  1. I agree with most of that, but I don't know about the hug thing. To me it just looked like they were trying to get down the line with Flus knowing Warren, who he just hugged, was right behind him. Unless there were more hugs lol, I only saw the one after Williams was selected.
  2. There are already soooo many cameras on these guys nowadays. This is totally different than a decade ago. The Bears already do their own form of this with 1920 Football Drive. So I don't think this will be a big deal. Also, I have to imagine guys are going to want to give it their all, all the time knowing if they are loafing, that is going to be plastered all over national tv weekly. So I have to imagine guys are going to go extra hard knowing they are on tape. Can you imagine Eddie Jackson's comments about not worrying about tackling in a Hard Knocks episode? That would be it's own storyline for the entire season. I think they are going to focus on the following storylines: 1. Caleb 2. The WR Room race to 1K 3. The Secondary and their vibe 4. The Crocodile Punter 5. Flus' new flow 6. Where is Nate Davis today? 7. Bagent's Dad arm wrestling staff members 8. Velus Jones HoF resurgence as a KR
  3. To me, I use PFF as a validator. So if something passes the eye test, has some other raw stats to back it up AND PFF has similar grades, it is more believable. Like for Leno, to me, he was always below league average, like a 20-25 ranked LT (assuming 15-16th is league average), he was definitely serviceable, but his best trait was his health. Hard to pay top dollar for someone like that.
  4. Very cool, more Bears content is always good. The team already video tapes a bunch of stuff so I don't know how much different it will be for the players. On Phil, that is cool.

Have you seen any of his workout videos? He looks less explosive than last year, like the injury is still impacting him get off. I don't think he is signing with anyone any time soon.
  6. This is sort of dependent on how you look at it, Jones is 31st and Wright is 32nd. So you could say Jones is one of the worst LTs in the league while Wright is the best RT. Jones is good enough, and Wright still needs to improve. If both can improve this season, then when you add in Amegajie as the swing tackle, that is a solid OT room. Center needs to be addressed and I still do not trust Davis at RG.
  7. and if you figure that you get an extra year with him, that he should be even better in 2025 with 1 year under his belt than he would be coming out as a rookie in 2025, even with an extra year of college.

With the secondary being so elite, it feels like that energy is going to propagate throughout the rest of the defense. That unit may be the best in the NFL this year, and in reality, the Bears LB+Secondary may be the best as well when you include Edmunds, Edwards, and Sanborn into the mix.
  9. The draft really fell almost perfect for the Bears. Top 2 players on their board, best punter in the last decade, Booker for only a future 4th but were looking to move up immediately after picking Taylor. So they clearly had a 4th round grade (or better on Booker).
  10. The rumor can be true, however, it seems to be more like this: Worker at Halas Hall - tells Phil that he never saw Flus and Getsy speak to each other. What that guy doesn't tell Phil or Phil doesn't ask, how often are you around them, are you in meetings, or behind closed doors? So it may have been a public thing, which I could see. Maybe they didn't like each other and if that is the case, I could see that too. Either way, this is going to be a telling season for Flus. I don't know if he is on the hot seat, but of all the coaches, staff, and players, he is probably the closest to being on the hot seat. I would say that order goes: Flus, Davis, Braxton, Edmunds, and Herbert.

Also, the Eagles defense is a lot different than the Titans, so he was basically playing at half speed. I really like him and think he will be a pleasant surprise on defense. All he has to do is play average and it will be a massive upgrade from Jackson. Also, if you remember a few years ago, Jackson was basically telling rookies that they didn't need to worry about tackling. Byard is clearly not like that. He fits in well with Brisker and the rest of the secondary. I would not be surprised if they extend him to allow the team to address other positions in 2025's draft.
  12. Regardless, I am sure he still provides some great breakdowns, he clearly knows what he is talking about on the tape. It is hard for me to take what he says about rumors seriously though. Not that he is not correct, or that he doesn't actually have inside info, but if it sounds sensational, I tend to just leave it there as a rumor.

I am glad this is happening and it would be a bad look for the defense if a rookie QB is carving them up this early in the offseason. I hope it is a battle for him all offseason and he just shows the growth we have wanted to see from the previous drafted QBs. Byard is going to be a better addition than most expect. Jackson was terrible and predictable. Byard can play both FS and SS, so they can get more exotic in their pre snap coverage looks than they could in the past.
  14. He has recovered a lot since then, but man, when it happened, it was UG LEE. There are a lot of links about it on Google. He basically deleted whatever Twitter Accounts he had, went dark, then came back online a few years later like nothing happened. He has done a good job since that point but if you witnessed it, it is hard to unsee it. Here is a forum post where someone is asking about burner accounts: https://www.bearsfansonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7548 Here is a Reddit post about it: Another one: Here is the deleted Twitter account, you can still search it: https://twitter.com/FulphilO/ What is wild is he didn't need to defend himself. He posted good video breakdowns, but for some odd reason, any negative comment would set him off. Then he would swap to his burner accounts and attack the other person. To the point where he was doxxing people from the burner accounts to discredit them. It was sooo bizarre. Once I say that, he lost all credibility with me.
  15. Draft Dr. Phil? I don't mind the draft stuff, but he was busted a few years ago with a bunch of burner Twitter accounts and paying for followers. He got busted, went dark, and then came back. Basically he was citing himself as the inside sources, then backing it up with other burner accounts referencing other burner accounts. It was pretty wild. He got caught replying as himself on one of the burner accounts, tried to delete it, and then it all unraveled.
  16. 2 - how does that make sense if Getsy wanted to stay with Bagent but they went back to Fields? Did Poles come down and interject and bypass Flus? I highly doubt it. There may have been something they didn't speak to each other about, but I highly doubt they didn't speak to each other all year. With how NFL teams operate, especially on game day with challenges, etc, I don't even know how that is possible. Just say it was, then winning 7 games like that is a borderline miracle.

