  1. How many consecutive losses will it take for someone to get fired? 5? 10? 14? Currently at 3, not favored in another game all year. Team getting worse week after week. Fields won't make it two more weeks taking the hits he is taking. 7 more games to the bye. That would be 10 straight. At that point you have to start firing people, right? WR Coach, OL Coach? Those units are horrible and worse than last year. Getsy is not it. Always a risk when you hire a coach from an offense with a HoFer at QB. Look at Denver, Hackett won't last a year. Do we really want Poles drafting next year? Gordon over Pierce, Velus over Raimann. Brisker is literally the only acquisition that is still playing above average. His free agent class may be the worst in the league. All his guys are literally losing the games, Gordon/Velus/Smith-Marsette. I am ok with Flus, but some of his assistants need to go. My thoughts are if this team only wins 3-4 games, you have to fire Poles and half of the assistants. At this point they need to win at least 5-6 games, and even then you have to consider firing some assistants who underperformed. However, for how bad they have looked for all by 3 halves of football out of 12, I can't see them beating anyone else on their schedule. Cut Mustipher and ISM today.
  2. It's Fields, he ain't it. How much more do we have to see? Any other QB would be replaced at this point. He is not learning as a starter. He needs more time in the oven and time to practice fundamentals.
  3. Any lineup without Mustipher is better as long as Patrick is at C. So C or D.
  4. That's true but they aren't even doing that. They just let the OT take care of him. He is literally running into the OT on every play. I am not seeing his speed and bend.
  5. Yeah we need to move Quinn now. Mack is tearing it up in LA like 2018 and Quinn looks like 2020 Quinn. He is so weird, he has one big year followed by a lower year, followed by a higher year, rinse repeat. Check out his sack numbers, it looks like 2 different players: Odd year sack total (13-21): 62.5 (69 games) Even year sack total (12-20): 33.5 (72 games) This is an even year where he averages less than half a sack a game, max 8 sacks, and on pace for 4.5. Note - Quinn has more sacks in 2013+2021 (38) than in his 5 even season years (33.5) and maybe even this year if he only gets 4.5. Schoefield or Reiff are better than Mustipher. I have no idea what they are doing. Mustipher has enough tape as a bad starter, serviceable backup.
  6. No worries, I have been super busy with work this week. Cousins has not been as good as he was in previous years thru 4 games. Probably due to the offensive changes. 6 TD to 4 INT is very unlike him. In the last 3 seasons, his TD to INT is 94-26. His Y/A is a yard lower but they are throwing more. Justin Jefferson vs Vildor or Gordon? He may break the single game record for receptions, yds, and TDs in this one. This team is so weird. You have Cousins, Cook, Jefferson, Theilen, Osborn, Smith, and Mattison as your top skill guys, yet you are middle of the road on offense? Then on defense, they give up a lot of yards. Even though they are 2-1 in their last 3, their score differential in those game is -10. They scored a last minute TD to beat the Lions and needed a missed FG to beat the Saints. So they are probably not that good, but still a lot better than the Bears. I always felt the Bears would split with MIN and DET, home and away. So this one is still should be a loss. I hope our offense can generate some TDs, the defense can play better against the run and tackle some people. I fear that there will be so much attention on Jefferson that Cook and Thielen will have big games. The odds are the game will be Viqueens 28-20, however, I will go Bears 27-24 with a Santos game winner after a Cousins INT late to Gordon. My goals for the Bears by units: 1. Fields over 25 passing attempts, 225 yards, 1 TD, 0 INT, 3 or less sacks, doesn't get hit while sliding (put your head down dude). 2. Kmet and Mooney both at least have 3 catches each, one has over 5. 3. Blasingame gets targeted in the passing game at least twice (wheel route?) - anytime TD? 4. Jenkins plays the entire game and pancakes at least 3 Vikes (Harrison Smith plz). 1. Cook doesn't go over 100 yards rushing, the defense tackles better and has better gap integrity and contain. 2. Jefferson doesn't go over 150 yards, and the Safeties prevent any 50+ yard plays. 3. Gordon "looks" better and is not always trailing his guy by 2-3 yds, gets 2 PBUs. 4. The Edge guys get some sacks, Quinn, Muhammad (who has looked terrible), Gipson, and Robinson. 1. Gill has less than 6 punts, but still averages 45+ net and several inside the 20. 2. Velus doesn't muff a punt/kick. 3. KRs don't return the ball out from the end zone if they are going to get tackled at the 18. 1. Getsy calls a more aggressive game with more quicker developing plays to get Fields and the passing game going. 2. Williams/Flus attack the LOS against the run and pass to stop Cook and pressure Cousins. Don't coach not to lose > see Giants game. 3. Start the game fast, go uptempo without substitutions. Need a TD on that first drive.
