  1. One of the best drives of the year, I would love to see that type of drive more often. A great mix of pass and run and Cutler was locked in.
  2. It should be 20-10 without 2 missed FG's and Pick6. Crazy how entire game is decided by a couple of plays.
  3. Rivers is a little beotch, that is the 2nd time he flopped when he was barely touched.
  4. Yeah 6 pts lost on special teams and a pick 6, that is a 13 pt swing.
  5. Almost 5 yards a carry and over 100 total yards is pretty solid, and that catch was sick. He is also picking up blitzes which is promising.
  6. Why would we play that defense and give them a FG? That is the 3rd or 4th time we did that this year and gave up points. I hate that.
  7. Good defense on both drops? The ball hit Alshon's hands and Verette didn't touch the ball. Those were bad drops.
  8. Kyle Long is going to kill someone. Can't believe there was not a roughing the Passer call on that play.
  9. He looks pissed, nice to have him back.
  10. Glad Jeffery showed up tonight, wtf.
  11. *Breaking News* We forced a punt on a 3 and out and Mariani had a positive punt return. Now we are going to score and tie the game right?
  12. Which part? The missed FG, inability to stop the Chargers, or the Cutler fumble? Other than that we look pretty good.
  13. I have no clue but I believe it is tied to the conference. Here is a good BR article on how schedules are made: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1350023...l-schedule-made
  14. Go Bears! Does Fox continue his AFC West dominance tonight? Does Cutler break Luckman's TD Record? Does Langford outduel Gordon? Does Mariani have a legit return? Does our Special Teams not allow a return TD? So much drama!
  15. https://twitter.com/caplannfl/status/663840593404035072 Back to back Pro Bowls, and now cut by 2 teams in half a season, wow.
  16. Wow, tale of 2 halves. GB basically shutdown in 1st half, then Carolina came out and played conservative and almost lost. What sucks is GB is now 6-2, and we could be 4-3 (if we beat DET and MIN) going into Monday Night against a beat up SD team with the potential to be 5-3 and only one game out of 1st.
  17. Even though Gase interviewed for a couple of HC jobs, I believe some in the NFL circles want to see him succeed away from Peyton Manning for a couple of years before truly considering him for a HC gig. If he gets 3 years with the Bears and Cutler, and Cutler improves or plays at a higher level than before, Gase's football acumen will be validated and he would almost assuredly get a HC opportunity. I just don't see that after one-year unless we somehow make the playoffs (which is highly unlikely). Is there any history of OC or DC's being hired as a new HC coming from a losing team? Answer over last 3 years: 1. Mike Pettine (CLE) who came from a team with a losing record the year prior who never had HC experience before. However, he came from Buffalo as the DC where they had multiple years of top 10 defenses. He is on the borderline hot seat. 2. Rob Chudzinski (CLE) who came from a 7-9 Carolina Panthers team (he was fired after one season). Other Coordinators that got jobs in the last few years (Quinn-ATL, Bowles-ARZ, Zimmer-MIN, Gruden-WAS, McCoy-DEN, Bradley-JAX) all came from winning teams. So unless Cleveland hires Gase, I don't think other teams are going to take the risk as recent history clearly shows when teams go for Coordinators as HC's, 31 teams in the league go for Coordinators from a winning team.
  18. Yeah, pretty much makes stat worthless.
  19. I wouldn't say huge, but his value has definitely increased since getting traded. Manning is all about timing and Davis will be learning a completely new system, so I expect it will take a few weeks.
  20. I assume the injury means no trade. Now it seems like we are going to get a good assessment on whether we can count on Langford full time or if we have to bring Forte back on a 2-3 year deal.

    Bears Milestones

    Through Week 8: Jay Cutler - 2,518 completions (39th, 15 from 38th and Rich Gannon) - 29,191 yards (47th, 62 from 46th and Jake Plummer) - 191 TD (48th, 1 from 46th/47th and Bob Griese and Matt Ryan) Matt Forte - 8,252 Rushing Yards (41st, 9 from 40th and Earnest Byner) - 12,198 Yards from Scrimmage (55th, 88 from 54th and Jimmy Smith) Robbie Gould - 1,140 Points (41st, 24 pts from 40th and Neil Rackers) - 260 FG Made (T37th, 4 from 35/36th and Lou Groza/Neil Rackers) - 360 XP Made (51st, 5 from 50th and Bobby Walston) Alshon Jeffery (Bears All-time Receiving Numbers): - 221 receptions (14th, 5 from 13th and Harlon Hill) - 3262 yards (12th, 262 from 11th and Brandon Marshall) - 22 TD (12th, 1 from 11th and Jim Keane)
  22. SoS will be computed after this week, so these are using last week's SoS, so we may pass Dallas for 8th after the games are computed: 1. DET 1-7 (7) 2. TEN 1-6 (30) 3. CLE 2-6 (14) 4. SD 2-6 (12) 5. BAL 2-6 (4) 6. SF 2-6 (1) 7. JAX 2-5 (19) 8. DAL 2-5 (6) 9. CHI 2-5 (5) 10. HOU 3-5 (23) 11. KC 3-5 (2) We play 3 teams on this list (SD, SF, and DET), 2 bad teams (TB, WAS), 2 great teams (GB, DEN), and 2 good, but beatable teams (MIN, STL). What is crazy is we could still technically win 7 of those 9 games and no one would question those wins, and we could also only win 3 of them and no one would question the losses. Such an odd season. Crazy how 2 losses makes a 4 game swing (going from 4-3 to 2-5, 1 game over .500 to 3 games under)
  23. What sucks is we wasted another solid, mistake-free game from Cutler. He threw a TD and ran for another, didn't fumble or throw an INT. I just wish we were a little better on 3rd down. He only has 1 INT in last 127 attempts (which has to be nearing a career long) Minnesota was coming in as a top 5 scoring defense and top 10 in yards against. We scored 20 and had over 300 yards on offense. The offense did enough to win and the defense was about 3 plays from winning. The Special Teams failed us again with that kick return. I would rather have O'Donnell kick every one out of bounds with a net of 40 yards. McManis is horrible and I have no idea what Rolle was doing when he let up that big play. Defense needs a lot of help this offseason.
  24. I don't think so, the highest they would get in a comp pick is a late 3rd, so an early 3rd (since we are almost assured of a top 10 pick) might be enough. In regards to our guys, you have to figure after a 2-5 start, we are going to try and move some of the high salary guys (Bushrod, Forte, Houston, Young, and possibly Bennett).
