Back to original topic: 1. Fix O-Line: Keep going with O-Line adjustments, we will need to see what we can do with Leno and/or Massie. Once these guys got paid, they got lazy. I like the Whitehair move back to Center and I think the line will get better as the season goes on with this combination. 2. Fix the TE position: This is absolutely broken. We need some playmakers. When JP Holtz is your best TE, you have a problem. We can't go into next season with Burton and Shaheen as our TEs. Shaheen will be cut as he was a healthy scratch today. So you have to figure out what to do with Burton and his ridiculous contract. I would not be opposed to cutting him and eating whatever salary cap you have to. 3. Do not bring Floyd back, and I would consider only bringing him in on obvious passing downs (3rd and longs) for the rest of the year. He gets manhandled by pretty much any offensive player blocking him. Every now and then his name is called when a QB holds the ball too long, but that's it. 4. Replace Special Teams Coach: there is no way we should have punts blocked as many times as we have. This has to be fixed. 5. Unless the Bears win 10 games and Trubisky is the reason they win some games, you have to bring in competition for him this offseason and draft one in 2020. The only way I would go with Trubisky is if he actually shows some progression in his development by the end of the year. I want him to carry this team when we need him to. Consistency would also be huge to see. 6. Play calling: If this anemic offense is due to play calling, you have to bring someone else up or in to takeover play calling. It's hard to assess this objectively with how bad some of the offense components have performed. 7. If you are looking to shake up the organization, you have to start with Pace. It's his roster construction and contracts. Obviously a new GM might want his own HC, so this would more than likely start a domino effect. However, I don't know how you move on from Nagy before moving on from Pace.

Kwiatkoski comes in off the bench and leads the team in tackles (9), has the only turnover (1 INT), a sack, and a PD. Jackson? 2 tackles and 1 PD. Mack? 2 tackles. Floyd? 2 tackles. Nichols and Goldman, each with 1 tackle each. RRH? Zero stats. So Kwit had more total stats than Jackson, Mack, Floyd, Nichols, Goldman, and RRH COMBINED!!!! That is ridiculous. Now a few others played pretty good, Prince, Nick Williams, Skrine, HHCD, and even Smith. but we need our stars to step the "f" up. I assume Trevathan is gone for the year after that grotesque injury to his arm (What's up with all the elbow injuries on this team?), so it will be interesting to see how Kwit does as the starter for a longer period of time. He may be the guy we are looking to bring back at ILB next year, so let's see what he can do. So far, I don't know if you can play much better when asked to.

Wow, I thought Trubisky was bad. Goff looks even worse thru 3 quarters. 15-28, 53.6%, 1 INT, 3 sacks, 1 fumble lost. Also, Goff never looks to run, he has one run longer than 5 yards, so the Bears won't need to have a spy on him. TJ Watt has 1.5 sacks, so if Mack can't get going against them, I fear he never will. The Rams defense is taking away the running game and making Rudolph beat them threw the air. I can see next week going to be an ugly game with either team scoring 20.

NYC, I see this more on Pace than anyone. Just look at the roster. Nagy was given a QB that he didn't want and who is severely limited in what he can do. The team is basically completely devoid of talent at the TE position and the Offensive Line is one of the worst in the league. There are 3 players that would be of interest to other teams on offense at this time: ARob, Montgomery and Whitehair, that's it. That's how you know its bad. Now Nagy is not without faults, he is a new HC, and he has a long way to go as a play-caller, but at some point, players have to make plays. The Bears receivers lead the league in drops and the offensive line is one of the most penalized in the league. I don't care how good you are, those are tough to overcome. Then you have Trubisky who is nowhere near where he should be as the #2 pick in his 3rd year. He rarely overcomes someone else's mistake. That's huge as a QB. Make a damn play when things are not going good. This has rarely happened. So just think if you are Nagy, you have Trubisky as your QB, that Offensive Line, a black hole at TE, and you are expected to salvage something from that. It's like making a cake with pudding. Everything has to work for a play to work. You can see that when it happens on scoring drives. However, it's all or nothing right now. When it's nothing, someone is almost always making a mistake. I will hold judgment on Nagy until after this season, but if someone had to go for me today, it would be Pace 1st, then Trubisky.

There were at least signs today that Trubisky is feeling at least a little more comfortable in the pocket and seeing the field. Now his big thing is stepping up in the pocket and not taking a sack outside of the pocket, just throw the damn ball into the stands. It almost seems like he doesn't want to hurt his passing stats so he just tucks the ball and takes the sack when there is enough time to just loft it to the sidelines. Does he not understand that once he is out of the tackle box that he can throw it away?

It's crazy to think the last game the Bears won, Kwit started, and here he is again making plays. So the Bears have 3 TDs, one on a short field thanks to Kwit's INT. Trubisky has made some nice throws but just missed ARob on what would've probably been a 70+ TD pass. He overthrew him. I guess I can't complain because Trubisky has not really thrown a bad ball where it could've been intercepted.

One thing to consider. The Bears did not know they would get Montgomery when they signed Davis. Like the Glennon deal, I think the Bears signed Davis as an insurance policy. Then when Montgomery was still available, they made their move and got him. This sort of made Davis a waste, but if one of the RBs they wanted wasn't there, then Davis goes into the season as the lead back. Then the offense plays about as bad as it can play and you have a guy that is barely used. It's not like replacing Davis is going to make the team much better at this point. The Daniels Whitehair swap should help. Daniels has struggled mightily and this move should've occurred during the bye.

As much as the QB's looked good, how about those starting RBs? Those guys carried the teams in the 2nd half and literally won the game for them. Burrow has to be the #1 pick, he reminds me of Watson but as a better passer. Both so cool in the biggest moments (unlike ours).

Wisconsin and Michigan State, impressive for a team that has been bad for so long. It's good to see because outside of Northwestern, the state hasn't seen many good teams in a long time. This should help recruiting. Good for Lovie too. I thought he got a raw deal on the way out of here.

Lions 3-4-1, Bears 3-5, this game will more than likely decide who finishes last in the division. An important factor is next year's schedule. The last place team will get ARZ and WAS, while the 3rd place team will get LAR and NYG, actually a pretty big difference. Stafford is supposedly a game-time decision. Johnson is out, however, Golladay and Jones have been on fire. Even Amendola, who would be our #2 WR, is having a solid year. Marvin Hall is now on the Lions, and has 5 catches averaging 40 yards each. This game is going to come down to our secondary and our pass rush. I think the change with Daniels/Whitehair and the addition of Nall makes just enough difference to get our offense out of the cellar. With so few winnable games remaining, I think we beat the dome team today in the cold with Montgomery carrying the load. Bears 20-13
