  1. He scored 2 TDs against the Bears last year on a total of 5 receptions on the season. In Week 17, he had 3-103, 1 TD against the Bears.

SF's 2021 draft already looking suspect: Trey Lance, Aaron Brooks, Trey Sermon (cut) as their first 3 picks in rounds 1-3.
  3. Biggs is saying that they will put Harry on after 3pm so he will get the IR-Return Designation which allows the 21 day ramp up period (before activation). That also means the Bears need another WR.

    Poor Mitch

Yep, I agree. Nagy didn't help him though. He is probably a career backup, spot starter type of QB. He can even come in for some gadget plays or the Wildcat.
  5. Weatherford is a beast: Outside of 12 pounds, he is a taller, faster Roquan (minus the instincts).
  6. Current 53-man, after first waive of cuts (31 AUG): QB: Fields, Siemian RB: Montgomery, Herbert, Ebner, Blasingame, Tonges TE: Kmet, Griffin, Wesco WR: Mooney, St. Brown, Pringle, Jones, Pettis, Harry, Sharpe-IR OT: Jones, Borom, Reiff OG: Whitehair, Jenkins, Carter, Leatherwood (OT/OG?) OC: Patrick, Mustipher DE: Quinn, Muhammad, Gipson, Robinson, Kingsley DT: Jones, Blackson, Pennel, Watts LB: Smith, Morrow, Sanborn, Adams, Weatherford CB: Johnson, Gordon, Vildor, Jackson, Jones, Blackwell S: Jackson, Brisker, DHC, Cruikshank, Hicks P: Gill K: Santos LS: Scales
  7. It looks like they expect to have him back before Week 4.
  8. Whoa, Tajae Sharpe put on IR, not Harry. Joe Thomas released.
  9. Interesting to see that 3 were UDFAs this year. No surprise there is at least one from Philly (Asst GM) and one from Indy. Alex Leatherwood, OL (Las Vegas Raiders) - 1st Round 2021 Trevon Wesco, TE (New York Jets) - 4th Round 2019 Armon Watts, DL (Minnesota Vikings) - 6th Round 2019 Josh Blackwell, DB (Philadelphia Eagles) - UDFA 2022 Kingsley Jonathan, DL (Buffalo Bills) - UDFA 2022 Sterling Weatherford, LB (Indianapolis Colts) - UDFA 2022 6 spots need to be created with 3 cuts and at least 1 IR (Harry), means 2 more cuts. I am assuming they will stay fairly consistent on replacement positions outside Harry. So Harry > Wesco Thomas > Leatherwood Tonga > Watts Shelley > Blackwell DL/DE > Kingsley LB > Weatherford My guess is Caleb Johnson to IR for Weatherford. It will be interesting to see what they do for Kingsley, probably one of the young DBs (Jones or Jackson).
  10. Harry expected to go to IR. Tavon Young on season ending IR.
  11. First 53-man: QB: Fields, Siemian RB: Montgomery, Herbert, Ebner, Blasingame, Tonges TE: Kmet, Griffin WR: Mooney, St. Brown, Pringle, Jones, Pettis, Sharpe, Harry OT: Jones, Borom, Reiff OG: Whitehair, Jenkins, Carter, Thomas OC: Patrick, Mustipher DE: Quinn, Muhammad, Gipson, Robinson DT: Jones, Blackson, Tonga, Pennel LB: Smith, Morrow, Sanborn, Thomas, Adams, Johnson CB: Johnson, Gordon, Vildor, Shelley, Jackson, Jones S: Jackson, Brisker, DHC, Cruikshank, Hicks P: Gill K: Santos LS: Scales
  12. Waived: Allen, Coulter, Dew-Treadway, Eiselen, Evans, Finke, Gates, Graham Jr, Kamara, Simmons, Snowden, AJ. Thomas, Tuggle, Webster. Cut: Coleman, Coley, Edwards, Harris, Peterman, Schofield, Stroman Other: O'Shaughnessy, Young
  13. That makes a lot of sense. Edwards, Coley, and Schofield are the surprises so far.
  14. My assumption is they are clearing space to sign other guys that got cut from other teams. That would be the only logical explanation.
  15. CBs: CB Darqueze Dennard CB Malcolm Butler CB De'Vante Bausby
  16. Some WR cuts of note, interested in any of these guys? WR Auden Tate WR Geronimo Allison WR Isaiah Ford WR Laquon Treadwell WR Marvin Hall WR Mohamed Sanu WR Albert Wilson
  17. Chicago Bears WR Kevin Shaa C Corey Dublin S Jon Alexander WR Dazz Newsome OT Julie'n Davenport FB Jake Bargas DT LaCale London CB BoPete Keyes DL Carson Taylor LB Christian Albright LB C.J. Avery TE Rysen John LB Noah Dawkins S Michael Joseph (injured) CB Jayson Stanley (injured) LB Javin White (injured)

If the Bears can neutralize Bosa, chip, screen game, run at him, bootleg and rollouts away from him, I think the offense can score. On defense, it is stopping the run and stopping Deebo. I would almost have Johnson follow Deebo or at least when he is on the outside, then Gordon when he is in the slot. I think they will attack Vildor if he is starting.

    Heads Up

We need to change the reply header to white text, the black on navy blue is barely readable (at least of me).
  20. There were 6 teams worse than the Bears last year. None of those teams did anything that would make me believe they would leapfrog the Bears. Then you have Seattle, Atlanta, and Washington all with one more win than the Bears. I could easily see the Bears better than all 3. Then you have an 8-9 Cleveland team w/o a QB and Minnesota both with 8 wins. I could see the Bears somewhere in the mix with those two teams between 7-9 wins.
  21. It makes no sense to trade a starting caliber RG on his 2nd year of a rookie deal. The media are like sharks, blood in the water. They all want to get the scoop or be the one that is quoted asking a specific question or a snarky question. What a way to live. They need to move on from asking Jenkins about being traded. For Fields, he has 3 things against him, Ohio St QB, Bears QB, and Black QB. That is a lot of stigmas to overcome. Everything he does wrong will be amplified and anything he does right will be lessened (it's only preseason, the WRs ran good routes, anyone can make that throw). He has 10x the critics than he does in backers. The only way to stop the noise now is to ball out.
  22. NFL+ has a free trial for the first month. Watched the entire game there, CLE broadcast though, very homer-ish.

That would be a great bet. The Bears allowed 33 pts and were a PAT away from tying it late before the defense laid an egg last year. The Bears didn't have Montgomery or Mack in that game. Vildor was starting at CB. Just by adding Brisker and Gordon, this defense will be better. Deebo was basically unstoppable, he had 6 receptions for 171 yards and Mitchell had 18 carries for 137 yards. Way too many chunk plays. I can't see them allowing 30+ pts again. Lance is the QB now. He has started 1 away game in his entire career (@ARZ - 15/29, 192 yds, 51.7% Comp, 6.6 Y/A, 0 TD, 1 INT, 2 sacks, 16/89 rushing, a 17-10 loss). On offense, the Bears scored 22 pts and Fields had 175 passing yards and 103 rushing yards. I feel like they will have more of a balanced attack this time under Getsy. Fields last home game (vs MIN - 26/39, 285 yds, 66.7% Comp, 7.3 Y/A, 1 TD, 0 INT, 7/35 rushing, 1 FL, 17-9 loss). I am thinking a close game within 3 pts of each other both scoring in the mid-20s. Bears at home, so I will give the edge to them 24-21.
