  1. You draft him to confuse defenses with Jordan Howard in the backfield. The LBs won't know which Howard to cover, so expect a lot of missed assignments and blown coverages. You have OJ wear 88 or 83 and Jordan wear either 38 or 33 which will confuse the defenses even more. Then you have OJ go by his middle name and you have J. Howard on two jerseys, JUST THINK OF THE CONFUSION!
  2. DATE OPPONENT TIME (CT) Aug. 10-14 DENVER BRONCOS TBD Aug. 17-21 at Arizona Cardinals TBD August 27 at Tennessee Titans Noon Aug. 31-Sept. 1 CLEVELAND BROWNS TBD
  3. I tried again assuming Adams is our first pick, no QB, and with no trades: Your score is: 13472 (GRADE: A) Your Picks: Round 1 Pick 3: Jamal Adams, SS, LSU (A+) Round 2 Pick 4: Cam Robinson, OT, Alabama (A+) Round 3 Pick 3: Bucky Hodges, TE, Virginia Tech (A) Round 4 Pick 4: Taywan Taylor, WR, Western Kentucky (A+) Round 4 Pick 10: Damontae Kazee, CB, San Diego State (B-) Round 5 Pick 3: Jarron Jones, DT, Notre Dame (B+) Round 7 Pick 3: Zane Gonzalez, K, Arizona State (A+)
  4. 3. Chicago Bears Kiper: Malik Hooker, S, Ohio State | Watch highlights Safety is a clear need. I had gone with Jamal Adams here, but Hooker is more of a center fielder-type with deep range and great speed. He has some Ed Reed in him as a playmaker. In his first season as a starter, he had seven interceptions in 2016, including three pick-sixes. McShay: Jonathan Allen, DL, Alabama | Watch highlights Stick with the tape on Allen. He's still our No. 2 overall player, even after mediocre workouts. Allen's quickness and power help him constantly push the pocket as a pass-rusher, and he had 22.5 sacks in the past two seasons. The Bears could use a solidifying force along the interior. 36. Chicago Bears Kiper: Chidobe Awuzie, CB, Colorado | Watch highlights Chicago brought in Prince Amukamara and Marcus Cooper in free agency, and I had it taking a safety in Round 1, but the Bears' secondary could still use a boost. Awuzie, my No. 5 corner, is another big defender (6-0, 202) with dynamite athleticism (4.43 40, 11-foot broad jump at the combine). McShay: Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida | Watch highlights Awuzie is one of my favorite under-the-radar players in this draft, but I like Wilson better for the Bears. Chicago had just eight INTs all last season (tied for 29th overall); Wilson has some of the best ball skills in this CB class. http://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2017/insider/...-nfl-mock-draft --------------------------------------------------------- Both go defense-defense in the first two rounds. What do you think?
  5. The Trib nailed it: "Actress Olivia Munn and boyfriend break up, according to reports" http://trib.in/2oa81pn They won't even name him, lol. Now who is he going to blame when he has a bad game?
  6. I would not take the 3rd Defensive Lineman 3rd in the draft.
  7. They obviously just put random players in slots and then fill in the team later. This has to be one of the worst mock drafts I've seen in quite some time. Was that posted on April 1st?
  8. I would be ok if he were 26, but approaching 30 for that contract. If we were a little closer and only a CB away from SB contention, then I would be all in. I just don't think we are there yet.

    Would you?

If we did that, I would look to move up into the back end of the 1st with either CLE's or our 2nd round pick and a 3rd rounder. Then I would package a 5th rounder with one of our 4th's to move back into the 3rd. That would give us 2x 1st, 1x 2nd, 2x 3rd. The other option (if we have the first pick in the 2nd round which seems like it is always traded for), is to trade down from that pick and pick up a mid-2nd and another 3rd. We would end up with 1x 1st, 2x 2nd, 3x 3rd (6 picks in first 3 rounds).
  11. As long as they play on Kodiak Island, that way I could visit. So maybe the Kodiak Bears?

    Interesting mock

No OT or DL, but fills QB, TE, WR, and DB holes. Based on biggest holes to fill, right not Unrein is the worst starter on the team (according to PFF). For position groups, OT and WR are two of the worst groups overall. So I like getting 2x DB's, but it's hard to go OLB when we need help at OT and DL.
  13. I haven't lived in the Chicago area in 25 years and would not follow them if they left. Just think of the Oklahoma City Thunder Bears or Columbus Blue Bears. There is no way I am rooting/following them at that point. For me, being away from the area, the sports teams allow me to stay connected to the area and feel like I am still there. I wouldn't feel that way with the El Paso Osos.

  15. https://twitter.com/patrickfinley/status/846179084858155008 Ugh, not what we needed. Athletes amaze me, you play a kids game for a job, are given millions of dollars, then you go out and act like you are unemployed and 17 yrs old.
  16. Here are my new priorities: QB, OT, TE/WR, DL, DB, K Our first 5 picks should be QB, OT, either a TE/WR, DL, and any DB position (any order, BPA). Then use the 6th and 7th on TE/WR/DB or K.
  17. He seems like a better blocker than Bennett and someone who can break some tackles.
  18. I know, but he is a backup, so it is good to have some experience at that position in the locker room, even for Glennon.
  19. Man, I really like this draft, but I hate missing out on OL when we really need some help at OT.
  20. Sanchez is a pretty solid backup at this point in his career (I can't believe he is already 30). If you take away his name and just look at his numbers, he is a serviceable QB with a winning record. That is hard to do in the NFL. He has a better winning pct than Cutler, Cousins, Cassel, Kaepernick, Bortles, Tannehill, and Bradford. Just think, he is now the winningest QB on the roster with 37 career wins. That is more than Glennon+Shaw+Hoyer+Barkley combined. So I don't know how this makes us worse. If anything, we added some veteran presence to the QB room.
  21. This list makes me believe we will only select 1 DB in the entire draft. We have a bunch of young guys and Safety seems like Demps+ one of Amos, HJQ, Bush, DHC, and Prosinski. I also think McManis makes it as the primary Special Teamer.

    Free Agent Summary

Added all the contract numbers in the first post. Wheaton is now the highest paid WR on the roster. Wright's cap hit is under $2mil and lowest among new FA signings. I doubt Royal lasts past the draft.

    Adrian Peterson

I would say no to AP or any other veteran RB at this point. AP is over the hill and I don't know how his presence would impact the locker room as this team tries to form an identity.
