That was an epic dismantling of Green Bay. 31-0 in the 3rd quarter. Matthews was non-existent, 1 tackle and an off-sides call that extended an Atlanta drive, I love it. If Atlanta plays like that in the SB, they will beat either PIT or NE.

I don't think you can limit yourself by saying we have too much money invested so we can't go that route. If we can acquire someone like Reiff, you do it, the contract lengths won't match up so some will come off books earlier than others, and without Cutler on the roster, we will have a ton of space for free agents.

My current preference is: S, OT, QB, CB, TE, DL, WR, K
-
Hard to argue with that draft.

Definitely need Safety help, possibly our weakest unit:
-
Great rookie class, hopefully we can build on this come April.

I guess you would have to determine which group was the worst and in most need of multiple picks: OT: Leno, Massie, McCants QB: Cutler, Hoyer, Shaw WR: Jeffery, Royal, White, Meredith, Randle CB: Porter, Fuller, Callahan, LeBlanc, Hall, McManis S: Amos, Jones-Quartey, Prosinski, Bush, Houston-Carson If Jeffery comes back, we have a decent WR Corps, so I would not go multiple or high with WR. So for me, I would go Secondary and OT only in the top 4 picks. So instead of TE in your example I would go OT. I think you need to draft O-Line every year.

Schaub has the record for most consecutive games with a pick-6 at 4. He went out in style. Now if you are bringing him in with no expectations, but hoping he can find some of that magic that he had in 2009, 2010, or 2012, then sure, but I don't know if a 36-yr old Schaub in a new system is better than Hoyer at this point. I would rather go with a rookie or stay with Hoyer/Shaw at this point.
-
Are we adding Schaub to win games? He is going to be 36 and hasn't played a meaningful down of football in a long time. I don't know if we can say there is "virtually no uncertainty about him" because if he was any good, he would be starting in the NFL somewhere. So I guess I would need to know what the expectation is for him? Now, if it is to win 6-8 games, I think Hoyer is perfectly capable of doing that.
-
He would've had the over 300 yards in returns if not for a bunch of Seattle penalties (that were away from the play) and the all-time one game record. He definitely went out in style and was one of the best Seahawks on the field.

What is up with the blowouts this season? Yesterday's games were decided by 16 and 18 pts and could've been higher if Atlanta didn't take a knee at the 1. In the Wild Card weekend, the closest game was 13 featuring Osweiler and Cook. The others were just as bad. Detroit scored 6 pts, GB won by 25 and Pittsburgh was up 30-6 with 6 mins left in the game.

I thought a 5T was a DE directly over the OT in a 3-4?

I thought this NFL.com article was framed awkwardly, I hope they are being sarcastic: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000077...utures-contract

At this point (pre-combine, workouts, Senior Bowl, etc), you have to take Allen.
-
Cyprien was my #3 FA, so not the biggest or best signing. He is a tackling machine though and would be definitely be an upgrade over what we have right now.
-
I would say anyone on Alabama would not be considered a sleeper. It would have to be from a smaller program where a guy is way better than his competition but still doesn't get much press.
-
That is great news about Fangio, don't know if I still want Loggains around though. Does that mean Cutler is back too? Hopefully Mawae gets elevated, great player, and he could teach from experience.

FA #1 - Matt Kalil, OT or Riley Reiff, OT, either would significantly improve our OLine and offense while making a divisional opponent worse. FA #2 - Stephon Gilmore, CB, we need a true #1 Corner, Gilmore would fill that role FA #3 - John Cyprien, S, we need help at Safety, and if we can't get Reed, then Cyprien would be a nice consolation 1. Jonathan Allen, DE/DT 2. Desmond King, CB 3. Antonio Garcia, OT 4. Donnie Miles, S 4. Isaiah Ford, WR 5. Cole Hikutini, TE 7. Andy Phillips, K

Brandon Doughty or Connor Cook?
-
This is awesome news.

Has anyone watched Barkley's last few games, he threw 10 INTs in the last 3. Most were of the "bad" INT variety. There would be no point to pay him as a backup and expect anything more.

With the standings complete, we now know who we will play next season. For full divisions, we play the NFC South and AFC North, and then the 2 other last place NFC teams, SF and PHI. Home opponents: Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, San Francisco 49ers, Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers. Away opponents: Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Philadelphia Eagles, New Orleans Saints, Cincinnati Bengals and Baltimore Ravens. There is almost no point to go into projections, but at least we miss some really tough teams like NE, KC, SEA, and DAL next year. The only opponents with winning records outside our division are PIT, ATL, and TB. Luckily, we get PIT and ATL at home. So the only teams we play on the road with winning records would be GB, DET, and TB.
-
I would say because both of those teams are worse off than us. CLE's biggest problem has been QB forever, and SF just fired Chip Kelly and is obviously going in a different direction, so I don't think they stick with Kneelpernick. Either way, I think that all 3 of us (and probably the Jets too) will all have a QB in their top 3 or 4. The odds point to at least one going in the top 2 with us having a option to go for the 2nd QB or 2nd positional player, 1st QB or 3rd positional player, or 1st positional player or 3rd QB.
-
Rodgers led the league with 40 TDs, and only had 7 INTs and statistically had his best season since 2011 and the 2nd best season of his career after that year, so I don't know what everyone was talking about early on, but he clearly figured it out over the last 6 weeks.
-
I would say the odds of one being there is about 90% (either SF or CLE taking a QB), and about a 40% chance that both are there at #3 (SF and CLE taking QBs).
