These teams are fairly even going into this game. Mixon vs Monty. Red Rider Revenge Game. To me it comes down to execution. If the Bears players play up to expectations, the Bears win by 10. If they play how they did last week, they lose by at least 7. I am hoping for more Fields, just put the kid in already. I have really soured on Nagy and it feels like he is over his head and needs to give up playcalling. Bears 24-20.

Monty was also one of the top 5 fastest ball carries (Herbert was another) last week. That is impressive because Monty has really increased his top speed which was a weakness of his. On his rushing TD, he literally scored when the O-Line missed 4 blocks in front of him. They really need to lock him and Smith up as core guys going forward. As for Jackson, I will keep saying this. He has not been the same since his injury. I don't know if it is physical or mental, but whatever it is he is a different player. Christian was terrible in the slot. They need to fix the secondary or this is going to be a long season.

I figured it Dalton played most of the game, they would lose by double digits. The Rams are not as good as the score indicates, they just played a bad Bears team.

To me one of the most alarming things about the game was the Bears dominated the TOP, which meant the defense got a ton of rest and still got torched for 34 pts. Jackson is the most overrated player in football. I would trade him for anything at this point. He has never been the same since his injury. It is clear Nagy is over his head with play calling and quite possibly head coaching. Dalton did nothing that Fields can't do, so you might as well start him to get him experience. I have a feeling this is going to be a long, bad year.

It is different if you are letting your rookies walk and paying for others. That is not the case. We have a young drafted core of Fields, Monty, Cohen, Herbert, Kmet, Horsted, Mustipher, Whitehair, Daniels, Mooney, Goldman, Nichols, Smith, Johnson, and Jackson. If Gipson steps on the Edge, that covers across from Mack, then you have Vildor/Shelley in one of the DB spots. You then fill in the rest with rookies, some key free agents and some league minimum guys like James and Ogletree.

Very cool and great idea. Get them now before it sky rockets.

It really is just a first-rounder next year as they gave up a 4th for Fields but got back a 5th for Miller. So they have a 2nd, 3rd, 5th, 5th, and a 6th. All they need to do is move down once to gain another pick. I am sure Foles will be traded before the deadline, hopefully for at least a 6th. However, if they get rid of Quinn, Graham, Trevathan, and Hicks, they will have a ton of space, one of the highest in the league, to bring in some younger blue chip guys coming off rookie deals.

Swift, Peterson, Hockenson, Golladay, Jones, Amendola in not much different than Henderson, Michel, Higbee, Kupp, Woods, Jackson. The biggest difference from Detroit to LA is the defense, but even then, it is not the same group as it was the last few years, and they have a new coordinator. So the defense is a huge question mark outside of Donald and Ramsey.

In the last 3 seasons, Stafford played in 4 games against the Bears, went 1-3 and had 6 TDs and 6 INTs, and was sacked 11 times. He has 1x 300-yd passing game against the Bears since 2016. Outside of Donald and Ramsey, they don't have much else on defense. Our TEs really have an opportunity to dominate against their weak LB corps. Donald also plays in the inside, which is the strength of our O-Line. Peters/Ifedi have to go against Floyd + whoever. I think we are ok there. It will really come down to how our defense plays against the Rams offense. Akers is out, Brown is gone, so Henderson/Michel is their backfield. We also have a secret weapon, Ogletree, who should have first-hand insight into the Rams from his time there.

OK, disregard, I was given commish duties for the original league. Draft is set for tomorrow at 7PM CT. Keepers going in now.

The only saving grace is that we will have a ton of cap space next year and can shed some of the older guys, thus reducing the team age considerably. Next offseason would be the perfect time for a new GM and HC. Fields in his second year and cap space to build around him.
-
I got a response from Yahoo. They cannot add me, only the Commish can. So the only other option is to create a new league, import settings and history, invite everyone, then set the draft and keepers. I will give Ary until the end of the day today to set it, if not I will create the new league first thing in the morning so we can draft tomorrow at 7pm.

