Phantom call on Miller, refs continue to be garbage. So Cutler says screw it and launches a bomb to Jeffery who hauls it in.
-
and finally a sack for our defense
-
Refs are garbage, Cutler gets speared with a helmet to the chest and no call.
-
Yeah that is the difference right now, we have no pass rush and big holes for Miller to run thru.
-
Defense shows back up after 1st and goal and forces a FG, Bears lead 7-3.
-
Defense needs to clear up gap control, Miller getting hit 4 to 5 yards past the LOS.
-
Yeah both were bad spots, Cutler clearly fell forward of the LOS.
-
Damn, on 4th and a half yard, Cutler fumbles exchange and Bears turnover on downs. First real mistake on offense and it beats a missed FG.
-
Defense looked great on 2nd drive, Freeman snuffed out a RB screen and after a few penalties, Texans play it safe and run on 2nd and 3rd, then punt. Royal back for punt return and takes it 31 yards, wow.
-
After a long PI on Jeffery, Langford plows in after 2 runs for a TD. 75 yard drive against this defense is huge. Barth hits the XP, and Bears lead 7-0 early. Also, Whitehair looks solid at center, making calls at the line and no exchange issues so far.
-
Huge play from Cutler to Jeffery for 30. One other thing to note, Massie is containing Watt and literally pushed him 5 yards off the spot on a run.
-
Texans on first drive move the ball pretty easily, Osweiler gets away on pressure on 3rd and 2 and runs for 17, but then Porter comes up with a huge INT against Hopkins. Bears ball!
-
@BradBiggs #Bears inactives: CB Kyle Fuller, CB Cre'Von LeBlanc, S Deon Bush, LB Nick Kwiatkoski, OL Eric Kush, WR Cameron Meredith, DL Will Sutton
-
The under with us losing by 9 means we score less than 17. Also, losing by 9 normally means the other team hit a bunch of FG's, not us missing a lot. If Sharpe gets 100 yards against us playing for Tennessee, then we have serious issues.

No more Probable rating, so most of these will be announced as game time decisions. Bears 24-20

Leonard Floyd is inconsistent and out of shape, according to Fangio
adam replied to Bears4Ever_34's topic in Bearstalk
Pace has made you feel that way, but Emery and Trestman didn't? Pace has turned around one of the oldest and slowest rosters in the league in less than 2 years. White got injured and Floyd hasn't even played a down yet and you are calling them both busts? Let's pump the brakes a little. Slauson, Forte, and Marshall were all over 30, so no harm in letting those guys go. Bennett and Marshall were head cases and huge distractions. The way I see it, the O-Line and Front-7 are significantly better, so if our skill players and DB's play near their potential, we will have a solid team. We are also in a much better cap situation than we have been in a long time. -

Not good, hopefully it lights a fire under his a$$ to perform. -
You are comparing Pace to Emery? Emery was all talk. Pace is not afraid to make moves, which is something we are not used to. I don't see any major issues with these moves. So if the Packers cut Sitton before we cut Slauson, and we signed Sitton and subsequently cut Slauson, would anyone care? They would all say it was a great move to upgrade the O-Line. So as of today, we are in that exact situation. For the Kickers, Gould was shaky the last two years and missed some during the preseason. The team had their eye on potential low cost replacements who could perform at or above his level and they made the switch. If we are complaining about Kickers, they I think our team is in pretty good shape. For the Long Snapper, from what I have read, it comes down to the Kicker preference, so Robbie may have wanted one guy and then once he was released, the Bears went back to who Barth may have been more comfortable with. Again, if we are talking about LS's, then we are in good shape.
-
Well in regards to Slauson and Sitton. Sitton is a Pro-Bowler and was not expected to just become available out of nowhere. Grasu's injury also was not expected. In regards to the kickers, Pace said the timing was tied to Barth becoming available, that is why they had no one in camp competing against Robbie. He said if someone from their list came available, they would explore those opportunities. Again, I think the move from Gould to Barth will be marginal at best (kickoffs slightly better, more accurate inside 40) with a huge cap difference. The LS came down to the Kicker. Different Kicker, different LS.

I like it. No rookies starting, which actually shows we are not desperate. We can work the rookies in on a rotational basis.
-
You can also do the same for signatures, so for those at work or on mobile, the site is much easier to navigate.
-
Barth is better 40 and in recently and 49 and in for their careers. Gould is just much better at 50+. To me this is not necessarily even an upgrade as it is a salary dump with a little, if any drop in performance.
-
It is always better to move on a year early than a year late. I have no issues with moving on from guys in their mid 30s because you will more than likely save some cap space during the process.
-
I don't know if you are kidding but Mariani was cut and signed with the Titans?
-
I am really liking what Pace is doing with this team. Some bold moves with the signing of Sitton and cutting of Gould. It is hard to say we are not a markedly better team than we were to end last season. The preseason performance, especially in Game 3 really brought my expectations down, but the latest moves to solidfy the roster have been reassuring.
