Per everyone. Glennon saves $11.5 and Young saves $4.5, so another $16mil. Kyle Long now the oldest player on the team at 29. Now with the 3rd most cap space heading into free agency and 6th youngest team in the league. Wheaton and Cooper should be next, another $9.5 in savings and would make us the 4th youngest team in the league.

Don't forget Wheaton $5 and Cooper $4.5 should bump it to $80M.

I have never been a fan of this. We lose Alshon, and because we signed Glennon, Wheaton, Cooper, etc, we get no compensation but our team was actually worse without him. They base it on the net difference between salary of FA's gained and lost. So if you sign 5 filler guys at $5 mil each, that is equal to 2x top tier starters at $12.5 each. To me I would like to see these changes: 1. Teams only get comp picks for players they drafted or acquired as a UDFA 2. Teams should be limited to 3 comp picks (currently 4) 3. Comp rounds should be 4th-7th (not 3rd)

After reading some more about him, I am ok with this. Also, Robinson is coming off injury, so who knows how he will be. However, Lee should be available from the Jags.

That would be an insane draft. I would say that Kirk is unlikely to last past the first few picks in the 2nd round and I would not be surprised if he goes in the first.

Great hire, after reading about him, he has the experience and credentials. Degree in kinesiology and was also the Director of Sports Nutrition in addition to all the S&C stuff. So one would think he takes a holistic approach to S&C. Also, based on the amount of disappointment from Wash St., I think we got a keeper.

I will pass on Maclin, I have never been a fan, he always seemed overrated to me and to my surprise is already turning 30 this year.

For me, it is hard to see him being better than a 4th round pick. He was injured and just left the team without notice. He has been out of the league a year with post concussion syndrome. He seems like one helmet to helmet hit from IR. You see him as an ILB at 210 lbs? I thought he mostly played Safety? I don't know about giving up a 4th, but I would consider a 5th or 6th.

Alex Smith played one drive in Week 1 of preseason, 2 drives in Week 2, and the first half in Week 3, and DNP in Week 4. Seems like that would be the "normal" amount of reps for a veteran QB and nothing out of the ordinary.

I think it is way to early to "grade" the coaching changes, but I get a kick out of people loving the Gruden move. The dude hasn't coached in years and inherited two pretty good teams between OAK and TB when he did coach. I like the story for him going back to OAK, but besides that, I think he will be average in Oakland. True, I applaud his effort, but man, most of those moves do not make any sense.

It was nice of someone to post a bunch of stuff on a website, but some of these moves are ridiculous. Dion Sims to JAX? So Jacksonville is going to be impressed with Sims at that price and trade something for him? No way. If he is not on the team, it is because he was cut. I don't understand the Bullard move like you said, and I doubt Sitton gets traded. If anything he is cut too. Like you said, how is Cooper not cut, but Freeman is? Glennon, Demps, and Wheaton are obvious cuts, so nothing shocking there. Amukamara is dependent on if the Bears bring in someone else like Amerson or Desir. If we have Sanchez on the roster, we might roll with only 2 QBs. So I don't know about Daniel. Why would we sign Reid when we have Amos and Jackson? Where would he play? Then after all that wildness, he trades down to draft a WR and C in the 1st, then another WR in the 4th? This guy is all over the place.

Here is my take, I would go with Wilson or Wright in the Slot, and would lean towards Wilson with his experience in Nagy's system, and I would have no issues with bringing Wright back for the same job. On the outside, I would target Lee or Grant, and maybe even someone like Decker (for 3rd downs and vet presence). I don't know if we can count on Meredith or White, and it would be a huge risk to pick up someone like Robinson (injury) with those other two on the roster. What leverage did they have when he could just not sign the deal and become a free agent or get tagged? There was no rush for him to sign a deal and the only way it would've backfired on him is if he struggled in his starts and they lowballed him based on the small sample size.

Sure, and it's possible all the teams can win, which would be cool too. CHI vs SF in the NFCC, and HOU and KC in the AFCC.

It seems like we are linked with CLE, SF, and to an extent HOU and KC. CLE and SF passed on Trubisky and HOU and KC didn't trade up to get him but traded up for other QBs. So it will be interesting to see who's plan worked out the best (I think we can remove CLE from that discussion).

It's great for SF to get their franchise QB (which is still debatable), but besides maybe Brees, I don't know of many teams that won the Super Bowl with a young team and a new franchise QB making more than 20% of the cap. The sweet spot is to win before the rookie contract ends, or with an established team once the inflated QB contract levels off. SF will not really be in either of those categories for several years.

Yeah, total bush league on McDaniels part. Should never have "agreed in principle" to a deal and then backed out. Colts and Ballard look really bad. This is the guy you interviewed and thought he was the best guy for the job? Then you announce his hiring prior to a signed contract? That looks pretty horrible. Pace looks like a beast. He went out and got his QB before anyone else and did the same for his HC. You have to give him credit for going all in. Nagy looks like the real deal and his staff is stacked. Now Pace needs to hit on some free agents and the draft again.

I know Amerson was discussed on this board back when he was drafted as a potential target.

I'm not sold on Mahomes after one game in Week 17, but I like him more than Kizer. I think all 3 first rounders will all end up being starters which makes the Browns look even worse for passing on Wentz last year as well.
