Yep, Jenkins looked like a guy who has played football in over a year. Let's just throw him in at LT on SNF on the road. Outside of Fields and Jenkins, what else is there to watch? I have really soured on Mooney. He can't make contested catches and has way too many balls go off his hands that turn into INTs. How many of Fields INTs were Mooney targets? He is fading to a WR3 for me. Of his 3x 100 yd games, 2 are against the Lions and the other was against the Ravens where he was targeted 16 times and only caught 5 passes. ARob can just go on IR. I don't want to see him in a Bears jersey again. The minute he got hit with the franchise tag, he checked out. Good riddance.

The 2nd half showed Nagy's ineptitude as a HC. Zero adjustments on offense. Outside of the Pick-6, the Bears were outplaying the Packers in every phase in the first half. Once Smith went out, you could tell the defense just didn't have the horses, which sucks because up until that point, they were hanging in there. What also sucks is the officials impacted the game again. They called Vildor on a bogus penalty when the Packers muffed the punt. That ended up being a 14 point swing. What should seal Nagy's fate is that was the punt where he punted on 4th and 1 down 11. Two weeks in a row, he put his tail between his legs and basically gave the game away. Then the officials took over. On the punt where Grant stumbled backwards, there was a Packers play running 5 yards in the Bears sideline making no attempt to get back onto the field. That was not called, but Vildor's was, who immediately came back onto the field. The Packers covered. The Bears could've been going for a 44 yard FG to win it on the last drive after the onside kick.

With that loss the Bears are eliminated from realistic playoff contention. They need to fire Nagy now.

Offensive Balance? The Bears have rushed 17 times (counting Fields scrambles) and attempted 16 passes. Mooney is looking terrible and weak, I would stop throwing to him. Kmet still can't get separation, they need to look to James or Graham more. No WR or TE has more than 2 receptions for the Bears. Adams has been targeted 6 times for the Packers.
-
The Bears have receptions of 54, 46, and 19 with 2x 20 yard runs. The Packers have receptions of 38, 32, 25, and 20. The Bears secondary is terrible. Jackson had his first PBU of the season, then whiffed on Adams TD catch and hit Crawford instead, who is now out of the game. Talk about a double negative. Can we just shoot Jackson to the moon. He is the leader of the worst secondary in the league. Outside of Johnson, everyone else is terrible. Lazard has 4 receptions on 4 targets, the TEs have 5 receptions on 5 targets. They all have been wide open uncontested catches. That has to be fixed.

One of the wildest 2nd quarters I can remember, 45 pts total, Bears scored 24, Packers 21. The Bears go into the half with a 27-21 lead and the Packers offense has only scored 14 points. The quarter saw a Pick-6, a Punt Return TD, 2 Bears TD catches over 46 yards, a Packers TD catch of 38 yards, and a Packers 4th Down conversion for a TD. I didn't expect a shootout but it looks like it is going to take 35+ to win this one. I feel like the Bears need to put up 17 more (41 pts) to win this. 27 pts matches the season-high in a game (against PIT). The Bears have allowed 33 or more points 4 times, and lost all 4 games. If you count the PIT and CLE games, they are 0-6 when they allow 26 or more.
-
The Bears had a 10-0 lead, it's now 14-10 Packers and their offense only scored 7. The Bears are the poster child on the different ways to lose games.

God Mooney is so weak, come back to the QB, what a lazy route. Pick 6, Mooney lets the DB jump in front of him, come on man.
-
The Grant TD was a great play call and execution. Jenkins in for Peters, holding his own so far. Offense needs to stay efficient and not turn the ball over.

Quick slants are killing the defense, need to figure out how to take those away. As well as the pick plays. Need to know when to swap players.

Bears with 2 scoring drives to GB's 1. Bears need pts going into the half.

After 12/12 early and afternoon games, the Bengals had a chance to really help the Bears but ultimately crapped the bed in OT against SF. WC2 SF 7-6 ATL-W, TEN-L, HOU-W, LAR-L 9-8 (6-6) WC3 WAS 6-7 PHI-L, DAL-L, PHI-W, NYG-W 8-9 (7-5) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1 MIN 6-7 CHI-L, LAR-L, GB-L, CHI-L 6-11 (4-8) 2 PHI 6-7 WAS-W, NYG-W, WAS-L, DAL-L 8-9 (6-6) 3 ATL 6-7 SF-L, DET-W, BUF-L, NO-W 8-9 (5-7) 4 NO 6-7 TB-L, MIA-L, CAR-W, ATL-L 7-10 (5-7) 5 CAR 5-8 BUF-L, TB-L, NO-L, TB-L 5-12 (3-9) 6 SEA 5-8 LAR-L, CHI-L, DET-W, ARZ-L (3-9) 7 CHI 4-8 GB-L, MIN-W, SEA-W, NYG-W, MIN-W 8-9 (6-6) 8 NYG 4-9 DAL-L, PHI-L, CHI-L, WAS-L 4-13 WAS has the easiest schedule going forward which is really going to aid them in the last 4 weeks. At worst they need to go 2-2 to make the playoffs. To complicate it, they have to play PHI twice, so if PHI wins both, they are in the playoffs, if they split WAS is in. So the Bears need to go 5-0 now to pass WAS. If they lose to GB, but win the last 4, that is only 8-9 and 6-6 in the conference, WAS would win the tiebreaker. The Cincy loss to SF really killed the realistic Bears chances (to go 4-1 in the last 5).

