The first video is hilarious. I was like wow, 7 minutes of video, then realize over 5 minutes of it was transitions. The 2nd one was much better. He seems like a decent prospect and definitely compliments Wims and Ridley pretty well.
-
I don't mind this as a spot replacement for Lynch. As long as he doesn't take an offsides penalty and can get after the QB on obvious passing downs, he should be helpful.
-
I know 7th rounders are just darts, but why not take a QB that was a projected 5th rounder? Pace has drafted one QB since taking over as GM.
-
and a complete no-name Lachaviois Simmons, OT from Tennessee State? With Anthony Gordon on the board?
-
Gordon, QB Durant, OT Woodward, LB Reed or Carter, S
-
Oh I know, once you hit the 5th, it's a major crapshoot anyway. I don't expect anything out of any of these guys, so if we get any contributions, I good with it.
-
Neither Vildor or Mooney were 5th round picks, let alone 6th round picks. There were still some guys on the board, so I am not quite understanding what the thought process was with those two guys, especially with Mooney and a trade up for him. I would have rather seen Antoine Brooks, James Proche or Anthony Gordon.
-
Traded up for a guy who was likely a UDFA or 7th rounder.....odd.
-
Just surprised we haven't added a young OL at this point. With only two 7th rounders left, I don't know if you are going to get much there. I would draft a kicker with one of them to bring in some competition. Hell, draft a punter too.
-
Trevis Gipson with a 4th round grade, curious to see what we gave up for him.
-
I think they are going to throw a bunch of guys in at Castillo and see who wins. Let Leno, Massie, Bars, Ifedi, and Spriggs battle it out for the 2 OT's and then rest become backups with one sliding to RG. Ifedi has a ton of experience, Spriggs was miscast and injured in GB, and Bars is still a wild card who would've been a much higher pick if not injured. I still think we pick one up at the end of the draft and another in free agency post draft to come in and compete.

There is still a lot of value on the board to start the 4th round. We have the 57th pick as our first pick of the day: OL - Prince Tega Wanogho, OT 3rd Tyler Biadasz, OG Ben Bartch, OT 3rd-4th John Simpson, OG 3rd Netane Muti, OG Ben Bredeson, OG 4th Nick Harris, OG 3rd Saahdiq Charles, OT 4th Shane Lemieux, OG Logan Stenberg, OG Hakeem Adeniji, OT 4th S - K'Von Wallace Geno Stone JR Reed Antoine Brooks - Big WR - KJ Hill 3rd Antonio Gandy-Golden - Big, 3rd-4th Donovan Peoples-Jones Tyler Johnson Gabriel Davis 3rd-4th Collin Johnson - Big, 3rd-4th James Proche 4th Isaiah Coulter - 4.45, 4th QB - Jacob Eason - 3rd Jake Fromm - 3rd Anthony Gordon - 5th RB - Joshua Kelley - 3rd Anthony McFarland Edge - Curtis Weaver - 2nd-3rd Bradlee Anae - 3rd Khalid Kareem - 3rd-4th Trevis Gipson - 4th

Johnson also is only 21. It's funny to see the Raiders use pick 19 on Arnette and then for us to get Johnson at 50.
-
Which leads me to believe he was actually BPA. Either way, I am just glad the team didn't trade up for him. There have been comparisons to Greg Olsen, so I will take that. One minor note, he is only 21, which is a plus.

So thru 3 rounds, this is what we are looking at: DET - Decent draft but missed opportunity to take Tua and/or trade Stafford, or trade down 1. Okudah, CB - basically replaces Slay, good for salary cap, but team really doesn't improve much. Highest DB ever selected, passed on Tua 2. Swift, RB - they already have KJ, so at most RBBC, they must be concerned about KJ's health. Good value pick 3. Okwara, Edge - Decent pick in the 3rd Round, brother is already on the team, reminds me a lot of Floyd, seems more comfortable as just a speed rusher. 4. Jackson, G - Interesting pick, Jackson had a 4th to 5th round grade from most sites, so Pick 75, 11th pick of the 3rd was seen as a reach with so much talent still on the board. GB - Right now, a laughable draft from guys wearing clown shoes 1. Love, QB - traded up for a QB? This will be debated for years. If Love replaces Rodgers and becomes a franchise QB, the team looks brilliant, if he doesn't and the team struggles in the next few years, this will be one of the reasons why. 2. Dillon, RB - a RB at 62 when you already have Aaron Jones? Another head-scratcher here. Are they trying to keep Jones fresh? 3. Deguara, TE - a very productive college TE who comes in immediately as the best TE on their roster. However, he was not projected as a 3rd Round pick, so this is a huge reach here with so much talent on the board. He would have probably been available in the 5th. MIN - The gerbil wheel draft, almost every pick replaces a star player they lost 1. Jefferson, WR - replaces Diggs but is more like Thielen, so it will be interesting to see how the team looks 2. Gladney, CB - replaces Waynes, great player, but just like Jefferson, not really getting better as a team 3. Cleveland, OT - this is a good spot to get Cleveland 4. Dantzler, CB, replaces Alexander/Rhodes, team not really improving much Detroit is probably the most improved, but only slightly with Okwara. GB is laughably worse than last year and this draft does nothing to improve them. Minnesota picked up some good players, but only to replace holes they created. If you compare to the Bears picks, we actually got better: 1. Kmet paired with Graham is light years ahead of Burton and Shaheen. Our worst unit is clearly upgraded. 2. Johnson might end up as the best CB in the draft. Replaces Prince, which is an upgrade. Our CBs are now Fuller/Johnson/Skrine backed up by Toliver/Burns/Roberson/Shelley. That unit might be a strength.
-
Jefferson is still out there as a cheap vet option at SS and if Ifedi/Spriggs/Bars is the worst we will get at RG, we will be ok. Another option at WR is Marqise Lee who was released by JAX if we don't find one in the draft.
-
Great pick, as much as I didn't want a TE in the 2nd, based on recent SB teams, an elite TE is critical. With Graham, Kmet, Harris, and Holtz, we have a formidable TE group can run a ton of 12 personnel. Monty should be excited too.
-
Yeah, I was going with BPA as much as possible where it fit. Hurts was too good to pass up at 50. I think Chinn at 68 would be great, especially if we also added Hunt and Niang.
-
hahaha, classic, at least he would be cheaper
-
NE now has pick 37, 71, 87, 98, and 100, and 13 picks overall. That is an insane amount to sign and have on your 53 man and PS. I think they will be active moving up in the draft. 43 for 71, 98, and 100 would work. Then the Bears would have 50, 71, 98, and 100. I would then flip 98 or 100 and pickup a 4th or 5th. We can't go 2 picks in the first 162. 4 in the top 100 would be sweet.

The PFF Simulator now starts at the 2nd round. Pretty cool. I ran it and tried to pick BPA, a lot of great options. What I don't understand is why PFF would give a different grade at the same pick for the same player just based on who is available. Like somehow Winfield was a better pick the 2nd time:
-
Olin Kruetz was talking about the team needing some "dawgs". From what I read, Robert Hunt is that type of player on the O-Line. With the way the board is playing out, we could grab someone like Niang, Hunt, Cushenberry, or Jones for the O-Line and a true SS. We could also still go WR as well. A lot of options for us at both picks.
-
I can see Pace trading up if he is enamored with one of the Safeties. I hope he doesn't unless the pick is trivial.
