Top FA Targets
I can't believe free agency (legal tampering period) actually starts in just over 36 hours from now at 12pm (Noon) on Monday. The actual league year doesn't start until Wednesday, but with the Bears cap, they are likely to have one or two blue chip dudes locked up before Wednesday. We might even hear some rumblings tomorrow.

Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Bears went from 20 to 11, gave up a 5th (#164), and then next year's 1st and a 5th (#7 and #112). So Fields for #20, #164 in 2021 and #7 and #112 in 2022. To me the 4th and 5th's are very minimal, so its like Fields for #7 and #20. Fields easily could've been a top 3 pick.

Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Looking back at the Goff trade, which was 1 to 15. Everything sort of levels out and the differences in the trade are the following: Bears got DJ Moore and a 2nd (in two years) Titans got a 3rd and a next year's 3rd So to me, clearly the Bears got a lot better deal than the Titans got, which was the last trade up for #1. I had #9 equal to #15 and a 2nd, then the other 2nd's cancel out and the next year's 1st's cancels out.

Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
and that price would be even bigger because none of these QBs are close to Williams, even today. The one thing I was thinking about was how much the Jalen Carter news had to do with the Bears making this move, especially with a team like CAR.

I Never Thought I Would Be Weary Of Mock Drafts!
They are picking other team's based on their expected needs. The best option, which takes some time, is to select ALL the teams and manually pick based on actual BPA and needs. That definitely gets rid of some randomness. I may do that for the top 64 just to see what realistic options will be there at every pick.

Every time I see him I think of the calypso circus music for some reason.

Poles basically got DJ Moore and Claypool in one of the worst WR FA markets in quite some time. That in itself is impressive. Even with adding them, he is still in the top 10, with a total of 4 picks in the first 64, +2x 1st rounders in 2024, and already has 2x 2nd rounders in 2025. My assumption is CAR is a bottom 10 team this year and potentially next year as well making those future picks even more valuable.

We got more than what I thought we would. Thank you Lovie!

Welcome DJ Moore, WR1
Moore comes in with 364-5201 yds, 14.3 Y/R, and 21 TDs. That is over 70 receptions and 1K yards per year. Pretty cool comp I found, 5 years with original team, then traded, stats with original team: Diggs 365-4623 yds, 12.7, 30 TD Moore 364-5201 yds, 14.3, 21 TD Diggs first year in Buffalo: 127-1535, 12.1, 8 TD, All-Pro1, PB Diggs has had 3 straight years with 100 catches, no less than 1225 yds and 8 TDs. This also makes things easier on Mooney and Claypool.

Consensus Big Board Top 10 (25 FEB Edition)
So now who are the Bears picking at #9? I don't think they go WR now with Moore penciled in as WR1, unless they are not sold on Mooney as WR2. If they are not going WR with 9, then Witherspoon (CB), Johnson (OL), Jones (OL), or Bresee (DL) seem like the pick.

Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Bears now have 3 picks over an 11 pick sequence between 54-64. If they don't trade any (Poles may flip one for a future pick), they can really do some damage there.

How about #9, pick #61, DJ Moore, a 2024 1st AND a 2025 2nd for #1.

Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Moore is also reasonably priced for the next 3 years.

Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Ultimately you have to wait and see what pick they end up with for the final value, but I doubt Carolina magically breaks out of the top 10 of the draft in the next 2 years, so it is more than likely going to be a top 10 2024 1st rounder, and a no worse than a mid 40s 2nd rounder in 2025.

Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Yeah me too, but getting Moore plus an extra 1st or 2nd in the next 3 drafts is pretty solid (2nd, 1st, 2nd).

Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Moore, Mooney, Claypool, Velus, ESB. The WR Room just got a whole lot better, Moore produced on a bad team with revolving QBs.

Bears Trade #1 to Panthers
Wow, this is awesome. Moore is basically a first rounder, but "better?", #61 (2nd), 2024 1st, and 2025 2nd. Rich Hill chart 1000 = 387+86+369+146+Moore (369) = 1357. So even if you value Moore as a 2nd, it is still good for the Bears (1132). Johnson chart 3000 = 1350+292+1300+490+Moore (1300) = 4732. If you reduce Moore to a 2nd round value, it is 3922.

Good call on cap, 49ers only have a little over $6M, so they can do the same with McGlinchey. Are you talking about Jawaan Taylor? James who?

Interest for #1 pick heating up
The best comp I've seen is Trubisky and Daniel Jones, check that out. One is making $40M per year, the other is about to be on his 4th team in 4 years.

McGlinchey should be #2 behind Brown. He is my favorite based on his playing style.

Consensus Big Board Top 10 (25 FEB Edition)
The post combine consensus mock has the following players going in this order: Anderson, Young, Wilson, Stroud, Carter as the top 5. Then Gonzalez, Levis, Murphy, Richardson, and Witherspoon to finish the top 10. That leaves the next 5 as Paris Johnson, Quentin Johnston, Broderick Jones, Bryan Bresee, and Michael Mayer as 11-15. JSN is going 21 right now. So if the Bears go down to 4, they will get Anderson, Wilson, or Carter. If they go to 9, they will be looking at Witherspoon, Johnson, Johnston, Jones, Bresee, Mayer, or JSN as their options there.

Consensus Big Board Top 10 (25 FEB Edition)
OK, if the Bears do move back to somewhere around 9 (CAR). Who are you picking at 9? Anderson, Carter, Wilson, Witherspoon, and Murphy are off the board as positional players. Is that the spot for JSN or do you go Paris Johnson?
