  1. Here are the times when our guys will be speaking to the media if anyone is interested: Wednesday, Feb 18th: 1100: John Fox 1230: Ryan Pace * all times EST
  2. Any interest in either of these guys in the slot? KC is the new "where WR's go to die". So it is hard to give an honest assessment due to how bad they have been at WR. Avery is quicker but older. Jenkins was great at U of I, but has been essentially a draft bust. http://www.kcchiefs.com/news/article-2/Chi...16-4a5576c5b526
  3. It looks like Gase was offered the SF HC job, but only if Tomsula was his DC. He said no, and would keep Fangio or look to get an Assistant from Cincinnati. SF said no to Gase and Fangio and then pushed Tomsula up from DLine to HC.
  4. Yeah, why not, had a positive PFF Grade, would know the defense pretty well and seems to have a lot of upside. Also, shouldn't cost that much. I think we need to bring in 5-6 Skuta's, guys that graded out positively, but might have not played a full season as a starter, and are now a free agent that could be had for a mid-low level contract.
  5. I don't think you can really use NE and SEA as the norm. NE has Brady and Belichick and have been going against the norm for a long time. Seattle's offense leaves a lot to be desired and the WR corps is what cost them a SB. Of the other playoff teams you had Hilton, Nelson, Cobb, Bryant, Thomas, Sanders, Green, Megatron, Tate, Brown, and Smith all were in the top 20 in the NFL. If anything WRs are more valuable now than ever before. That is why you will see 2-3 WRs drafted before the first RB or TE. Marshall is still a #1 for another year or two.
  6. Nope that is him, Skins, Jets, then Colts.
  7. Raiders make sense but I would be surprised if the Bears picked him up. He has been a non-factor for several years.
  8. Cutting him would be a bad move IMO, as we would get no compensation for losing him.
  9. Actually a little surprising as he would be a better backup and mentor for rookie QB than Glennon. He will probably end up in Baltimore with Trestman.

  11. Looks like he played decent after returning to the starting lineup: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2015/...-starting-role/ Better than Conte, I am sure, and if he comes cheap, then go for it.
  12. It is pretty clear that he indirectly said/implied that he would acquire: Eddie Royal, Mark Ingram, and Mike Iupati on offense, and is going to sign Terrance Knighton, Rahim Moore, Chris Culliver, David Harris, and at least one more LB (McPhee) and CB (Jackson) on defense. Here are the Saints free agent acquisitions since 2006: http://www.nola.com/saints/index.ssf/2013/...leans_sain.html The biggest takeaway is they signed 13 FA's in 2006 and had 8 draft picks. 21 new players in one offseason. They also had an insane draft in 2006: Bush, Harper, Evans, Ninkovich, Strief, and Colston (last 2 in the 7th). They then followed that up with 8 FA's and 7 draft picks in 2007. So the potential was there to have 36 new players on the 53 man roster in 2 years.
  13. I doubt we will make a huge signing like Houston, who is going to cost a lot. I think we will make some impact signings, but we have too many holes to fill to make 1 huge splash.
  14. Ah I gotcha, I read too fast. Knighton/Shelton would be insane.
  15. If we go Knighton, then I don't think we go Shelton, but you never know.
  16. I think he will be there at 7, if we want him. Mariota, Winston, Gregory, Williams, and Cooper are almost guaranteed to be gone in the top 6, leaving one other at large player before we select. I am now leaning towards Shelton now from Ray, but would be happy with either.
  17. I think we definitely under-achieved last year which each phase of the game made the others worse. With just a new coaching staff and front office I feel like the team in general will be better. If we can make some solid upgrades on defense from a personnel standpoint, then we essentially have multiple ways to improve. If the offense can get back to 2013 numbers (which it is capable of), then we can even improve further.

I wouldn't go that far. How many guys are signed off the street every year? You probably won't find a starter, but you can definitely find some raw talent and hidden gems to fill out your roster this way.
  19. That is a very solid starting defense and I see that as the low end of possibilities (4 in free agency, 2 in draft).
  20. Technically, we need 2x Safeties, 2-3x LBs (only 4 currently under contract), 2 CBs (Jennings is not a starter anymore and Fuller may end up only being a Nickelback), and at least 1x on the line.

It just seems like some guys (especially undrafted Free Agents) are becoming more relevant in the league nowadays, so for some guys stuck on practice squads or way down on the depth chart, this seems like a great way to at least show off your measurables. I don't know how I missed this.

    Veteran Combine

I totally missed this, so sorry if this is a repost, but this seems like a great idea for teams to get an apples to apples comparison of vets trying to make a team. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...gents-in-march/
  23. It is probably a pipe dream, but if we brought in 5 new defensive starters via free agency, and filled 2-3 more in the draft, we would essentially have an entirely new defense going into 2015 (which would be awesome). We actually have the cap space especially if we can structure the contracts to kick in starting in 2016. Wishful thinking, but at least one free agent upgrade on the line, LB, CB, and Safety seems reasonable. If we are going to the 3-4, we will obviously need more LBs than DLinemen.
  24. No, just one, that is why I had them labeled as 2a and 2b.
  25. Here is my wish listL Offense: 1. Eddie Royal, WR 2a. Mike Iupati, G, 28 2b. Orlando Franklin, G, 27 3. Mark Ingram, RB, 25 4. Virgil Green, TE, 27 I feel like at a minimum if we can get a Slot Receiver and some help on the O-Line, the others would be just icing on the cake. Ingram would be an awesome change of pace back and Green would be a great 2nd TE. Obviously salaries would play a huge part because the defense needs a lot more love than the offense.
