  1. Please name Watson's WR's and TE's, show me all the "playmakers" outside of Hopkins. Watson has 1 WR and 0 TE's. The Bears have 6 players (3x WRs, 2 RBs, and a TE) with over 10 receptions. The Texans have 2, Hopkins and Miller, 1 WR and 1 RB. Trubisky is not going to save this team on his own, and it will take time, but it is also an instant upgrade of the most important position in sports. To me it is a massive upgrade. He is going to make the O-Line's job easier, and based on his accuracy, there will be less drops from receivers. He will make the entire offense better. That should equate to a better defense, and a better team. How much better is the question. To me it seems like Watson is more susceptible to a huge letdown. Take away Hopkins, then what?
  2. We should've beat ATL, even with Glennon, the team outplayed them. If Trubisky is in at QB with 1st and goal, we score. GB had 21 pts off Glennon turnovers. Gave defense no chance, with Trubisky, that is less likely. The game was over after 2 drives. Without the gift pts, the game is 14-14. In TB, the same thing, they had 20 pts off turnovers, and the game was over before halftime. Now Cohen had one of the fumbles, but Glennon still had 3 turnovers with a Pick-6. Not that you can take those plays away, but TB is up 9-7 without those free points. All things considered, we should be 2-2 with Glennon right now. That means the other 21 guys have been carrying him as a liability. The defense has been in constant recovery mode, playing on short rest and short fields. Even in the PIT game. I think our defense is under-rated and our offense will be better with Trubisky. Minnesota scored 7 pts against DET and now they don't have Cook. Look at Baltimore's last two games. I just think those two games are winnable and we can split CAR/NO to go 3-1 in next 4. Then we get the bye to get healthy and have a lighter schedule going forward. Obviously, this is extremely optimistic, but if HOU can look that good with Watson, then we should be able to look comparable with Trubisky.
  3. Bears 2017 Remaining Schedule Week 5- Oct. 9 Vikings (2-2) (MNF) W (No Cook, No Bradford, not enough offense, Trubisky gets 1st win). Week 6- Oct. 15 at Ravens (2-2) W (BAL has lost last 2 games by a combined score of 70-16, now 3-3) Week 7- Oct. 22 Panthers (3-1) L (CAR coming off a long rest since Thu Night game) Week 8- Oct. 29 at Saints (2-2) W (Early bye dooms NO, AP drama, No Cooks, 4-4 into the bye) Week 9- Nov. 5 bye Week 10- Nov. 12 Packers (3-1) W (Fresh off bye, Bears dominate Packers at home) Week 11- Nov. 19 Lions (3-1) W (We split with DET home and home, 6-4) Week 12- Nov. 26 at Eagles (3-1) L (a tough road loss over Thanksgiving) Week 13- Dec. 3 49ers (0-4) W (49ers are bad) Week 14- Dec. 10 at Bengals (1-3) W (Bengals are bad, 8-5) Week 15- Dec. 16 at Lions (3-1) L (We split with DET home and home) Week 16- Dec. 24 Browns (0-4) W (Browns are bad) Week 17- Dec. 31 at Vikings (2-2) W (With playoff berth on line, Bears win, go 10-6, get WC#2) What do you think? Remember we almost beat ATL and beat PIT. Glennon turnovers doomed us vs TB and GB.
  4. Cohen projected to have 120-724 Rushing yds, 96-600 Receiving yds, 4 Rec TDs
  5. INT #2 Another over throw. Several receivers open. Glennon had his mind made up pre snap. Never looked anywhere else, and still threw a bad pass. Thompson was actually slightly open, but again, he was not going thru progressions, and not taking what the defense gives him. A forced throw. INT on blue X.
  6. Interception Pass intended for Wheaton, zone coverage, so Glennon needs to throw between coverages. Zone 101. Wheaton is open, but he needed to throw it right after Wheaton cleared the DB who released him around the 50. The sweet spot was near the 45. He also has Howard uncovered right in front of him and another receiver open at the top of the screen. Glennon overthrows this ball right to the Safety for an easy pick. INT on red X.
  7. This play was a completion to Sims, but it shows what Glennon misses. Thompson in motion at bottom, no one follows, so he knows it is a zone coverage and there will be a gap between CB/LB and Cover 2 Safeties. He needs to throw a pass in the soft zone between the 38 and 44. As you can see in this picture, 4 guys out in routes with Howard wide open with no one near him. The miss for me was Thompson at the bottom who is at a full sprint past the stationary defender. If he hits Thompson around the 40, he probably scores. Instead he goes to Sims who gets lit up by the defender breaking in from the 40.
