Matt Miller? Bleacher Report? Really? There are guys on this board that I trust more than someone like that. There is no way in hell Josh Allen goes in the first 4 rounds of the draft. He started one season (hasn't even declared yet), played inferior talent, barely had a winning record for Wyoming, and lost his last 2 games with 5 TD and 4 INTs. Against Nebraska he threw 5 INTs. I wouldn't draft this guy in any round.

If Cleveland and SF both go QB, he will be there. With Chip Kelly fired in SF, the new coach may want a new QB, so QB going 1-2 is very likely.

Rarely do 3 win teams go to the playoffs the next season unless they lost a franchise QB all year or something along those lines. We were decimated with injuries, but even with those guys, there is no telling how much better we would've been. I think a 7 to 8 win season is the most likely ceiling for next year. Playoffs, especially in the North where Minnesota didn't make it, and GB and DET both made it, is going to be a challenge going forward.

Garrett or Allen, I would be happy with either, but I lean towards Allen at this point.
-
With the first round of Bowls over, who should Bears pick at #3? Your top choice.
-
After seeing how Trubisky and Watson played in the bowl games, I am no longer high on them. I never thought Kizer was worth the 3rd overall pick. I really like Allen and Garrett and based on the needs in front of us, we will have the opportunity to grab Allen or Garrett, which would be awesome. I am good with either of those players at #3 over any of the QBs at this point. My only concern was Garrett was a ghost in the Bowl game he played in (1 tackle). I think he was playing not to get injured.

Since we tied with JAX at 3-13, we will rotate with them between picking 3rd and 4th per round, so our first 3 picks should be #3, #36, and #67. If SF somehow won against SEA, we would lose the SOS tie breaker with them, but would pick 2nd in the 2nd at #34 and get #68 in the 3rd with the 3 team rotation of CHI/JAX/SF.

Howard currently 2nd in the league in rushing at 1,313 yards and only other RB than Elliott over 1,300 yards. Johnson only RB left to play that can pass him with 80 yards.
-
Barkley just played himself out of the league with his recent play. Now a fumble returned for a TD.
-
With a loss imminent, now we wait for SF later to see if we can move into the #2 slot.
-
Yeah, they have been brutal all year, and the Bears have gotten their share of missed or blown calls.
-
This team was not interested in winning this game. Actually had a chance before INT and fumble, now just get Howard 25 more rushing yards and sit him. I would sit all starters in 2nd half.
-
Barkley with another red zone INT, 6 of the last 12 possessions have ended in an INT. There is no way he is on this team after this game, he has gotten worse with more playing time. JAX up by 10 in first half, if they win they are guaranteed to draft after us. Jets tied with BUF, and LA and SF play later.

I came away with the exact opposite opinion of him. I haven't watched him before the Sun Bowl, but he seemed to have all the Cutler "playing traits". He has a great arm, can make all the throws, is mobile, but made a couple bad throws that ended up as INTs (one pick-6) where he couldn't read the defense. I actually think this game is going to make CLE pass on him. from NFL.com: Take a look at some of these clips: http://www.sbnation.com/college-football/2...l-score-results To me, he looked just like Cutler. 2 TDs, 2 INTs, and a fumble lost leaves a lot to be desired. He came into the game with 4 INTs, and those came in 2 games (2 each), both losses. So in losses, he threw 2 picks in 3 of 5 losses with an 8-6 TD-INT ratio, and in wins he was 22-0 TD-INT. We will see what Watson does against Ohio St. tonight.
-
If he is actually injured where there is potential for a bigger injury, then you absolutely sit him. I just don't think it is anything major where it would get worse.
-
You can't just pick a QB regardless at #3 because top 5 picks do not come around often. If we have a QB rated in the top 10, then you pick him at #3. If we don't (or they are already selected) you take the best player available.
-
I could see an argument either way. We are about to have our worst season in 40+ years and we don't know who are QB is going into next season. On the other hand, like you said, we have played competitive and had leads in many games with 3rd stringers and guys off the Practice Squad.
-
I think you play him as normal until halftime, then figure out resting him in the 2nd half. If we were worried about injuries in meaningless games, all of our starters for 2017 would've been resting for 6 weeks now.

Another example of why it was they traded Marshal
adam replied to Chitownhustla's topic in Bearstalk
Nothing changes with the guy. Another season without a playoff appearance for him is now no longer a coincidence. -
I don't think Watson makes it into the 2nd, but if we take #36 and #68, you can move back into the first at #22. In this scenario, we would lose Kupp, but if we re-sign Alshon, and maybe sign someone like Pryor, Stills, Wood, or Aiken, we could close that void. Revised Draft: 1. #10-Marlon Humphrey, CB 1. #22-Deshaun Watson, QB 2. #33-Ryan Ramczyk, OT 3. #65-Budda Baker, S 4. #99-Chad Wheeler,OT,USC 4. #108-Gerald Everett, TE 5. #131-Tanoh Kpassagnon,DE 7. #193-Tarik Cohen, RB

With the news of the Rex Ryan firing, I was looking to see who the lead candidates would be for HC jobs going into next season. We may or may not retain Fox (still up in the air) after potentially our worst season since 1969, but I could see both sides of the argument. With previous HC experience: Tom Coughlin, 70 ys old, 170-150 regular season record, too old for long-term position? Rex Ryan, 54 yrs old, 61-65, seems to be more mouth than anything else Gus Bradley, 50 yrs old, 14-48, never did anything outside of Seattle Josh McDaniels, OC New England, 40 yrs old, 11-17, the Cutler of coaches, everyone seems to hate him Jim Schwartz, DC Philadelphia, 50 yrs old, 29-51, seems better suited for Coordinator role Coordinators: Kyle Shanahan, OC Atlanta, #1 scoring team in league, #2 in yards, I would not be opposed to him (especially if we retained Fangio) Sean McDermott, DC Carolina, 28th scoring defense, 22nd in yards, defense regressed big-time this year Matt Patricia, DC New England, #1 scoring defense, 8th in yards, defense has been dominant, but us Bill pulling strings, either way I would be interested Teryl Austin, DC Detroit, 13th in scoring defense, 15th in yards, average production, nothing special Darrell Bevell, OC Seattle, 20th scoring, 15th yards, should've just run Beastmode So out of those 10, I would say Shanahan or Patricia would be my top two candidates. Now, I know there are other candidates like McCoy in SD or Rivera in CAR, but they are still employed so I did not include them. What do you guys think?

Pix, You had to bring up the Mirer trade? That had to be one of the worst trades of all-time. We gave up the #6 pick in the 1997 draft for him. Seattle selected Walter Jones who is a HoFer. Also, we picked John Allred, a TE with our 1st pick in the 2nd round. So if we used the #6 pick on a TE, it could've been Tony Gonzalez.
-
I don't think he will be available. Why would Washington let him go after all the years of misery with the RG3 experiment? The only drawback to signing Cousins now is that he will be 29 in 2017 and you would've lost a good 4-5 years of his prime. I like him as a player and wouldn't complain if we went for him because he would be better than anything we had in a long time, but I think we are going to go the draft route with Hoyer/Shaw.

Congrats to Victorious Secret on his big win, 6th seed with losing record to League Champion!
