  1. Seems to have a higher ceiling than Carey: http://www.mlive.com/spartans/index.ssf/20...remy_langf.html
  2. or it means Forte's days are really numbered.
  3. If he is going BPA, Langford was selected 20 slots after his big board ranking (CBS Sports).
  4. There goes Flowers, Williams, Petty, and Sample (I really liked Sample).

How do we even know if they wanted to get out of Cutler's contract, and based on the framework with guaranteed money, it was going to be hard to move on in such a short amount of time anyway. I will miss Tillman too, but there is no way to know what he has left as a CB at 34 needing to play more man than zone. I have a friend who is a Ravens fan and he felt McPhee was the best player on their defense and is still pissed that they lost him. Royal had more receptions and yards than Marshall last year, is 2 years younger, fills a huge need in the slot, and saves cap space. Even though we have some dead money this year for Marshall, his cap hit if he was on the team would've been more than Jeffery, Royal, and White combined this year. I actually applaud Pace for his timing. He got out before it got really bad, but the dysfunction was a lot higher than him.
  6. TD, I am confused though. This entire offseason has been different, and something we have not experienced as Bears fans in a long time. The hiring of Pace was "different", the hiring of Fox fell into our laps and we have potentially the best coaching staff from top to bottom that we ever had (Fox, Gase, Fangio, Donatell, etc). We made some low risk high reward signings with McDonald, Foster, Acho, Rodgers, Montgomery, Jenkins, etc, and filled huge needs with McPhee, Royal, Rolle, and Ball. Now we head in the draft and get arguably the best player available filling a huge need in White, we lock down a gap in our new 34 front with Goldman, and then get our new Olin Kruetz in Grasu. To me I don't know what more you could ask for as a fan within the limits of reality. What specifically do you have issues with?
  7. Player, Pos, College, (Big Board Rank) L. Collins OT LSU (18) T. Clemmings OT Pitt (50) G. Jarrett DT Clem (60) B. Hundley QB UCLA (63) B. Petty QB Baylor (73) J. Shaw CB USC (87) M. Hardison DT Arz St (101) R. Nunez-Roches DT S. Miss (104) I. Ekpre-Olomu CB Ore (109) D. Smith FS Fres (110) With such an early pick in the round, I don't see Pace deviating from his current draft mentality. With that, a few of these guys should be available with the 7th pick in the round. If they are not sold on Petty or Hundley, I would go Smith/Shaw/Ekpre and pray for Ryan in the 5th. So it would either be CB-LB-S or S-LB-Other in the last 3 rounds.

Yeah, there was always a few head scratchers or reaches every year. Between our free agent signings (and contracts), and now our top 3 picks, I have complete faith in this staff. It is hard to not come away impressed with what Pace and Co. have done so far.
  9. Using my mega sophisticated draft value scoring system, using the CBS Sports Big Board, Pace is a boss right now. In 3 picks he has increased the value of our draft by the equivalent of a mid 3rd round pick. We basically got Goldman and Grasu later than their grades without having to trade up to get them. I compare the slot they were projected in, and add or subtract the draft trade value for those slots to where they were actually drafted. Then I take the cumulative total to come up with the overall value of the draft. Name/Pick/Big Board/Value Kevin White 7 - 7 = 0 Eddie Goldman 39 - 27 = +170 pts Hroniss Grasu 71 - 61 = +57 pts Total = +222 (+ mid 3rd round pick, #74) What I also like about this draft is that we have filled clear needs and still basically got BPA (or close to it for our needs). All 3 players have 10 year starter potential, and White has a silly high ceiling. Derron Smith and Jake Ryan in the next two rounds?
  10. I think you have been calling for him since he was in high school, lol. Nice work, Pace throwing you a bone.
  11. Grasu is the pick.
  12. TV is delayed, Twitter is live.
  13. Here are some players (minus WR, RB, DL) available in the 3rd: Clemmings, T.J., OT, Pittsburgh Dawson, Paul, LB, TCU Williams, P.J, CB, Florida St. Cann, A.J., OG, South Carolina Harold, Eli, LB, Virginia Mauldin, Lorenzo, LB, Louisville Jackson, Tre, OG, Florida St. Smith, Derron, FS, Fresno St. Grasu, Hroniss, C, Oregon Walford, Clive, TE, Miami Smith, D'Joun, CB, Florida Atlantic Expre-Olomu, Ifo, CB, Oregon Flowers, Trey, DE, Arkansas Anderson, Henry, DE, Stanford
  14. He can be mentored by Bryant, lol.
  15. Pace almost surgical at this point. I like the pick, I was thinking names (Gregory, Fisher), but Goldman makes too much sense, and some had him late first round.
  16. If we get Collins, Fisher, or Gregory I will be extremely happy.
  17. Yeah, I remember when he was in the top 5 and ahead of Fowler, Beasley, Dupree, and Ray. For me, my Bears Big Board is: Gregory - too much value to pass up Fisher - pair with Long (Duck Right?) Collins - huge need at Safety filled Clemmings - comparable to Fisher IMO Phillips - DLine help Rowe - Versatile DB Goldman - DLine help Kendricks - ILB stud Dawson - ILB stud DGB/Smith/Strong/Yeldon also should come off very soon. The entire top half of the 2nd is essentially getting first round talent.
  18. The red flags scare me, but if you watch the tape, he is a playmaker. I doubt he makes it to us at 39. I can even see a couple of teams moving up into the mid-30's to grab him.
  19. The coverage skills are why he has fallen, but he is still one of the best prospects left on the board and especially at Safety. If he is there at 39, I don't know how the Bears pass him up.
  20. Funny to see the video clip of White torching Alabama (w/ Collins in view).
  21. Here is PFF's top 10 available 2nd day players, I was surprised to see 4 of them from my "draft sleepers" list below: Devin Smith, Ohio State, WR - if we didn't get White, I would've loved Smith Grady Jarrett, Clemson, ID - DL candidate with a few others (Goldman, Phillips) Henry Anderson, Stanford, ID - production is hard to pass up, but some consider him too much of a tweener Jaelen Strong, Arizona State, WR - don't need another WR La’el Collins, LSU, OT - dropped due to issues, doubt he is on our board (would rather have Fisher, then Clemmings or Smith) Landon Collins, Alabama, S - surprised he dropped this far, but coverage skills scare teams, would be hard to pass up at 39 though Maxx Williams, Minnesota, TE - seemed like a 2nd round pick all along, but I don't see the need Paul Dawson, TCU, LB - mid-2nd is about where he should go, would not mind the pick (others: Kendricks, Perryman) Randy Gregory, Nebraska, ED - dropped due to issues, don't know if he is worth the headache (others: Harold, Trey Flowers, Arkansas, ED - production is hard to pass up
  22. Looks like Fisher or Collins, or move down about 10 picks and still get a stud