  8. Here is Glennon's first play. He has Miller wide open in the flats with room to run. Miller did a little chip on the DE, then curled outside. Miller went in motion and the DB followed, so Glennon knew he had man coverage. Easy throw, first down and potentially more. Miller is open from 1.8 secs until the end of the play. Wright, who looked like the intended receiver ran a long 15 yard out underneath the Fly pattern that was clearing out the safety. The problem with any deep throw is you had the single high safety, so any deep ball would potentially have 2 defenders. Glennon also has a decent pocket to step up into, but as he normally does, he plants that back foot on his drop and stays put. This allows Mathews, who was initially blocked to go all the way around Massie for the strip sack. Glennon could've already thrown the ball to Miller for a nice gain or stepped up and delivered a strike to Wright on the run.
  9. Here we go, I am so pumped for this game. The last 4 games have been so demoralizing watching Glennon. I know there will be some ups and downs, but I am excited to see the kid play. I just hope they don't do what they did in the last preseason game and run 10+ straight plays with Trubisky handing off to start the game. Instead, we need a bootleg or some movement where he only has to read half the field. The threat of him running and his mobility are going to give the receivers more room for intermediate routes. Those were taken away with Glennon behind center. GO BEARS! Bears 27 - Viqueens 17 The Trubisky Era starts with a win!
  10. Pace is going high risk/high reward it seems. QB - Took a shot on Glennon, overpaid, and it didn't work. Traded up to get Trubisky, and he will hopefully nail this pick. If Trubisky works out as a Franchise QB, the Glennon miss doesn't matter. Now Pace is all in with Trubisky. RB - Nailed Howard and Cohen, though we really lack a true #2 like we had with Langford/Carey. Also released Forte and that timing was spot on. Cohen has been insanely good and as long as he gets his touches, he could push for OROY consideration. WR - Misjudged Jeffery's value and put all his chips on the table with White/Meredith who both got hurt (risky move). I think he missed here. Pryor was an option with a comparable cap hit to Sims. I would've liked to have seen Pryor instead of Sims, especially with the loss of Jeffery. Wright/Wheaton are WR3's. TE - Overpaid for a blocking TE, probably hoped Sims would transition to a well-rounded TE like Bennett did, but he hasn't. Can't pay that much for a TE to block. Shaheen pick is fine, but we need to at least use him as a decoy, and his blocking seems pretty solid at this point. OL - I am ok where we are at, but you can't go into the season and extend Leno who was bad, and keep Massie who was terrible as the bookend OT's. Interior is solid to great when healthy, but I think Pace missed on OT. Leno should be on right, Massie as backup with a top tier LT that we lack. DL - Looked good in preseason, but outside of Hicks, not much going on here. Underwhelming to this point LB - Injuries and no suspension kill the interior, and I am still waiting for Floyd to show up. He makes 1-2 plays a game. We need him making 8-9 impact plays a game. DB - I have been pleasantly surprised with Fuller (after we don't give him his 5th year option)-which may hinder our ability to sign him. Prince and Cooper have been better than we've had and if Cooper runs that TD in, I think everyone has a different perspective on him. We still can't solve the crossing routes or picks. We never cover those properly. Even with Demps out, Amos has filled in nicely, so there has been little drop off from a starter. Jackson has played awesome as a rookie, and if he can get a couple of INT's or FF's, he should be in the running for DROY. Overall the team is better, and I think Trubisky will breathe some life into this team and fire some guys up.
  11. A great day in franchise history and Monday could be the turning point for the organization. We couldn't get Minnesota at a better time, #2 QB and #2 RB with Bradford and Cook out. Also, Minnesota is 24th in Passing Defense, so they are susceptible to the pass. I would call up Gentry as well so we can stretch the field. If even he just runs post and fly patterns, they will need to keep a Safety over the top. This should loosen up the seams for the TEs.
  12. Yep, it's time to start Trubisky, especially with Cook likely out due to injury. It would be Keenum with a 2nd string RB.
  13. Watson against TEN so far: 25-33, 75.8%, 283 yds, 4 TD, 1 INT, 127.9 Rating, 1 Rushing TD. So 5 TD's for the rookie. This is why Trubisky needs to start.
