  1. He looked better than pretty much every other RT this year in his limited time (not saying much I know).
  2. I am torn on this too. I don't know how much better Dalton would've done getting hit in under 2 seconds. I feel like Fields issues are ones that need in game reps to fix. I don't know how he learns from the sidelines. At most they are listening to the communications and play calls. There not much of a view from the sidelines.
  3. Funny that this game is on Halloween because it is going to be scary bad. It's pretty telling that a 2-4 team is favored on the road against a 3-4 team. Vegas has zero faith in the Bears. SF is reeling, having lost 4 straight. Their wins are over PHI and DET. This is a bad team. There is no reason the Bears should lose or be underdogs at home against a team like this. Jimmy G has been terrible and they have literally one player on offense you need to worry about, Deebo Samuel. He has more receiving yards than the rest of the team combined. He has more yards and TDs than ARob and Mooney combined. This is a must-win. If you lose to 2-4 team at home for a 3rd straight loss, the HC has to go. I feel like this happens every year, the Bears have some terrible losses, then win again and magically all the problems are gone. This feels like that type of game. SF is on the road, weather is going to be in the low 50's game time. Perfect Bear weather. I think the Bears rebound, have some better success on offense and win 24-17 pretty much eliminating SF from playoff contention at 2-5. Thoughts?
  4. and to think Adams and Jackson have similar contracts...... I would trade ARob for Kevin White right now, that is how bad ARob is playing.
  5. COVID. It gave most people a free pass. I think the org saw the outcome last year as a success. You guys made the playoffs during COVID with Mitch Trubisky at QB? Great job! That is what I think happened. However, if Pace wants to continue working in the league, he has to make some tough decisions and firing Nagy has to be one of them. If he doesn't he is going down with Nagy in the dumpster fire train wreck clown car.
  6. After hearing the press conferences, this is all coaching. Dropped passes, missed assignments, etc. The sideline calls into Fields' headset and tells him he has a free play and to get up to the line and hike the ball. That's why that play looked so bad, no one was ready for it. If you watch the TV copy, the ball is actually hiked while CBS has a graphic on the screen, it was that fast. ARob falls down and the ball is intercepted. Two weeks in a row on plays like that is unacceptable. The Mooney tip interception, this was not a fingertips tip, that was full hands and should've been caught. Kmet on a crucial 3rd down after the long Herbert run, drops an easy first down. Nichols getting ejected for punching a guy. This is all on coaching, discipline, and accountability. Johnson giving 10 yards of cushion then let's his WR run right past him. ARob jogging routes. The list goes on and on. If I am coaching, I'm benching players left and right. You want a big contract, try to get one from the bench. BLUF: Fire Nagy
  7. Pace also has to think of self-preservation. The only way he keeps his job is if he fires Nagy, which implies Nagy was the problem, not his roster creation. If he rides with Nagy, I think they both are gone after this season.
  8. If they are going to keep Nagy, someone has to be accountable for the WR train wreck.
  9. I agree. Also, what is Nagy's signature dominant win as a head coach after 2018? Most coaches have games they can hang their hat on. In 2019, the Bears beat the Vikings twice (16-6 and 21-19) when the Vikings finished 10-6. In 2020, the Bears beat the 11-5 Bucs with Foles at QB 20-19. That's it, those are the only wins vs winning teams in 2019 and 2020. Nagy and the Bears have been completely schedule and turnover-dependent since 2018. They only win when they win the turnover battle and/or play a bad team. The offense is built to "not lose" instead of trying to win.
  10. I would fire Nagy and Furrey. The WR Corps is one of the worst in the league and had recent discipline problems with Miller and Wims.
  11. It was a odd game. The players were lethargic for the most part. No one seemed to care that they were getting blown out. Why is Fields just sitting on the bench with a dead stare? Get a tablet and coach over to him and go over what went wrong and look at the next play. Players normally converse on the sideline to make adjustments, I didn't see any fire. It was like they didn't want to be there. Zero sacks and only a few splash plays on defense. The offense was Herbert on his own. Embarrassing performance, worse teams at least competed, the Bears gave up. This team is underachieving and the coaches are terrible. Mike Furrey should be fired. The WR room is a mess.
