    Mock Draft Live

So it was definitely possible to get better trades, Lester was probably trying to just go quick. Here is one with trade downs from 43-51, and 50-61. So I used 43, 50 to get 56, 61, 93, and 141. I got 2x 2nds, a 3rd, and a 4th for the 2x 2nds. 56. Terrell Lewis OLB Alabama 61. Jeremy Chinn S Southern Illinois 93. Adam Trautman TE Dayton 141. K.J. Hill WR Ohio State 163. Antonio Gibson RB Memphis 196. Nevelle Clark CB UCF 200. Nick Harris C Washington 226. Rodney Clemons S SMU 233. Steven Montez QB Colorado

With trades: 54. Noah Igbinoghene CB Auburn 56. Lloyd Cushenberry C LSU 128. Anthony McFarland RB Maryland 141. Jake Fromm QB Georgia 163. Josiah Deguara TE Cincinnati 196. Nevelle Clark CB UCF 200. Broderick Washington Jr. DT Texas Tech 226. Jon Runyan Jr. G Michigan 233. Rodrigo Blankenship K Georgia It seems that Lester didn't really try too hard on the trades. I tried two (just to get a 4th in return) and instead of 43 and 50, I got 54, 56, 128, and 141. Still not the best value, but better than 6th's. I am going to see if I can get a 3rd in some of the trades.

I really liked the concept of using the simulator, I just don't like the results, lol.

Lloyd Cushenberry went at #46, I would rather have him at #43 than Wilson at 48 and a 6th. Wilson is still a project and you need a starter in the 2nd round. Jaylon Johnson went at #50, I would have taken him at #50 instead of Shenault at #57 and a 6th. Johnson is BPA and fills a need at CB.

Damn, going from 43 to 48 and only getting a 5th and then from 50 to 57 for a late 5th and 7th (which is basically worthless)? I like the idea of trading back, but not if we can only get a 5th in return. It will be interesting to see who got picked from 43-47 and from 50-56. Does anyone have a link to the draft results?
  8. I can't believe we got him on that contract, that's impressive. I know he had a lot of penalties (mainly false starts), but some of that can be corrected. If he slides in at RG, a lot of those penalties go away.
  9. I can't see Nagy getting fired, his track record is much better than Pace's. It's not his fault that he had to deal with Pace's first round failures. Pace has been saved by ARob, Hicks, Mack, and EJack. That's the elite core of the team right now holding it together. If the team loses anyone of those guys (like they did with Hicks), the season is over.

Also, the team is still non-committal on Mitch's 5th year option, which has to be decided on by May. If they wanted Mitch to succeed, they would've picked up the option already. The fact that they haven't means they are contemplating the risk vs reward in terms of comp picks. They picked up Floyd's option and got burnt (lost comp pick) and they may feel like the comp pick potential is greater than Mitch's ability to turn it around, which is a damning statement about how they truly feel about him. My opinion is this. Nagy took the job in hopes of making it work with Trubisky. After two seasons, he has realized that it's not going to work. He then tells Pace that he needs a new QB, and Pace brings in Foles. Pace is going to go down with the burning ship instead of just admitting his mistakes. It's ok to be wrong in this business, but when you continually make the same errors and then attempt to ride them out just to be right will end up getting you fired.
  11. To me, he has to be in the perfect system to excel. He is a one-read QB, which is fine, but limited. He is an athlete that plays QB. He has never really been an elite QB. He couldn't win the starting job at NC, and he used his athleticism to make plays there. He has the physical ability to make some elite plays, but just doesn't have the processing speed to make those split second decisions that are needed. He makes up for that with his arm strength, but that is too inconsistent to bet on.

