  1. Whoa, if this is even partially true: Talk about a shitshow.
  2. Once Schoen went to NY, it was pretty obvious where Daboll would land. With the Giants situation, we will now see who got it right (Schoen/Daboll in NYG) or (Poles/Eberflus in CHI).
  3. I wanted Daboll, but there may be a separation for how much a HC can do for a QB when he is managing the entire team compared to him as an OC only worrying about the offense. With Eberflus, the OC and the QB Coach are going to be the important hires for sure.
  4. Added the confirmed in bold, some interviews/candidates non-bold
  5. CBs coach James Rowe and LBs coach Dave Borgonzi are on board.
  6. That would be a stacked coaching staff, wow. I would be highly impressed. On a side note, please get rid of Furrey.
  7. Also potentially Rich Bisaccia as ST Coordinator/Coach.
  8. I am hearing Luke Getsy from GB is a possible OC option.
  9. Looks like he started quite a few games. Here is the snap count % of the O-Line UFAs from KC and IND: Orlando Brown, LT - 94.4% of snaps Andrew Wylie, LG - 44.1% of snaps Eric Fisher, LT - 78.5% of snaps Mark Glowinksi, RG - 75.9% of snaps Chris Reed, LG - 46.9% of snaps
  10. It is going to be interesting. Poles and Eberflus are better off than Pace and Fox was. The team is better postured for the future, even with a few of the older guys. My thought is they use Mack and Quinn one more year in the 4-3, then look to move them next year, unless an offer comes up that you can't refuse. It would depend on what Poles would use the cap space on or how much dead money they would incur with a trade.
  11. A little bit of both. I have a feeling we are going to have a pretty solid staff. Not guys like Helfrich or Lazor. I really hope Furrey is gone. WR's outside of Mooney have been a disappointment and extremely undisciplined (Miller, Wims, etc).
  12. One of my biggest complaints of Nagy was he was trying to handle too much. Just be a HC. I don't think there are many people that can be a HC/OC and play caller and manage all of that at the highest level. Offenses are too complex for that. Then you add QB development on top of that? No way. Shanahan is doing it in SF, but with a veteran QB. McVay is doing it in LA, but with a veteran QB. McVay didn't develop Goff, he got rid of him. Nagy did the same with Trubisky and didn't develop Fields. Mainly because there is only so much time in the day to handle all those tasks. In a way, you could almost see that from Nagy by the end. Canned answers, didn't know things about the team or didn't see plays because he was distracted with other things. The same exact team with a guy like Eberflus, and the Bears easily win 2-3 more games a year. They just need to bring in a competent OC and QB coach. BLUF, I like that we hired a Defensive minded coach because he is not going to try to split his time and water down the offense.
  13. OC: Mike McDaniel, Joe Brady, Mike Kafka, and Pep Hamilton Why McDaniel, he is the brains behind Shanahan's game, however, with Shanahan calling plays as HC, McDaniel doesn't get to do that. He may want to leave so he can be the play caller. The team may have to give him an Asst. HC title, but who cares? Brady got fired after the Panthers started out 5-7, but Rhule really should've been fired. Brady was coaching at LSU in 2019 with Burrow. Kafka, St. Rita and Northwestern Grad, played QB and has been the QB Coach in KC since 2018. Hamilton, has been on 7 different teams (wow), has been a position coach since 2004. Has a ton of experience and has worked with a lot of different QBs. Can he make the jump to coordinator?
  14. and due to Eberflus, here are some Indy UFAs: Eric Fisher, LT Mark Glowinksi, RG Zach Pascal, WR Mo Alie-Cox, TE George Odum, S Chris Reed, LG
  15. Here are a few more names: Tyrann Mathieu, S Jarran Reed, IDL Chavarius Ward, CB Mike Hughes, CB Ben Niemann, LB Demarcus Robinson, WR Jerick McKinnon, RB Derrick Nnadi, IDL Orlando Brown, LT Andrew Wylie, LG
  16. Got my #2. I still would've preferred Daboll, but now it comes down to the OC.

    Ryan Poles next GM

I trust Poles to get the O-Line fixed. He was part of KC revamping their entire O-Line in one offseason without killing the cap. For me, it will be interesting to see what he does with the pending FAs and some of the guys who seem like no brainer cuts (Goldman, etc).

    Ryan Poles next GM

He is a guy that builds from the trenches. The 2020 O-Line got decimated by injuries. In 2021, according to Football Outsiders, the KC O-Line was 5th in Power Success and 4th in Pass Pro. The Bears were 24th and 32nd respectively. So if Poles can build an O-Line half as good as KC's was this year, it will be twice as good as the Bears O-Line last year. Not only would a better O-Line help Fields, but Monty and Herbert could even be better than they already are.

    Ryan Poles next GM

I was concerned that they would wait too long on the GM, and too many coaches would come available from the losing playoff teams (ie. Daboll, etc). This is perfect, now Poles can interview candidates on his own and come up with the HC selection.