It is a mixed bag with Pace. This is why the team is always 8-8. At some point there needs to be an improvement, not just treading water. I really don't like the Jenkins signing now. If there were medical concerns, there is no way you pick him in the 2nd with Eichenberg, Cosmi, and Radunz still on the board for OL help. Now you are lucky to get 3 years out of him on the rookie deal. Asante Samuel Jr. would've been a super smart pick at #39 which would've filled the hole left by Fuller. Then all you would have to address was LT which you could potentially have done with Morgan Moses. If Peters works out, great, but Pace did not have a plan for Fuller, Leno, or Special Teams. The team still doesn't have a Punt Returner. So what was the plan?

I was assuming the Rams were the same team they were the last few years, with Pro Bowlers up and down their defense. However, after looking at their roster, they have really thinned out from what they had a few years ago. Their starting defense outside of Donald and Ramsey is: A'Shawn Robinson, Sebastian Joseph-Day, Justin Hollins, Kenny Young, Troy Reeder, Leonard Floyd, Darious Williams, Jordan Fuller, and Taylor Rapp. Outside of Floyd and Fuller, any other household names? They lost Troy Hill, CB, Michael Brockers, DL, Derek Rivers, Edge, Morgan Fox, DL, John Johnson, S, and Samson Ebukam, Edge, all were key contributors. That's just on defense. Outside of Donald and Ramsey, no other player requires much attention. For the Bears you have to account for Mack, Hicks, Smith, and Jackson. I actually like our defense better. On offense, they lost Austin Blythe, C, Malcolm Brown, RB, Gerald Everett, TE and Josh Reynolds, WR and Cam Akers, RB is out for the year. They added Sony Michel and DeSean Jackson in addition to the Stafford trade. If Dalton is better than Foles, this will be a close game. Turnovers will decide it. If the Bears can get out to an early lead and score some first quarter points, I like our chances. Bears 23-20.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if they put Ramsey exclusively on ARob and just take him out of the game. That would open things up for Mooney, Byrd, Perriman, and Goodwin as well as the TEs. I have a feeling the TEs will get a ton of catches as Kmet, Graham, James, and Horsted have some mismatch capabilities.

Sunday Night Football Real football is finally here. Last year, the Rams beat the Bears 24-10 in Week 7 in Chicago. The offense had 3 points in that game. Foles had 2 INTs and was sacked 4 times. If Dalton starts, it is hard to see how we passed the Rams in the offseason, as they gained Stafford, and lost Goff and Akers (who didn't play against the Bears). So to me, if Dalton plays the entire game, the Bears lose by double digits. If Fields plays at least a half, we have a shot. Either way, I have this one as a loss. Prove me wrong Bears.

Ary (The Bunny), aka DrunkBomber hasn't been on here in a while, he did post about his keepers on the 23rd and paid, but I don't know if he knows he is still the Commish. I was given co-commish duties last year, but apparently that does not carry over as I have no control over the league in Yahoo. I will email Yahoo to see if I can get co-commish duties thru them so I can set the draft and keepers.
-
I can see Fields coming in after halftime, especially if the offense is sputtering in the first half. However, if they are down 2+ scores by then, I can also see them sticking with Dalton because that would be a hard deficit to overcome in a half if the defense is not stopping them. The 3 and outs and turnovers will be telling. I don't know how many of those the team can withstand from Dalton.
-
I proposed the following: 7th at 7PM CT - or 7th at 930PM CT - I am not the commish, I just helped get everything up and running this year, so I don't have control of the league settings.

Hicks was on the last year of his rookie deal after being traded from NO to NE before the trade deadline that year. NE just didn't resign him, because they rarely do, especially someone who didn't play a full season for them. The Bears gave him a 2-yr deal and extended him after one season.
-
Oh I know, but going from 2x All-Pros to rookies would seem to be a bigger deal than going from Leno to Peters.