Yeah, the deal is $8M with incentives up to $14M, but still nothing compared to the original numbers. This makes the deal for a 4th much easier to understand. The Bears traded cap space for the draft pick. Clearly in a win now mode for 2020 and 2021.
  13. Yeah, that makes sense, and I would be happy with that too.
  14. What do you think? I would be ok with this draft. 43. BEARS (LAV)—S Kyle Dugger, Lenoir-Rhyne 50. BEARS—TE Cole Kmet, Notre Dame 163. BEARS—IOL Darryl Williams, Miss. State 196. BEARS—OT Jon Runyan, Michigan 200. BEARS (PHI)—RB DeeJay Dallas, Miami 226. BEARS (LAV)—CB Harrison Hand, Temple 233. BEARS—CB Grayland Arnold, Baylor https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2884272-2020-nfl-mock-draft-matt-millers-post-free-agency-predictions#slide38
  15. Tony Jefferson is still out there. Based on the uncertainty going on, I assume some players will want to sign contracts (to get signing bonus = immediately paid) sooner, rather than later.
  16. It will definitely be interesting if they don't postpone it altogether. It will be interesting to see what teams do in states that have stay at home orders. They are definitely non-essential personnel, so no draft rooms packed with people. After the extension of the social distancing thru 30 APR, I think the league will have to postpone it until at least May. What do you think? How can teams meet at work if they are deemed non-essential?
  17. https://www.chicagobears.com/news/bears-trade-down-twice-draft-whitehair-17087423 The Bears chose Whitehair after trading down twice in the second round, dropping a total of 15 spots to acquire three fourth-round picks, two this year and one in the future. First, they sent the No. 41 pick to the Bills in exchange for the No. 49 selection plus fourth-round choices this year (No. 117) and next year. The Bears then traded the No. 49 pick to the Seahawks for the No. 56 choice and a fourth-round selection (No. 124).
  18. That too, Pace knows what Graham can do with the right QB and system.
  19. Here is how I see the differences from what I have read: 1. Graham - older, more accomplished, trending downward, but more consistent, signing doesn't impact comp picks, contract is essentially a one-year deal for $6M w/ an out and $3M dead money next year. Last year's numbers: 38-447, 3 TDs, and only 2 drops. Only 5 drops in last 2 seasons. 2. Ebron - younger, less accomplished, very inconsistent, drops a ton of passes, signing would impact comp picks (I believe was important consideration), contract is essentially a one-year deal for $3.5M w/ an out and $2.5M dead money next year. Last year's numbers: 31-375. 3 TDs, 5 drops. 14 drops in last 2 seasons. Also, Ebron coming off ankle surgery, has not played since. So he was a comp pick question mark, and injury question mark, a consistency question mark with a history of drops, but younger. So I could see why Graham was enticing, though older, they needed to get a constant at that position. He is much more reliable and can stabilize the TE position for a year or two. Ebron had too many question marks and though slightly cheaper, probably didn't provide the same level of confidence that Graham did.
  20. I mean he signed with the Bears after playing with the Packers. So I am sure he has something to prove. I think he still has some years left in the tank. At this point almost anything is better than what we had last year. If we can get 50-600 with 5 TDs, that would be huge for this offense as we had literally nothing from that position last year. Also, one other thing to note. Graham is one of the best seam TE's in the league, something we have not had since Olsen. That should open up some things for the WRs and RBs because a Safety will have to defend over the top against that. I can see Miller, Monty, and Cohen really benefitting from that threat.
  21. Ware makes a lot of sense, especially if this virus stuff drags on into the summer.

    Pace's last year

I believe the following players could be traded in the offseason: 1. Trubisky 2. Burton 3. Leno 4. Massie 5. Cohen 6. Shaheen 7. Braunecker Crazy to think they all are on the offensive side of the ball. We really need to draft there more often.
  23. Yeah, good catch, Bray back in the fray. QB (3): +Foles, Trubisky, Bray (-Daniel) RB (3): Montgomery, Cohen, +Nall (-Davis, Whyte) WR (5): Robinson, Miller, Patterson, Ridley, Wims (-Gabriel) TE (9): Burton, Shaheen, Braunecker, +Holtz, +Horsted, +Raymond, +Harris, +Graham, +Saubert (-Sowell) OL (10): Leno, Whitehair, Daniels, Massie, Coward, +Bars, +Levin, +Boyd, +Mustipher, +Ifedi (-Long, Larsen, Lucas) DL (6): Hicks, Goldman, Nichols, Robertson-Harris, Anderson, +Urban (-Williams) OLB (5): Mack, +Quinn, Irving, +Mingo, +Vaughters (-Floyd, Lynch) ILB (5): Trevathan, Smith, Iyiegbuniwe, Woods, +Bond (-Kwiatkoski, Pierre-Louis) CB (8): Fuller, Skrine, Toliver, Shelley, +Roberson, +Burns, +Brice, +Denmark (-Amukamara) S (4): Jackson, Bush, Houston-Carson, +Lucas (-Clinton-Dix, McManis) ST (3): Pineiro, O'Donnell, Scales
  24. Seattle replaced him with Shell, who was only slightly better than Ifedi (per PFF), and Shell got $5.5M AV for 2 years. So it will be interesting to see what Ifedi got. If he get anything less than $5M, then it's a pretty good deal for a guy with a lot of experience. Maybe he would play better at RG than RT. https://12thmanrising.com/2020/03/18/seahawks-reshape-offensive-line/
  25. Another former first rounder, has been up and down but should come in and compete for RG position.
