  1. Wow this is crazy. Hopefully he is innocent, but if not, he is done.
  2. He failed the physical, which is part of the process. Every team in the league would do the same thing. Poles even said he was open to signing him later. Larry O may not want to come back but he at least knows the Bears are interested.

It's borderline criminal that Nagy was given a head coaching position and allowed to run an offense. ARob had an interview and he talked about how he is happy to be able to run the entire route tree again, implying that Nagy limited him to specific routes. There was another article that talked about how the Bears had specific plays in the RZ only for Graham, and that Kmet didn't get many RZ targets, again due to Nagy's incompetence.
  4. In regards to Monty, I could also see a mid season trade. Instead of rolling the dice on a comp pick (especially if they are planning to sign several), take a 5th or 6th rounder and be happy.
  5. I was wondering why they passed on Pickens in the 2nd: I didn't know he had a recent injury. Also, he seems like a head case, who does this when they are drafted? So we will see if Pickens with Trubisky outproduces Jones with Fields. Pickens would have to be significantly better than Jones, otherwise, the Bears made the right call.
  6. This guy says Jets put Wilson in the best position to succeed. Here is my reply: I would take our top 5 WRs over Berrios, Moore, Davis, Wilson, and Mims. Kmet is better than Ozumah, and our RB corps is better than theirs easy. Outside of OLine, it is not like Wilson has a ton of high end weapons. Wilson may be the best, but he is just a rookie.
  7. Ah yes, I forgot about Cruikshank and DHC in there for DIME packages. Larry O would be a huge addition, even if he misses a month or so. Even if it was 6 games, then come in for the MNF game against NE would be great.

He looks better. Also, watch his feet. Getsy wants him leading with his right foot instead of his left. Something to watch in the offseason and preseason. That was part of his problem with timing. The step count didn't match the routes (thanks Nagy!).

    Play Action

I thought I saw something about Fields being one of the best QBs using play action last season as well, yet Nagy basically abandoned it because it was too close to running the ball.
  10. Gordon, Johnson, Brisker, Jackson with Young/Graham makes for an extremely talented starting secondary, something the Bears haven't had in a long time.

Yeah, and that little hop kills the timing on a bunch of throws. So we should expect the ball to come out faster and to hit more players in stride. One other thing, Nagy basically called 90% of the passes to a stationary receiver. Which basically kills the play right there and allows the defense to swarm immediately to the ball. That killed any chance at explosive plays. I expect several more this year.

The Bears should hire him as one of their Social Media ambassadors so he can rehab and train at the facility. He is very popular online and he is a pretty funny guy. Back to back major injuries for a guy who's main game is quickness and change of direction is not a good sign.
  13. Those guys have so much knowledge about the game. This is long overdue. It also helps build back the Monsters of the Midway culture that has been lost since Lovie left.
  14. Cool articles, thanks for posting. As much as the media talks about how poor our WR corps is, we actually have a pretty diverse group. Last year we had Goodwin and Byrd as our WR3/4, but this year it is Jones, Moore, St. Brown, Sharpe, and Pettis all competing for WR3/4/5. If you pencil Mooney/Pringle in as WR1/2, that is not much different than ARob/Mooney, and as long as Pringle doesn't give up on half his routes like ARob did, that will be an upgrade from last year. Then when you consider just how bad Nagy's offense really was, there is no way as a whole the offense is going to be worse. When you look at the running game, is there a RB room better than Montgomery, Herbert, Ebner, Evans, and Blasingame? Look at some Titans tape and see how many times Blasingame opened up a huge hole for Henry. It looks like the Bears have replaced one of the H-backs with a FB, and I love it. Ebner is the perfect 3rd Down back as well. People complained about how bad Graham was at TE last year, so the Bears replace him with some veterans and we somehow got worst there too. Griffin (50 catch season with Titans) and O'Shaughnessy (averages 26 recs a year over last 2 for terrible Jags team) are perfectly fine as TE2/3. The good thing is Kmet won't have to come off the field to just give Graham some random reps anymore. He can be a true TE1 which he technically hasn't been yet. I am honestly not worried about any skill positions, it's going to come down to the O-Line. Can the tackles (and RG) give Fields time in this new offense to make plays?

    2022 Schedule

Some schedule perks: Never travel west of Dallas, all games Eastern or Central time. No international games 4 straight weeks at home with bye in the middle Bye later in the year vs earlier TNF followed by MNF creates a mini-bye between weeks 6 and 7 The travel distance is a big deal. It wastes valuable recovery time with huge dudes on little planes. Also, getting that mini bye after TNF at that point in the schedule is huge. 6 weeks, then mini bye, then 7 weeks, full bye, then 4 weeks to finish the season. It gives the players some extra days off and the coaching staff extra time for adjustments. The bad: 3 road trips that have back-to-back road games, 2nd road game may be a little tougher Packers on road in Week 2 in Prime Time Packers, Bye, Eagles, Bills may equal a quick 0-3 wasting the bye XMas Eve game is a Saturday game, creating another short week It was tough to find many bad things about the schedule. You are going to have some road trips, but this year, none are long flights. The Bears always get the Packers early. There will always be a tough stretch of games, and at least the short weeks are home games. The more I look at it, the more I like it. Outside of Bills, no team really scares me. Dallas craps the bed 2-3 times a year and loses games they shouldn't and we don't know what the Packers will look like without their starting Center, a chunk of their offensive staff and one of the starting WRs from last year.

