  1. From listening to some of the post-game recaps, the Bears stole one in Denver. Vic had his defense ready and his knowledge of the team, players, and tendencies made this an incredibly challenging matchup. Add that to the elevation, which really became a factor in the 4th, and this was an incredibly challenging game to win. Interesting to see other QBs struggle mightily this week. Watson? 16-29, 159 yds, 0 TD, 4 sacks. That's throwing to Hopkins. Very surprising. How about Cousins? 14-32, 43.8%, 230 yds, 1 TD, 2 INT, 1 sack, and a fumble lost for a 52.9 QB Rating. Less than 50% with Thielen and Diggs? Ouch. Mariota? 154 yards. Brissett, 146 yards. As of the 3rd quarter, Wentz is 7-18, 28.9%, 55 yds, 0 TD, 2 INT for a 7.6 QB Rating.......
  2. When is the last time a Bears kicker made 2 kicks from 50+ in a game, and with one being the GW to boot? People almost forget he made a 52-yarder in the 2nd quarter. He is now 4-4 on FG's on the season and 1-1 for XPs in 2 games.
  3. 29 runs, 27 passes. Finally, balance. Montgomery with 18 carries, Davis with 3 (only gained 1 yard). Still a work in progress, but a win is a win:
  4. Longest FG for Bears since 2000. Bears seemed to get screwed on the extra point/2-conversion. If the Broncos took a 5 yard penalty, then the Bears took a half the distance penalty on the offsides, then the ball should've been at the 3.5 yard line (2 yard line > 7 yard line > 3.5 yard line), not the 1 yard line. I don't know why the Broncos penalty yards would be negated just because you switch from kick to 2-pt conversion. It seems like the officials got it wrong there. Great throw by Trubisky on that throw. Then to make that kick? Crazy. ClubDub is booming right now! Still need some work on offense, especially the O-Line and passing game, but it was progress from Week 1. A win in Denver this early in the season is a huge accomplishment. Now we get an extra day of rest before Washington on Monday Night.
  5. Defense was gassed (after the offense's 3 and out) and Flacco was making easy work of the the defense. That's what we needed! First turnover of the year for the defense.
  6. I am starting to think O-Line play is the biggest problem right now over everything else.
  7. The last thing we needed was a 3 and out there... Defense back on the field up 7.
  8. Two of the worst calls I have seen in a long time. Floyd gets a penalty for tackling a player and Goldman gets a roughing the passer call for trying to sack Flacco. Bears defense finally gets pissed off and holds the Broncos to a FG. Refs just gifted DEN 3 pts there, complete BS. I don't like the Prevent defense and playing so soft. Now our offense needs a long scoring drive to end this with a win.
  9. Huge drive by the Bears. Patterson with an epic run, then Gabriel with another. Then pound it in with Montgomery! A Bears TD! It's Christmas in September!
  10. and he should have at least 6. He seems to hold on every play, and it's blatant. After every call, he looks dumbfounded.
  11. Broncos getting pressure with 3 vs our 5 O-Linemen. Still issues. This needs to be addressed.
  12. That Gabriel play was close, it looked like he still would've been blown up if he caught it. Gabriel seems to always leave his feet instead of just running into it.
  13. Pineiro from 52, and it's good! Bears up 6-3. I like the game plan, but let's stop giving the ball to Davis on 3rd and short (which seems to always result in a 4th down). Either Montgomery or Cohen there, or something quick and easy for Trubisky.
  14. Mack with a huge sack and some nice pressure on 3rd down to force a punt.
  15. Pineiro hit a 40-yarder, so that's a plus. Now 5 quarters without a TD....
  16. Offensive line still looks like crap, no running lanes, RBs hit behind the LOS.
  17. Shaheen with huge 3rd down catch. Actually makes the catch, a move, then powers past the line to gain. Nice to see him actually make a play. Also to note, Shaheen was not the first option, Trubisky went thru his progressions and hit him near the sidelines.
  18. Montgomery with a couple of nice runs, shocker. Davis with a run, still some bad blocking, loss of 2.
  19. Floyd makes a great play and blows up a screen and gets called for a ridiculous personal foul call. One of the worst calls I have seen in a long time. Jackson with great tackle to force a punt.
  20. 3 and out...... Montgomery no where to run on 1st, Cohen same on 2nd, Trubisky avoids pressure and makes a nice deep throw to Cohen, but the pass is broken up. The theme, O-Line still looks like garbage. Two runs where RB's hit in the backfield and Trubisky couldn't even get to his drop back before having to scramble on 3rd. So much for a great start with scripted plays. Ugh.