He compliments Mooney very well and would give Fields a big body WR that is also fast.

Cooper would have $6M in dead money, Prescott has $77M in dead money (WOW). So he is not going anywhere until at least 2025. So they could cut Cooper, which would give them $16M in cap space back, but since they are over by $12M, that would give them just enough to sign their rookie pool but would literally have 20+ on minimum deals to fill out their roster.
-
It should but there is a chance it won't. The logical move it fire both, then bring in a new GM to hire a new coach. That is why they need to do it before the 2 week window, so they have enough time to interview and hire a new GM, and that GM can take advantage of the 2 week period for interviews. Otherwise, keeping him after Nagy is gone is wasted time if he is going to also be fired.

I agree, a ton of opportunities and money for that group that didn't exist 20 years ago. When I grew up, it was trade school, you needed to have some kind of tangible skill (carpenter, plumber, electrician, auto, etc) or go into the military, police, or fire.

Cowboys are $12M over the cap already for next year. Cooper is $22M, Elliott is $18M, no way they can afford to sign Gallup. An interesting note, GB and MIN are both over the cap for 2022 already. Cousins $45M against the cap, all would be dead money, immovable. All they can do is restructure and kick dead money down the road. Danielle Hunter making $26M, so between the two, they account for $71M against the Vikings cap for 2022, lol! The Packers are worse, Rodgers is $46M, Za'Darius Smith is $28M, Bakhtiari is $23M, and Kenny Clark is $21M, that's $118M for 4 players, they have $90M left for their remaining roster, lol! They clearly went all in this year and I am assuming know Rodgers won't be back. They can't even sign Adams if they wanted to. Rodgers is going to cost $26M to not be on the roster. So either way, they would have to free up something like $70M to get under the cap and sign Adams to a new deal. That ain't happening.

Does anyone follow, listen to or watch anything from Barstool Sports? I have seen a few things, mainly Big Cat who is a Bears fan, seems like a funny guy. Well, Pat McAfee, former Indy Punter, just signed a $30M a year deal with FanDuel leaving Barstool Sports. First off, that is more than he made in his entire NFL career (which is mind-boggling). Secondly, I can't imagine what ESPN and other networks are paying terrible QBs as analysts (Dan Orlovsky, etc). Besides McAfee, the only other personality of interest in Barstool is Big Cat. I can't imagine he is making anywhere near that much because the entire company is only valued at $200-$400M nowadays, which is just a valuation, and not necessarily gross profits. Barstool with McAfee was valued at $450M when Penn bought an equity chunk of Barstool in September. Since that purchase, Penn stock has tanked almost 50%, and that was before this news. Since the value of Penn shrunk, so does the value of Barstool, now down to probably around $250M or less, but that was with McAfee. I can't imagine what it will be without him. If Big Cat jumps ship, which he should, that would be pretty comical because Portnoy, the Barstool owner, is a big douchebag lol. This is what he had to say about the McAfee deal after the news broke: It seems pretty funny because all the panicked Penn stock owners, mostly Barstool followers, believe that this is a great deal for Barstool because it shows the value in sports betting....... yet McAfee is going to a direct competitor to advertise specifically for FanDuel. That's like saying The Rock in an ad for Ford F150 is good for Chevy Silverado. That is not how that works.

Trade is the only viable option other than resigning him because if you just let him walk, there is no guarantee of compensation.
-
I agree, we need WR, CB, C, and S. The next tier for me is ILB, DL, and more OL.
-
With Fields on his rookie deal, you can lock someone like Monty up easier. To me I am leaning towards extending him as long as he doesn't want top money. If he wants that you let him walk. If he is willing to take only top 10 money, I think they have the money for that. Especially once some of these bigger deals fall off after 2022.

Hicks out for SNF, no way the Bears resign him next year. Too many missed games.
-
Looks like ARob and Hicks might be back as well. This would be a good time for ARob to have a game. He is long overdue and can't be this bad. Hicks in the middle will help against Dillon.

He does and Mustipher actually played better last year, watch the tape. I don't know if he is dealing with an injury or something, or if he was playing on pure adrenaline last year but he was stronger at the point of attack, made fewer mistakes with the snap, and didn't get blown back into the backfield as much last year. Great story and Olin trains with him, so I understand he wants to help the kid out, but if that is the case, it is clear to see what he needs to work on.
-
AG, I have watched a lot of tape. Mustipher gets manhandled by most interior DLinemen. To Mustipher's credit, he has played some elite opponents, but there are plays where he just falls down. Maybe if he worked on his footwork and added some strength, he could be a viable long term solution, but if we are trying to put the best 5 in front of Fields going forward, that is not Mustipher. Great story, UDFA to NFL starter, but we need more consistency out of that position. I am sure every offensive player will improve once they are not playing in a Nagy-stained scheme. Even Mustipher. If we know Mustipher struggles with certain things, do things that limit that exposure. It is not hard. The Bears just run plays to run them. What I do is make a chart of all the 22 starters on offense and defense, add a few rotation pieces as key contributors, and add a few ST guys to come up with your top 30. Then you find the weakest guys of that group and target their replacements in the draft and FA. To me, Mustipher is in the bottom 5 of that top 30 if you consider positional importance to the offense (he touches the ball on every play and needs to be able to read the defense as good as the QB) and performance. WR1 and CB2 are higher than C, but I would put C in the next tier of needs with S and ILB.