    2022 Schedule

The Bears have the 8th easiest SoS and one of the easiest QB slates in the league. If Fields takes a leap this year, we are going to be competitive: 1: 49ers Jimmy G/Lance - the Bears almost beat SF last year. Toss up at home. 2: at GB SNF Rodgers - Loss 3: Texans Mills - Fields vs Mills? Fields, Win 4: at NYG Jones - Fields vs Jones? Fields, Win 5: at Vikings Cousins - Split with MIN, Loss 6: Commanders TNF Wentz - Fields vs Wentz, at home on TNF - Win 7: at Patriots MNF Jones - Fields vs Jones, but on the road in NE, Loss 8: at Cowboys Dak - Loss 9: Dolphins Tua - Fields vs Tua, at home, toss up 10: Lions Goff - Lions improved but still Lions, Win 11: at Falcons Mariota - Fields vs Mariota, toss up 12: at Jets Wilson - Fields vs Wilson, toss up 13: Packers Rodgers - Loss 14: Bye week 15: Eagles Hurts - Loss 16: Bills (Xmas Eve) Allen - Loss 17: at Lions (New Years Day) Goff - Win 18: Vikings Cousins - Win 6-7 with 4 toss ups. Split the 4 (2 at home, 2 away), and the Bears realistically can go 8-9 without too much craziness. If they lose all 4 of the toss ups, then things did not go as planned with Fields. However, if he plays like some expected him to last year, this team may still be in the hunt coming out of the bye with 4 to play.

    2022 Schedule

1: 49ers 2: at GB SNF 3: Texans 4: at NYG 5: at Vikings 6: Commanders TNF 7: at Patriots MNF 8: at Cowboys 9: Dolphins 10: Lions 11: at Falcons 12: at Jets 13: Packers 14: Bye week 15: Eagles 16: Bills (Xmas Eve) 17: at Lions (New Years Day) 18: Vikings
  18. Sharpe had a lot of good advanced metric stats like comp% when targeted, etc. Out of all the original FA WRs, he was one of the 4-5 guys I liked from an age, potential, price standpoint. So I am glad they got him. Comparing the WR rooms from last year to this year, they are very comparable, if not better this year based on potential: Robinson, Mooney, Goodwin, Byrd, Newsome > Mooney, Pringle, Sharpe, Jones, Moore/Pettis/St. Brown/Newsome St. Brown was good enough to stay on the GB roster all year and was their WR5. He may not even make the opening day roster or will at least have to battle for WR5 with Moore, Pettis and Newsome. Sharpe played in more percentage of snaps for the Falcons than Goodwin did for the Bears. Interesting to see Byrd on the Falcons now and Sharpe on the Bears. Pace signing all his old players. Best Seasons from new WRs: Pringle 42-568, 5 TD Sharpe 41-522, 2 TD Pettis 27-467, 5 TD Moore 35-417, 6 TD St. Brown 21-328, 0 TD All of these guys have been WR3-5s, so it will be interesting to see what they can do with more targets and snaps.

It really sucks for him and his family. The regret sucks, hindsight is always 20/20. All you can do is be better now and in the future. One aspect about the article that gets me is if you take his situation and remove the pro sports contract. How many people are living that way right now without the luxury of a family member making hundreds of thousands/millions of dollars? I hope he is able to make it back on the field. If not, he should continue his gaming career as he was a very popular streamer.

    Joke of an article

Good point. A lot of these players are hungry and effort is what makes them overachieve. someone has to lose the games. However, if you look at the Bears schedule, it is not like 7 or 8 wins is out of the question either. For the national audience and media, they don't follow the team like we do. They just see the big names. Mack traded, Hicks, Goldman, Robinson, Trevathan gone. Then say oh my god, who did they replace them with, not realizing none of those guys were massive contributors last year. Mack's first game as a Bear was his best, but never consistently played at the level he was paid for. Hicks and Trevathan were always injured and Goldman and Robinson were playing below replacement level players. If you replace those guys with league-average players, as a group, the team will actually be better. Then you upgrade at the biggest hole on the roster - CB2, get a huge upgrade at SS, and address the biggest hole on offense at Center, all while having a better coaching staff and roster depth. The offense was so bad last year and it was mainly due to Nagy's incompetence. The offense may not be great, but they are not going to be as bad as last year. Pringle will easily match ARob's production, and the rest of the WR room will replace what Goodwin and Byrd did. I love the addition of Sharpe and Pettis. We now have some competition at WR3/4 with Jones, Sharpe, Pettis and St. Brown. If we opened the season with the top 5 WRs of Mooney, Pringle, Sharpe, Jones, and Pettis. That is not a bad room.
  21. Better than Willis with starting experience to go with Siemian.
  22. We got Sharpe. Now let's get a few more vets at IDL, OG, and LB and we will be good to go.
  23. Tajae Sharpe is someone I wanted. He was one of the best WRs at getting separation. Pringle was top 5. Mooney, Pringle, Sharpe, Pettis, and Jones is a decent top 5 WR group.
  24. Ugh, I felt like Horsted had a lot of potential but wasn't given a fair shot. He always flashed when he got on the field. He ends his Bears career with more TDs than Kmet. It looks like Horsted failed his physical, that's interesting. I didn't know he was hurt. Rysen John was on the Giants and has never played in an NFL game yet, he is 24.
  25. So some dude on Bleacher Report writes (use the term loosely) on the 6 teams he is betting on to not hit their win total and that are overrated. He thinks the Bears will not hit 6.5 wins, which may be true but he clearly doesn't know who is on this team or their schedule. So Mooney, Kmet, or Johnson are not established starters apparently. Stopgap?