  7. Golladay is not the same guy after the injury, but I would definitely look into the trade market. There may be even some options before the trading deadline this year. The Bears can take on some big salaries for teams that are tight. Definitely need a pure pass catching TE, Kmet is still serviceable, but doesn't seem like he is a TE1. Going OL/DL/WR in any order for the first 3 picks would be nice. If there are huge values in other positions, you have to consider them but it would be nice to get 3 top picks in those areas.
  8. Great news, hopefully he can get up to speed in a week or two and get out there with a few routes. He may be our WR wildcard.
  9. Surprised we didn't put him on our PS.

    Allen Robinson

So Allen Robinson is who we thought he was. Has anyone else watch the Rams games? He is literally jogging routes out there and barely blocks the refs. In 4 games, he has 9 receptions and 95 yards and is on pace for 38 receptions and 400 yds receiving. I am sure it will go up but not that much. He will probably end up with a season similar to last season's loaf-a-thon. The sad part is he would lead the Bears in receptions! That is how bad the passing attack has been. Somewhere Dowell Loggains is smiling.
  11. Yep, with only 2 wins now, 5 wins seems like the max with the schedule on how the team looked against the Giants. The WR FA market is terrible next offseason, so they are going to have to draft a WR early. DT and OL have a lot more options in free agency. I would even consider a TE in free agency like Gesicki, Schultz, Engram, or Hooper. We need a pass catching TE and Kmet is clearly not one of them. This is pretty crazy, here are the FA WRs with the most snaps: Mack Hollins, Noah Brown, Eq St. Brown, Marvin Jones, Parris Campbell, David Sills, Greg Dortch, Allen Lazard, Juju, and Agholor. So maybe they go after Lazard or Juju. Those would be the top 2 names under 30.
  12. Goff looks much better in this system as he has cut down on his INTs, which is huge for him. He has already thrown for 4600 yds twice, and 3 of his seasons would be Bears franchise records. So it is not like Goff was some terrible QB before going to DET. His TD to INT in DET is 30-11. His career passer rating is 91.9. He has always been an above average QB that would throw a bad INT every now and then. Looking at his career stats, nothing relates to Fields in any way if you are trying to make that comparison.
  13. Every other outlet has him dead last. If you watch the tape, there is no way he has a 100% win rate. There are a ton of these examples:
  14. I am figuring #5-#12 range. My assumption is you have to go OT/DT/WR in that spot. The other option is to trade down (for someone looking to grab a QB) and add some picks while still getting a mid to late round first.
  15. They really need to take another look at Schofield or Reiff with Patrick at OC. It can't be worse than Mustipher at OC. Mustipher has been part of the problem since last year, yet two regimes keep running him out there as the OC. You need a competent Center for a young QB, and he ain't one of them.
  16. Fields IMPROVED! Now only at -65.2%, still last behind Mayfield by -22.4%, and Mayfield is -16.1% behind Daniel Jones. Team now 27th, offense 29th, defense dropped to 18th.
