There we go. Remember not too long ago he was a HC candidate for us. Brad, our coaches only take positions at or below their levels. Trestman down, DeCam same, Tice down, Marinelli same. Who knows why Gase was not hired by other teams, he might not have liked the other locations and then came back once Fox was hired. I just love the fact that we have the best set of GM/HC/OC/DC that we have ever had since the Ditka days. https://twitter.com/ChicagoBears/status/558065663357759489 http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...cb-db85971c6abe

Essentially the Bears have 3 days of free agency to figure out what to do with Cutler before the $10 mil kicks in for 2016. The same happens in 2016 with an additional $6 mil kicking in for 2017.
-
I have a feeling he lands with us after Trestman beat him out in Baltimore.
-
I wouldn't mind Weis, he somehow got Cassel to play good and the Pats have never won a SB after he left (won 3 with him as OC).
-
He is taking over a top 10 offense, this could backfire easily on him and the Ravens.

Dan Durkin / Brad Biggs Indicate Ratfliff Might be Gone
adam replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
With age and injury history, probably a good idea to move on and re-sign Paea. -
My Baltimore friend at work was a little surprised and doesn't see this as a great hire. I just told him to make sure they fire him after the first year.

With our GM, HC, DC, and Coach hires, here are a list of players (with a positive PFF rating) that they would be intimately familiar with: From SF: Mike Iupati, 28, G, (11.2 PFF) Chris Culliver, 27, CB (8.5 PFF) Perrish Cox, 28, CB (1.2 PFF) Dan Skuta, 29, LB (1.1 PFF) Trindon Holliday, 29, WR/KR (0.0 PFF) From DEN: Terrance Knighton, 29, DL (12.7 PFF) Orland Franklin, 27, G (12.0 PFF) Virgil Green, 27, TE (5.7 PFF) Nate Irving, 27, LB (1.1 PFF) Rahim Moore, 25, S (0.3 PFF) From NO: Mark Ingram, 25, RB (1.2 PFF) Patrick Robinson, 27, CB (0.1 PFF)

Absolutely, but it starts with him. Fox is obviously driving the train now (while Packers are row row rowing down the Loser stream).
-
SF has some DB UFAs: Chris Culliver, 27, CB (8.5 PFF) Perrish Cox, 28, CB (1.2 PFF)

Just looking at Fox/Fangio against Trestman/Tucker is hilarious. Pace has been nailing these hires.
-
With Tucker's departure, we just won 2 more games next year.

Congrats to Martellus for making the Pro Bowl. Should be fun on Twitter with him and Long there. http://chicagofootball.com/2015/01/19/chic...o-bowl/bwlxdop/

Yeah, and that he chose us over them which is a huge positive. From a HC and DC perspective, pretty hard to top Fox and Fangio across the league. From Trestman and Tucker (LMAO) to Fox and Fangio. Wow, what a difference a year makes - and GB still sucks.

Yeah, I think he was more relieved that he wasn't the goat with what was going to go down as the worst playoff performance by a QB in NFL history. I like him, a lot of heart, but I think the jury is still out on him performance-wise. Seems pretty tough to get an honest assessment with that defense and Beastmode. Would you believe he owns 3 of the worst 5 QBRs by a QB in a playoff win in the last 5 years? Of all the winning teams and QBs, and he has 3 out of the top 5 (or bottom 5). It is funny how perceptions change if a team wins or loses. Wilson wins and all you hear is about how he "believed" and made plays at the end to win. If the same stats occur, but they lose, all anyone would talk about is how bad he played. Either way, I hope he gets $25 mil a year, which would force Seattle to not re-sign 3-4 other starters from their roster. If they want Thomas, Chancellor, Sherman, Wagner, and Wilson, then they literally will have the rest of their roster all on league minimum deals.
-
Yeah, in 2008 he somehow made Cleveland into a top 10 offense (4x Pro Bowlers), that alone is amazing.
-
Once he gets that, the Seahawks will struggle.
-
With the way the organization was run over the past few years, I don't mind this hire. As long as he has same vision as Pace it is a good move. Saints have been a lot better than us lately.
-
Exactly and I believe that is the sticking point right now for OC. If we are going after Cooter who is a drunk QB coach who was horrible in Detroit, it is getting bad. Stafford regressed this year.
-
Yeah he said something about how he reminded Jay that it is only fun when you are winning, and how Jay reaching out to him was a good move. That whole sequence was odd. I also think Jay is why we don't have an OC yet because they are going to want to know who the QB is going to be. I really hope Urlacher comes back in some type of QA/QC or Linebackers coach. He basically already did the job on the field and was always passionate.
-
I don't know how a team recovers from that type of collapse. That might have been one of the worst sequences in playoff history. Bonehead play after bonehead play, passive coaching, etc. They handed Seattle that game. btw, people really want Russell Wilson? He made 2-3 throws the entire game (and when he had 8 seconds to throw). The difference to me is his team is so good around him that he can play that bad and still win. That is why QB comparisons are sort of irrelevant because if Cutler played like that, we would lose by 60.
-
Yeah, if I was seeing this from a neutral perspective on a very expensive player, it would lead me to believe that he is gone. Otherwise, he would say that Cutler is the starting QB until we further evaluate the roster. The way he said it, it sounded more like if we can't find a better option, he will be here. Says he wants to be able to run the ball and stop the run, that is the essence of football. He talked about talking to Ditka and repairing relationship with Urlacher.

Anyone is better than Joe D, this is an upgrade.
