  1. There is no way. At most I could see him coming back as a QB Coach, but not as a coordinator, especially calling plays. Goff is already bad, I can't imagine how much worse he would look in a Matt Nagy offense. The only other reason to hire him is you have an easy scapegoat if it doesn't work.
  2. Hilarious flip flopping. There are sooo many new reports and tweets that said Harbaugh to Minnesota was a done deal. This is so funny. Minnesota with another L.
  3. Nice work Mongo. I would love Olave, especially that deep in the 2nd. That would definitely be a haul. I would be happy with 5 of those guys, let alone 10.
  4. More fun for Jackson, Williams was the Colts Safeties Coach. Jackson is either going to turn it around and have a great year or he will be traded/cut. I don't see a scenario where he is on the team and playing like he has over the last few years.
  5. I believe that is when the decision was made. You could tell by the Nagy news conferences, he was clearly acting different. The guy was over his head from day 1 but Fangio carried him until he left.
  6. This feels much different than Pace and Nagy. Since Pace arrived, he never really said anything. He said a lot words, but they didn't really mean anything. Then he hired Nagy, who was Mr. Word Salad. These guys actually provided some details on how they are going to run things, compared to just saying we want to win. I liked how Poles answered the question about analytics. O-Line is going to be a huge focus, I can't wait to see what he does with the line. Eberflus saying that HC was too important to call plays is literally the polar opposite of Nagy, who probably would say he could run the defense and Special Teams too. It seem like Roquan and Monty are the model players for Eberflus, I almost expect Monty to be extended because of the hire. I would not be surprised if Jackson is cut or traded, along with Goldman. Jackson has become a diva and Goldman would have a stack of loafs in his locker after every game. If Poles/Eberflus want to change the culture, those two are gone. How about Fields at the presser? I thought that was cool and that Fields made the comment about how a Defensive HC can help him by telling him what the defense is trying to do to him pre and post-snap. That insight is huge for his development. It's like playing chess from both sides of the board.
  7. I would rather have Cincy win. We beat Cincy, so we could say by proxy that the Bears are better than the SB champions. Also, LAR is in the NFC, so by default, they are the enemy. I don't care for McVay, Stafford, or Beckham. McVay gets credit as the offensive mastermind (like Shanahan does) but in 2018 when they had the #1 offense and lost the SB, they had Gurley in his prime, and Kupp was their #3 WR behind Woods and Cooks (who both had 1200 yard seasons). It is pretty easy to have a great offense when you have players like that. Now with Stafford, somehow they have a worse offense than they had with Goff in 2018. Stafford has always been a stat accumulator and somewhat overrated. Now he goes to a stacked team and is all of a sudden a top 5 QB. He literally threw the game losing INT right to a defender that dropped it only to have Jimmy G show him how it's done.
  8. Yep, someone said he was the first QB in a long time to be at the press conference for the new HC and GM. Trubisky wasn't for Nagy, Cutler wasn't for Trestman or Emery.
  9. OC: Getsy QB Coach: Pep Hamilton? WR: RB: Oline: Callahan interview? TE: DC: Dline: LB: Dave Borgonzi DB: James Rowe SP Team: Rich Bisaccia? I like that we are getting staff from winning programs, Poles - KC, Cunningham - PHI, Eberflus, Borgonzi, Rowe - IND, Getsy - GB. These guys know what it takes to win.
  10. AZ it is my understanding that you can't use any post-June 1 money until after June 1st, so none of that could be used for the first few waves of free agency. So there is a chance they designate someone like that to have money for the training camp cut downs, but if you want to use the cap savings in free agency before the draft, it is just a normal cut and reduced cap savings. I expect that Poles is going to turnover at least a 1/3 of the roster, which is pretty easy with the amount of guys unsigned. What is interesting is any Bears UFA is now no different than any other UFA to Poles.
  11. Here is a good snippet video of Getsy, talking footwork and rhythm as you go thru progression. He even mentions things like being late with your feet will result in sacks. From all accounts, Getsy is a QB "specialist" and if he got experience with maybe the best QB ever, that can't hurt.
  12. Oh, I agree, Pace and Nagy should've been fired after the 2020 season, absolutely. They got a free pass due to COVID, so we got to experience Groundhog's Day for another year in 2021 watching the same thing from 2020.