  14. Cutler had Jeffery, Marshall, Bennett, and Forte. So there was no excuse for his errors. He just had bad habits that he could not correct (throwing off back foot, etc). He always thought his arm could save him, and that got him into trouble. Otherwise, we knew what we had, he was a known commodity. Jay Cutler's first quarter against NO > 6-8, for 70 yds and an INT. Makes 2-3 great throws, then an INT. For Glennon, regardless of the WR's, he is brutal. Kendall Wright and Markus Wheaton have both produced elsewhere, and we have one of the deepest TE Corps (Miller, Sims, Shaheen, Brown) and Cohen out of the backfield. Regardless of the personnel, Glennon has been terrible. He can't read defenses, doesn't audible out of plays when the defense dictates, is totally immobile (causing sacks), and has not been accurate with his passes. Every INT has been on him, no tips, or receiver falling down, or something along those lines. All just bad throws. Also, from what it looks like Glennon's progression goes in to out, not out to in. Loggains is not very good either. If you look at the all-22 view, he has a lot of routes that are crowded, so the defense can basically cover the over and under of 2 receivers with 3 defenders.
  15. For the fact that the whistle didn't blow, I don't even know if it warrants a suspension at all. He didn't hit a defenseless player, he wasn't up in the air, and he was the ball carrier. Any time before the last 10 years, and that is a great hit.
  16. Yeah, but the national and local media, and a bunch of fans are calling it dirty. I don't agree. I don't know if it was necessary, but it didn't look like he was trying to spear him in the head.

    I’m done

There is not much more to say about Glennon. He is just a bad QB in a bad situation. This is not his team or offense. There is no way players in the locker room don't see it either.
  18. After that TNF debacle, there is no way you can start Glennon anymore. What is the point, we are 1-3 and Glennon has regressed every game. Down 21 with 4 minutes left, we run the clock out? That shows a lot of confidence in his ability. I am sure no one has confidence in him, which rubs off on the entire team. They need a spark, and Trubisky is it. Just think if they ran a hurry-up, scored in less than a minute, and got an onside kick with over 2 minutes left? They would have had a shot at the win with their timeouts. Instead, they run the clock out. Straight up embarrassing. Just think if an opposing defense has to think about a QB that can actually leave the pocket, or make plays with his legs? They have been able to stack the box and do not have to leave a spy in. They won't be able to do that with Trubisky, so there will magically be more space to make passes. If you are wondering why Glennon is always throwing into what seems like triple coverage is because they are able to free up a defender on every play knowing Glennon won't run. Safeties can stack the box, or play over the top. LB's can drop back deeper knowing Glennon won't run.
  19. Man that was a crazy hit. I am sure he will get 2-4 games for that one, due to the head to head contact. I know everyone is calling this dirty, but I don't know if it was intended to be. I am sure Trevathan was frustrated and wanted to make a hard hit, but I don't think he wanted to hit head on head. I watched it a few times and when Trevathan is closing in, his helmet is chest high on Adams, and within a few feet, Adams concedes the tackle and starts to drop straight down. When Trevathan meets him, it is head on head. The only way to avoid something like this is if the refs blow the play dead, which they didn't. Look at the below video at the 0:04 to 0:05 mark, 1:30 to 1:32, and 1:38 to 1:40.
  20. To answer Lucky, not much. Fuller still continues to play a decent, if not above average game. I saw Amos make a few plays in the box.
  21. Romo brought up a good point at the end of the game. He said that he thought Glennon was a decent QB (debatable), but also said he didn't think he was a right fit for the offense. To me it is 3-fold. First, Glennon is a below-average QB with a very limited skill set, and secondly, he is not mobile enough to move around in the pocket or make plays outside of it. Lastly, he doesn't know the offense well enough and can't read defenses. You then add that to the worst WR Corps in the league and you have a disaster on your hands. He seems to fumble every time he is sacked, and is oblivious to pressure. His INT's are just bad passes, and you can tell they are hurried like he is playing scared. To me, I don't think he has a good grasp of the offense, which is reinforced by Fox reiterating that Glennon has "only played X amount of games in this offense".
  22. I agree to an extent. You need good coaching and good players. I don't know if we have that right now. The defense has had to defend against 4 turnovers. That is a lot of extra time on the field.
  23. Fox has lost this team, completely unacceptable performance in prime time. Penalties + Performance + Preparation = coaching Players can't overcome being out of position, bad schemes, and bad coaching.
  24. Another freaking INT from Glennon who threw another bad ball right to a defender, wtf. 0 INTs for Packers coming in, and now they have 2. Glennon with 4 freaking turnovers!!!!! What the hell is the point?
  25. This team is worthless, with zero coaching. No way that should happen. We had stopped them on 3rd and long and Trevathan literally kills Adams. Completely unnecessary. The Bears should bench him for the rest of the game. Then an easy TD for Rodgers since we can't handle crossing routes and picks.