  17. Did you see that SF defense last night? If the Bears played SF last night, our offense would've scored -2pts. Also, I was never really that high on Stafford. He was a stat padder in Detroit, then lucked into a perfect scenario in LA for one year. I doubt they do much else while he is the QB. It is not hard throwing to the best WR in the league. Just look at Rodgers, no Davante, and not a single game over 255 yds passing since. That is becoming my only sliver of hope with Fields. He really doesn't have the weapons.
  18. The entire offseason there was a theme preached with HITS, and I think we expected a little more consistency, but not in that way. How many times did the backside defender bite on a Jones play action? Why though, that defender never contributed to the tackle when Barkley actually ran? It took them 2 quarters to figure that out and by then they had 2 easy TDs. Our O-Line cannot handle the blitz. On two of them, there were 2 free runners on one side and 2 OLinemen looking for work on the other side. That has to be fixed. They have to move some of the protection to account for those guys. Mustipher allowed half of all pressures. We really need Patrick at OC and Jenkins permanently at RG. Now with Whitehair possibly out some time, it may be Patrick-Mustipher-Jenkins which is still weak with Mustipher in there. About the play calling, has there been any quick slants or quick in routes? Also, why are we not running into the massive gap on the right side on those rollouts. Fake the roll out, hand it off, but then have the RB go counter into the gigantic hole. Cutback! Kmet's disappearance is mind boggling. Everyone said he looked great in the offseason and he is a ghost, and he is either holding or blocking terrible. There is no way this current team wins more than 5 games. Look at the schedule, they won't win any games in the division. WAS is the only game they may be favored in after the MIN loss next week. So they will go into that game 2-3 on TNF. After that potential win, they will have losses to NE, DAL, MIA, DET, ATL, NYJ, GB, PHI, BUF, DET, and MIN. I figure they can easily lose 11 straight to end the season at 3-14. That is definitely possible if you watched any of the other games. Figure they get lucky and win 2 of them. That is 5-12. Either way, is that a success? To me, anything less than 7 wins with a 2-1 start and playing NYG is a huge failure. If they only win 5 games, Fields is obviously not the guy (again). You also have to question everyone, are they really any better than the last regime if you can only win 5 games with the schedule they have. The only bright spot is 5-12 will be a top 5 pick this year. HOU is the only team without a win, so 5 wins should lock in a top 5 pick.
  19. Crazy comparison, but for those old enough to remember McNown drafted in 1999 with the 12th pick. This is basically what he did over a 2 year span. After an injury in Year 2, they never went back to him: Cade McNown 8-17, 281-515, 54.6%, 3111 yds, 16 TD, 19 INT, 45 sacks Justin Fields 4-10, 193-337, 57.3%, 2341 yds, 9 TD, 14 INT, 52 sacks Fields already has been sacked more times than McNown, and is projected to have less TDs and more INTs in the same amount of attempts. Fields trajectory is not good. Nothing is clicking. This is now his second offense and there are no signs of improvement. It looks like he will get a year, but man, if there are no signs of improvement, it is going to be a long season. He has a chance to surpass the times sacked record, especially with a 17th game (if he makes it that far). Carr was sacked 76 times, Fields on pace for 68.
  20. It is never all on one player, but there are worse O-Lines, worse WR corps, etc, etc, and guys still look competent. Fields is super athletic, smart, etc, but how many games does a guy need to even show that he is at least a serviceable QB? He has had 2x games in his career where he has thrown for over 225 yards. He has passed for 2 TDs in a game once. At some point, it is on him.
  21. Yep, I agree. Fields is not the guy. Just look at the Pats/Packers game. Bailey Zappe, 3rd String Rookie, 4th Round pick out of Western Kentucky was thrown into the game after Hoyer got hurt. He is currently 9-13, 93 yds, and a TD with 11 mins left. He has more TDs than Justin Fields has in the last 3 games. Zappe is also outplaying Rodgers who is 10-19, with a Pick-6.