    PFFs Top 32 WRs

Yeah, it really is hard to fathom. To think one of those 3 will draw CB3, a LB, or a S on every play is wild.

    PFFs Top 32 WRs

There have been a few periods with 2 WRs, but never 3. Odunze is a WR1 on at least 10 teams, a WR2 on all but 5-6 teams, and the top WR3 in the NFL. That may not seem like a big deal, but if Allen or Moore miss any time, the drop off won't be massive like it normally is.

    PFFs Top 32 QBs

They have Stroud 10th on this list, but also have Rodgers at 8. If you look at skill position players, Stroud had Collins and Dell as his top 2 WRs where Williams has Moore and Allen AND Odunze. So Stroud's performance last year should be Williams floor to be honest.
  20. True, but QBR is also roster-based, he is obviously producing elite numbers due to his performance with his supporting cast and coaching.

    PFFs Top 32 QBs

Caleb comes in at #19, between Geno Smith and Baker Mayfield. This feels like a pretty fair spot to start at, though, I think he will be closer to to 10 than top 20. I think he will be better than Murray, Smith, and Lawrence at least. Lawrence at #12 seems too high for me. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-quarterback-rankings-all-32-starters-2024-nfl-season

    PFFs Top 32 WRs

I don't know if the Bears have ever had 3 top 30 WRs on the same roster. I think Allen is probably a little low and Odunze a little high (for a rookie) but regardless, this is impressive nonetheless. #12 - Moore #22 - Allen #29 - Odunze https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-pff-wide-receiver-rankings-top-32-ahead-of-the-2024-nfl-season
  23. The team's track record against good/great QBs is not good. Hopefully the offense will help that, but the best QB a Flus defense ever beat was Goff. Besides Goff, in the other 6 wins, they faced Howell, Hoyer, Young, Dobbs, Murray, and Heinicke. In 2022, it was Lance, Mills, and Zappe. So in Flus' 10 wins, only Goff, Murray, and Young are still starting QBs. That scares me a little bit. Here is what this season's QBs look like: 1 - Levis 2 - Stroud #15 3 - Richardson 4 - Stafford #6 5 - Young #29 6 - Lawrence #17 8 - Daniels/Mariota 9 - Murray #22 10 - Maye/Brissett 11 - Love #9 12 - McCarthy/Darnold 13 - Goff #11 14 - Purdy #1 15 - McCarthy/Darnold 16 - Goff #11 17 - Smith #14 18 - Love #9 4 games against top 10 QBs (Purdy, Lovex2, Stafford) ----------------------------------- 6 games against QBs from 11th-22nd ----------------------------------- 1 game against bottom 10 QBs (Young) 6 games against QBs without a QBR from 2023 I know it is not that easy, but just say the Bears lose the 4 against the top 10 QBs, split the middle games, and win all at the bottom, that is still a 10 win team without having to beat an elite QB. So just say they do and beat Love at least once, now you are lookin at an 11+ win team.
  24. I think we know the answer on both of them as neither are here. Fields did not improve last year or take the expected leap that everyone, even myself, thought he would take. The one thing that stood out to me amongst a bunch was the fact that Fields could not work with more than one WR. Mooney had 1K yards, has great rapport with Fields on and off the field in 2022, then Moore shows up and Mooney becomes a ghost. People blamed Getsy, but I think that was Fields not being able to hit Mooney if he wasn't the first read. In a weird way, Nagy got a fairly quick hook. I didn't care for his play calling, but it's interesting that he got fired with a winning record and his worst season was 6 wins (his only losing season). So Flus is in Year 3 and has yet to match Nagy's 3rd best season or in 2 seasons Flus' 10 wins is still 2 fewer than Nagy's in 2018 alone.
  25. Here is a cool way to look at the schedule, solely based on net rest. I don't know how much it correlates to more or less success, but the Bears are tied for 8th and have 3 games with more rest and 2 games with less rest than their opponents: Games with extra rest: +7 days @WSH, +3 days @SF, +3 days @ GB Games with less rest: -7 days vs GB, -1 vs @DET The away games with less rest seems to be the worst, and the Bears only get one game that fits that criteria (@DET with 1 less day of rest), which seems positive. They also get 3 other road games with extra rest, which should help for games on the road. I don't like giving GB an extra week to prepare of us though. That one sucks. With 2 THU games late in the season, the Bears do play 6 games in 32 days (basically every 5 games), I feel like that might catch up to them in late December.