  13. Based on Getsy hire, here are the GB UFAs based on snap counts: DeVondre Campbell, LB - 91.6% Lucas Patrick, LG - 81.6% Davante Adams, WR - 79.4% Chandon Sullivan, CB - 76.6% Rasul Douglas, CB - 63.0% Marquez Valdes-Scantling, WR - 40.8% Corey Bojorquez, P - 32.3% Robert Tonyan, TE - 29.9% Kevin King, CB - 28.1%
  14. Based on Cunningham hire, here are the Philly UFAs based on snap counts: Steve Nelson, CB - 87.2% Anthony Harris, S - 74.2% Rodney McLeod, S - 60.7% Hassan Ridgeway, IDL - 33.1% Genard Avery, LB - 31.8%
  15. Hackett went from OC who didn't call plays to HC and Getsy went from QB Coach and Passing Game Coordinator to OC.
  16. I know there was some consideration for Quinn or Caldwell because they were veteran coaches compared to Nagy, but looking at Eberflus, he has been coaching since Nagy was 16. Here is just their NFL coaching experience: Nagy (5 yrs as Coach or Coordinator) KC QB Coach 13-15 KC OC 16-17 Eberflus (13 yrs as Coach or Coordinator) CLE LB Coach 09-10 DAL LB Coach 11-15 DAL LB Coach 16-17 IND DC 18-21 Eberflus has over double the amount of overall time and double the amount of years as a Coordinator. Even though he is a first time HC, Eberflus is way more experienced at coaching than Nagy even is today.
  17. He ignored Mitch and didn't do exit interviews, which is a league wide standard. ARob didn't talk with Nagy from the Saints playoff loss until JULY! How is that possible?
  18. Apparently, Pace avoided conflict at all costs. So he would never intervene with things like this. Nagy seems to be an idiot who was overwhelmed as a HC. That is now abundantly clear. How did he not have end-of-season interviews with his players, especially someone like ARob, in his situation, coming off the year he had? ARob had 1250 rec yds and 102 receptions when the leading QB only had 2055 passing yards who was coming up on free agency. Unbelievable. You are right, the Mitch story now seems true, and I bet more stories will come out over time. It really is unbelievable. Eberflus and Poles are the polar opposites of Nagy and Pace. I have way more faith in them to get it right than I did for Pace and Nagy. To me it was evident after the 2019 season. They road Fangio's defense and once he left they got exposed as frauds. They may get another job in the NFL with one of their buddies but I don't see them ever getting a job at the same level again.
  19. Hearing Sanjay Lal, the Jags WR Coach is interviewing for the OC position. There are a lot of reports that he did not get along with Urban Meyer and was one of the coaches that got a lot of flak from Meyer. Don't know what to make of it but the Jags were a mess. Trying to get some history on him, Jags WR Coach in 2021, Seattle Senior Off Asst in 2020, Cowboys WR Coach from 2018-2019, Colts WR Coach in 2017, Bills WR Coach from 15-16, Jets WR Coach from 12-14, and Raiders WR Coach from 09-11 and Off Quality from 07-08. So 7 different teams in 12 years. Doesn't look like a promising resume. Trying to find the connection to Eberflus or Poles, but I don't see any. Jags leading WR this year was Marvin Jones, and 2nd was Laviska Shenault. In 2019, he had Cooper and Gallup (both over 1100 yds). In 2018, no WR had more than 725 yds. TY Hilton in 2017 with 966 yds. In 2016, the leading WR was Robert Woods with 613 yds. In 2015 Watkins had 1047 yds. In 2014, Decker had 904 yds. In 2013, Kerley led the team with 523 yds. In 2012, Kerley had 827 yds. In 2011, Heyward-Bey had 975 yds. In 2010, Louis Murphy had 609 yds. In 2009, Murphy had 521 yds. That is his resume. So in 12 yrs as a WRs coach, he has produced 3 1K yard seasons and has coached in 7 seasons where no WR had more than 850 yds. Robert Woods didn't do much in BUF, then went to LAR and became a top receiver. This hire scares me, this guy doesn't even have the resume to be a good WR coach. For some reason most of the teams he was on were terrible.
  20. Hearing that Dave Borgonzi is a great LBs Coach. Can you imagine Roquan getting better? Holy crap. If the Bears do go more traditional 4-3, they are going to need some Will and Sam LBs.

    Ryan Poles next GM

Also, Poles is coming from KC who is now in their 7th straight playoff appearance, 4th straight AFC Championship game and with a win would be in their 3rd straight Super Bowl. I want personnel from that front office, they are clearly doing something right. I hope Poles brings in others from that staff.
  22. Goldman and Jackson, lol, with the number of "loafs" they would get, they would call them bakers.
  23. Possiby Bill Callahan as O-Line Coach: After OC, O-Line Coach may be the next most important hire.
