. That is insane. DET, ATL, NYJ, and GB up next.
  11. What is exciting is this is just the beginning. If Fields looks like this now, he is going to be unstoppable next year. That TD run was Vick-like on a day where he breaks his record. At least the media is finally on Fields side and believe the Bears got robbed by the refs.
  12. Fields breaks Michael Vicks single game rushing record, Kmet gets 2 TDs, and Green Bay loses to the Lions with Rodgers throwing 3 INTs. This loss effectively kills any chance at a playoff berth, as the Bears are just one game back from the worst team in the NFC.
  13. Refs hand the game to the Dolphins, a phantom call on Jackson that swings the field position and then the no call on Claypool. They need to make PI reviewable. Game changing penalties.
  14. Rodgers just threw his 3rd INT and none of his receivers have 3 receptions yet. GB losing 8-0, Detroit with ball.
  15. Fields just ripped off a 61 yd TD run. Dude is insane. If the defense can do anything, the Bears can actually win this. Offense has outscored Miami's 25-21 so far. The difference is that blocked punt TD.
  16. 21-17 at half, Miami only scored 14 on offense. Bears scored 17. Fields rating the last 4 games: 71.5, 85.2, 120.0, and 128.9 so far today. Talk about improvement. That doesn't even take into account his rushing. Kmet and Mooney both with TD catches. Bears with over 100 yards rushing and on their way to another 200 yard rushing day.
  17. Offense has some pep today.
  18. Vildor is literally responsible for 3 losses for the Bears. And on queue makes a PI penalty in the end zone.
  19. God that was embarrassing. Roquan has been such a polarizing player on and off the field. On the field, he has great games, followed by terrible stinkers. Then off the field, great with the community, then does wild things with his contracts. If we can just get some consistency from our LBs with some better gap integrity and pass defense, the defense overall may actually be better.

    Eiselen Ascending?

If feels like the Bears have the right players when healthy to have a decent line, they just haven't found that one combination that is the best. If they can add one more high end player in the draft or via FA this offseason, I feel like the line could be set for a few years. If they can get Center locked down (Eiselen/Kramer, etc), then the next upgrade is needed at RT. Schofield has played considerably better than I expected so far, and even Reiff has played better than I expected.
  21. The 2 Super Bowl favorite teams have mobile QBs that run a lot. The Bears are probably a year or two away, but I can see them morphing into PHI/BUF-like squad in the next 2 years as long as Fields continues to develop.
  22. Future draft picks are supposedly worth a round less. So a 3rd rounder this year is worth a 2nd rounder next year, or something close to that. Mainly because you are getting a year's worth of use out of them before the other player is even picked. I don't know how much that gets used, but for the trade, even if the Bears draft 8th, and pick between 38-42 in the 2nd (which goes to PIT). To the Bears, that is basically a half round just to have Claypool for the remainder of this year, making the pick more equivalent to #54-58, which is near the end of the 2nd. Also, Claypool is cheap this year, and next year. So it is a super low risk signing if he doesn't work out. However, I always felt like his game (routes that he is good at) were perfect for Fields and will compliment Mooney. If Harry can take on the A-Rob possession WR role, those 3 are a very solid top 3, not great, but solid.
  23. Can you imagine Vildor trying to defend Hill or Waddle? McDaniels clearly saw what Dallas did. Throw and run at Vildor all day. Nothing else will matter. I feel like Vildor will be good for at least 4 TDs against. I am figuring this will be a high 30s to low 20s scoring game, 38-22 due to a failed 2pt conversion. Claypool is too new to really contribute outside of some Go routes, but it will be nice to see him out there. The line of +4.5 for the Bears is surprising. Compared to recent lines and the loss of Quinn and Smith, I figured the line would be closer to 6 or 7. EDIT: I really thought Miami was dominating teams, but their biggest win was opening week with a 13 pt win against NE. In their last 5, they are 2-3 with losses to CIN (by 12), NYJ (by 23), and MIN (by 8), then wins against PIT (by 6) and DET (by 4). So with that knowledge, I think it will be more like 31-27 or something like that.
  24. As good as Roquan was some games, others he would disappear. You can't pay someone $20M who doesn't show up every week. Roquan had at least 2 stinkers this year. It is going to be interesting to see how the Ravens handle it and what he gets. Remember they still have to deal with Lamar Jackson, and neither have an agent.
  25. We also have another WR that is great at jet sweeps and has thrown a TD pass. Something to consider, the 2023 FA WR class is terrible, a bunch got extended this offseson. If Claypool was an FA, he would get Christian Kirk money, so this is pretty fair compensation.