  12. The play calls were horrendous. Zero designed runs, not enough from the gun. Zero help with Simmons to start the game. It feels like Fields is in the wrong system, and no one is getting open. Every catch was contested. Guys tipping balls in the air for easy picks. ARob falling down and on a play where he was told he had a free play. On the fumbles, he had less than 2 seconds on one, and 2.16 on the other. There is nothing any QB is going to be able to do. He literally got back to his drop and was hit. They needed designed keepers and have him take the gap inside the tackle. Fields should be getting better, but not a single offensive player outside of Herbert is stepping up. Zero YAC from receivers. I really hope with Nagy out that Lazor has more flexibility to make a game plan to beat SF. Nagy just needs to stay out until after the bye.
  13. The 7th seed is not normally a playoff team, see Bears 2020, but for how bad that game was, the Bears are still in it. If anyone was watching the other games, SF lost and looked like crap with Jimmy G back starting. They are now 2-4 coming to Chicago. Carolina got destroyed by the Giants and lost a game I had them winning. If the Bears beat SF next week, I would scratch both SF and CAR off the list. That leaves NO, MIN, CHI, and ATL vying for 2 spots. Those are much better odds. MIN plays DAL, NO plays SEA tonight and TB next week and ATL plays CAR. After next week the Bears and Falcons might be WC2/WC3 going into Week 9 where the Bears get the Steelers, Falcons play the Saints (one team will get a loss), and the Vikings play the Ravens. So there is a chance the Bears go into the bye at 5-4 with one of the Wild Card spots and may even have WC2 depending on what the Saints do. The top 2 teams in the AFC are the Bengals and Raiders, both teams the Bears have beat. The Ravens got killed by the Bengals so that game now seems a little easier than it originally was. The Bears have held Rodgers, Brady, Burrows, and Carr all to under 220 passing yards a game. Regardless of the outcome of those games (2-2), that is impressive. Obviously things have to change. Fields needs better protection and better hot routes. WRs have to be better.
  14. If they won't fire Nagy in season, then he needs to fire Mike Furrey. The WR group might be the 2nd or 3rd worst unit on the team, and that is saying ALOT. ARob just had 2 receptions for 16 yards. Daniel Jones, the QB for NYG had a reception for 16 yards. ARob is out there trotting around, reminds me of Jackson. Mooney is dropping passes, and Goodwin and Byrd are non-existent. Outside of OL and Safety, this is the most underachieving group.
  15. Nagy needs to be fired. There is nothing left to do. If you think he hasn't lost this team, I don't know what game you were watching. There was zero anything. The defense made a few nice stops, but those were from one or two guys every time (Smith and DHC). The majority of the team is done. ARob is jogging routes, like all of them. He is never open. Mooney had two balls hit his hands and one went for an INT. You might as well call up Adams. The O-Line needs help. Why in the God's name would you start Simmons and not have someone helping on his side against JPP? This was against TB's 2nd and 3rd string CBs and our WR's could not get open. Embarrasing. The defense gets sort of a pass, but even with short fields, you can't give up 5 TDs in a half. Nichols punching a dude? Jackson a no-show again. I saw more out of DHC back there than Jackson, who now has went 23 games without an INT, 26 games without a sack, 2 TFL in last 26 games, and 0 PDs this season. DHC had a PD and I thought Christian did too.
  16. Now Johnson is taking plays off, wth. He literally stood there while his WR caught the ball and ran right by him.
  17. ARob and Jackson can go. They need to clean house sooner than later. They need to move people before the trading deadline.
  18. Half the players are just going thru the motions. Nagy has clearly lost this team.
  19. Roquan Smith is a beast. Snuffed out the screen for a TFL and quick 3 and out.
  20. I'm sick of the apologists saying he is doing "other" things well. I want to see those.
  21. This game feels off, like the players don't want to be there. Terrible punt coverage leads to easy TD. Both the offense and defense have done nothing.
  22. I'm just watching Eddie Jackson on every defensive snap. He comes up to the LOS then turns his back on Fournette who runs right behind him for a huge gain. Then on TD run, Fournette runs right at Jackson who is there to touch him a yard into the end zone. Ugh.
  23. Mongo, it is truly never ending. How many games were tilted in GB's favor over the years?
  24. Oh yeah, McDaniels is really good as a QB Coach or even an OC, but that's his cap, and that's ok. If Nagy stays, we really need a real OC and not one just by name in Lazor.
