    Senior Bowl

Some standouts that should be available after the 1st round: 1. TE - Jared Pinkney - Vanderbilt 2. QB - Anthony Gordon, Washington State; Jordan Love, Utah State 3. EDGE - Alton Robinson, Syracuse; Bradlee Anae, Utah; Terrell Lewis, Alabama 4. WR - K.J. Hill, Ohio State; James Proche, SMU; Van Jefferson, Florida 5. OL - Damien Lewis, LSU; Matt Hennessy, Temple Adam Trautman (TE, Dayton) was listed as a top performer, but after seeing some of his full tape, he would only be a better blocking version of Shaheen and maybe a little more athletic, but not much. Otherwise, there are a lot of mid-round guys that have the potential to contribute right away. I hope Pace trades down on at least one of the 2nd rounders to pick up another mid-round pick. I would rather have a couple extra darts and hit on as many positional groups as possible.
  3. Shaheen is a goner. Burton may hang around with his contract. It makes more sense to bring in a rookie to develop than to go for more older players unless the Bears feel like their current window is closing, then they would go all in for 2020. Then Ebron would make more sense.
  4. At 6'2", 221, he is more Montgomery than he is Cohen. I am not opposed to adding another RB, Whyte seemed like the perfect candidate, he would be a special teamer and someone with speed on offense. Cohen regressed a lot this year. Hopefully he corrects whatever the hell is going on with him in the upcoming season. He had two stellar years followed by a stinker. If he gets back to the old Cohen, I think we will be ok.

Yeah, I would rather go with KPL than Floyd. KPL seems to be better all-around than Floyd, and he will be cheaper. You can then pair Smith with Kwit for the inside.

Oh man, I had just seen a few highlight tapes of him. Check out the play at the goal line at 5:10. It's that option toss to the TE as they are crossing the LOS. He literally has to gain one yard against a tiny DB and he gets taken down. If he kept his head up, there was a huge hole to his left. Terrible. He does seem to be a better blocker than Shaheen and a little more athletic in general, but not someone you use a 2nd round pick on. God no Pace, don't do it!

Yeah I agree. I heard on a Podcast that 1/3 of all the Bears draft picks played in the Senior Bowl. So if that holds true, we will be selected 2-3 of these guys this year.

I am hearing reports that Bears scouts are really hard and heavy on the Offensive Linemen. They are also looking at TE, Adam Trautman, from Dayton. Just looking at his tape, he is nothing like Shaheen, way more athletic and a better blocker. He is who we wanted Shaheen to be. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000001098624/article/2020-senior-bowl-day-2-justin-herbert-sizzles-bears-eye-te The Bears also met with Purdue tight end Brycen Hopkins and Vanderbilt’s Jared Pinkney earlier this week.

Yeah, sorry, had to. I just copied a previous quote from another thread so the time stamp was different.

Gabriel is gone. We definitely need more speed, but if the QB can't hit him in stride, no one will honor the threat.

This is an informal list and we all know Pace likes to work under the radar like Spy vs Spy.

I don't know about easily, for how bad our offensive line is, Scherff and Whitehair could at least be a strength of it, especially with all the stunts that gave the line fits this year. I don't know how well a rookie will do next to Massie or Leno. They are both terrible. Also, a post-June 1 cut would lessen the blow for someone like Leno.
  17. Foles connection both in Philly and Jacksonville. Crazy to think he was getting some consideration as a HC and we now have him on staff as a QB Coach. Not bad.
  18. I would be more shocked to see Luck unretire than retire. Player career lengths are shrinking considerably, and it wouldn't surprise me if you see most players retiring in their early 30's in the next decade. They get their rookie deal, then two contracts and they are done. With how much more money they are making now compared to even the early 2000s, it makes sense.
  19. Those are DVOA rankings, which are basically efficiency ratings which would consider YPC.

I am thinking Brandon Scherff or Austin Hooper. Those were the weakest two units on the entire team, so we clearly need impact guys there.
  21. Of the top ranked defenses, only SF (2nd) is left. KC is ranked 14th, GB 15th, and TEN 16th for DEF DVOA. For passing offense, KC is 2nd, TEN is 6th, SF is 8th, and GB is 11th. For rushing offense, GB is 4th, TEN is 5th, SF is 13th, and KC is 14th. So passing offense is still the strongest trend, with 4 of the top 11 still left. Top defense only has 1 in the top 11, and rushing offense only has 2 of the top 11. Just based on efficiency it would be SF vs KC in Super Bowl with SF winning.
  22. In theory yes, but that RB would need 20 carries a drive to score a TD. Since you are looking at maybe 30 total touches a game, that is a flawed argument. Complimentary football is the way to go. The pass sets up the run and run sets up the pass. The problem with the Bears is we couldn't do either efficiently and were very predictable.
  23. Interesting pickup. He also worked in MIA as the OC in 2014 and 2015. His QB's? Tannehill and Moore. Interesting. In 2014 and 2015, Tannehill threw for over 4000 yards both seasons and had over a 2/1 TD/INT ratio. or like Stinger pointed out, both Dalton and McCarron played for Lazor.
  24. Before the TD drive (after long KR return), Mahomes started 4-10, 43 yards while watching his team fall behind 24-0. The entire time it was the receivers fault, etc, etc. Never on Mahomes. If Trubisky played like that to start the game, and the Bears were down by 24, OMG. Regardless of the outcome, the media has really made things much worse for us Bears fans. We don't need to be reminded daily about something we couldn't control. BTW Mongo, I know Alvin Kamara was selected in one of those picks and I believe the LB from SF was too, Fred Warner. So Watson or Mahomes, Kamara and Warner vs Trubisky.
  25. So if you could keep Trevathan or Floyd for the same money, who would you keep?