  22. So wow, a lot to unpack already this year. So starting from the top, this team could easily be 0-3-1 right now and that is how it feels. In 4 weeks, there have been so few bright spots, it is incredible that this team is so how 2-2. I can't tell if there are halftime adjustments or the other team's get conservative and allow the Bears to run the ball more AND the also play more conservative and score less - or the defense is actually playing better in the second half. The entire offense is hot mess. In every passing week, it just seems more and more like either Fields is not the guy, or the team doesn't trust him and are not planning for him to be the long-term solution at QB after this year. Both can be true. That is 4 straight starts with 10 or fewer completions. I just don't think more reps are going to fix this. Every snap feels like he was just tossed into the game without a clue. Every part of his game has gotten worse, even his scrambling. I get that the O-Line is bad, but they are not the sole reason why he is struggling and not improving. It is 4 games now, it at least seems like Getsy is not a good play caller. Where is the "scheming guys open?" There is always a risk with taking coaches from teams with great QBs (look at DEN). It is also easy to run when the defense is giving you that when you are down. This game had some of the worst play calls I have seen and we just had Nagy. Getsy is way too predictable (already) and there is zero innovation in what he is doing. The Giants were literally had a free runner on every play and the Bears rarely, if ever, capitalized on it. Flus is ok, but man, he coaches to not lose (even when losing), and how many times do the Bears need to get beat on the play action bootleg before they address it? Jones had a better rushing day than any other player on the field with 6-68 yards and 2 TDs. Then Tyrod comes in and gets 30 more before getting concussed. Jones only had 8 completions and Gordon still looked bad out there in coverage. Poles drafted Gordon with his first pick. He has been the worst DB in the league using ANY metric, any. He could've taken George Pickens, a WR, who had 6 receptions for 102 yards today with 2 different QBs. To compensate, he drafted the oldest rookie who contributed to the loss today with a muffed punt with no one within 10 yards of him. 2 out of his top 3 picks are not looking good. Jones has been out 3 weeks and is still not part of the offense. So we drafted a "special" teamer with the 3rd round pick? Great. This regime is going to get a free pass on this year because of Fields, but they shouldn't. We just got beat by a team with a new Coach, GM, AND Daniel Jones at QB! This would've looked like rock bottom if they came into the game at 0-2-1. However, if they play like this every week, they will not win a single game in the Division and may eek out 2-3 wins against other teams if they are lucky. Not counting Week 1, the defense has allowed 20+ pts 3 times. In those 3 games the offense did not have a passing TD (12 straight quarters w/o a passing TD) and scored more than 13 once. If the Bears are going to play like this, they need to consider the fire sale by the deadline. Any vet over 28 consider moving, even Roquan and Monty. They aren't going to win much with them, so they might as well reset with some decent draft capital and start over. Are we in football purgatory or what? What did we do to deserve this misery?
  23. Which Cooper, the one that had 4-26 yds combined in Week 1 and 4, or the one that had 16-202 yds, 2 TD in Weeks 3 and 4?
  24. Gordon is arguably the worst starter on any NFL roster. Wow has he been terrible. We could've had Pickens, or even Goedeke or Raimann for the O-Line. I would even take David Bell who has barely played. Romeo Doubs looking pretty good for a 4th right now. Poles really messed this up. At the quarter point of the season, this looks ugly and it doesn't look like it is going to get any better any time soon.
  25. You can't. He has been the worst starting QB since last season and nothing has changed, if anything, he has regressed. Receivers are open, he just doesn't throw the ball. He runs into sacks, doesn't react to blitzes (not seeing them). It is going to be a long season playing like this. As much as they said last year's draft class was great, I am not so sure. Fields 11-22, 174 yds, 0 TD, 0 INT, 6 Sacks, 1 FL Lawrence 11-23, 174 yds, 2 TD, 1 INT, 4 Sacks, 4 FL but then: Hurts 16-25, 204 yds, 0 TD, 1 INT Jackson 20-29, 144 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT This might be the saddest one: Dalton (vs MIN) - 20-28, 71.4%, 236 yds, 8.4 Y/A, 1 TD, 0 INT
