I was thinking more along the lines of: @GB - win, we get our act together during the bye and win a shootout 37-34 MIN - win, we get out first home win and get to .500 TB - win, we get our first 3 game win streak @DET - loss, DET beats us in a tight game, 24-20, now 6-6 DAL - win, Romo still hurting, Cowboys come back down to earth (they just lost to WAS), 7-6 NO - win, outdoors and cold, NO loses, 8-6 DET - win, dome team outdoors in winter, we get revenge and make Division really interesting. 9-6 @MIN - win, with season on the line we destroy MIN to go 10-6 and still miss the playoffs. We end up 10-6, no playoffs, and the 20th pick.

I've lost it...we really are ran by a bunch of clowns

I believe there was some hesitation about Arians due to age and health. Sucks that we essentially had Trestman first when we had the pick of the litter. -
Had to visit these for a laugh.

This entire year has been a hot mess. To me, this year was supposed to be different. We had all the offensive excuses out of the way, 2nd year in same system, solid O-Line with continuity, QB Guru, etc. On defense, we were historically bad last year but picked up several FA's and drafted defense early and often. On paper, we were going to improve. Most said by a couple of games, and I even seen us as a sleeper pick in the NFC (boy were they wrong). Everything pointed up. Then we lost to Buffalo, at home, against EJ freakin Manuel. We couldn't stop the run and got shredded because our LB's couldn't stay in their gaps. Then they got us again, they make a miraculous comeback in SF and then win at NY. We were ready for GB, then we played the game. We got embarrassed. Then we go to Carolina and give them a game, and then rebound with a solid game in Atlanta. Now we are coming home and can't possibly lose 3 in a row in Chicago, and we lose Ryan "Marino" Tannehill. So we all get optimistic about NE, and we allow a record amount of points in a half in team history. Under Trestman, we are now 11-13 and have a -75 in points differential. We have arguably the best set of skill players (RB, TE, WR, WR) in the game and we have scored 28 once. Now all I care about is beating GB.

Exactly, Kromer is not immune to criticism. O-Line has taken a huge step back, Offense looks defensive, passive, out of sync and clunky. We have zero consistency. We all knew Tucker was bad, and nothing has changed my opinion of him to date. He is over his head as a DC. The game plan shows that as we cannot protect against play action passes, ever. For Emery, I wonder if he felt pressure to turn the roster over faster than normal. Out of Houston, Allen, and Young, Young has been the only one earning his pay. The others, especially Houston, are complete busts. Houston epitomizes this season. He is literally more valuable to us injured than on the field. Can you believe that was his first sack of the year, in garbage time against a backup rookie QB. Since the injury occurred at no fault to the team, he should lose the rest of his salary this year.
-
He won't be missed, he rarely was even noticeable on the field. By far one of the biggest FA busts we've had in a long time.

Seattle could really use a top flight WR. With all the other teams hurting for players, I wouldn't mind a veteran fire sale.

As bad as the offense is with their inability to move the ball consistently, the defense is horrendous. They cannot cover anyone and the scheme stops no one. We are on our heels every play. Then when we are on offense, we only take what they give us and don't attack at all. Every play is almost telegraphed. Neither side of the ball is dominant, and the Special Teams is one of the worst units ever. It seems like the entire team has taken on Cutler's demeanor.
-
Cutler ended with a QB Rating of 108.6 with the bomb INT. It was higher before that play. Crazy how stats can look on the surface. We also won the 2nd half 16-13, so we should technically get half a win.

Top 10 would be nice actually because there is always the potential to trade down to around 20 if there is not a stud there.

3 games back in the Division and probably the WC after this week, with 8 to play. We would need a miracle to make the playoffs and this team has shown zero consistency to say they can sustain a run. The crazy part is we have now lost to a 6-2 team (NE), 5-3 team (BUF), 4-3 team (MIA), 5-2 team (GB), and 3-4-1 team (CAR). All actually turned out to be pretty good teams, and our Strength of Schedule is much harder than it originally looked. I would say the only possible way back would be to go 4-1 in remaining Division games (split DET, sweep MIN, beat GB), then beat NO and TB, and lose to DAL, which would be amazing and still only give us a 9-7 records (and best non-playoff team record). So play for 8-8 and 20th draft pick or tank, play youngsters and go for a top 8 pick?

The sooner the better. We need to axe a bunch of coaches, no way this much talent can underperform so immensely. Detroit won today without Megatron, Bush, 3x TEs, and Tulloch. We have the same record as Minnesota with AP, that is sad. I would fire Kromer, Tucker and DeCaworthless within the next day or two and have two weeks with new Coordinators/Coaches.

It's not you, this team is horrible. Most underachieving team in the league, by a long shot.
-
lol yeah unbearable should be the theme this year. We need a huge shake-up. Fire someone this week so the team can try to regroup during the bye.
-
Impossible to play against a team like NE at home when the refs are giving them every call then calling phantom calls on us. The Bears are still playing like crap, but no way are they playing 38-7 bad. Season is over, so at least we can move on from playoff discussions. With an impending 3-5 record, we would have to go 7-1 to win 10 games in the 2nd half, lol right.
-
It is hard to image our offense being worse than our defense, but man, they can't do anything. This is ugly. We are a 4-5 win team playing like this.
-
It was a defensive score
-
Lol, can he play safety?

Most odds makers have us as 7 point underdogs. What a perfect time to totally redeem ourselves. I think people are giving NE too much credit, they have wins against Minnesota, Oakland, Cincy, Buffalo, and the Jets. None of those wins were really impressive, and they barely beat OAK and NYJ. They lost to MIA and KC. They won't have their leading rusher (Ridley) and their leader in sacks (Jones). Controlling Gronk seems to be the key. On defense, they are #1 against the pass, only allowing 209 per game, but they are near the bottom against the run. This is going to be an epic win and get us back into things going into the bye before we slice some cheeseheads in Week 10. Bears 31 - Super Bowl XX Losers 20

We are currently projected to finish with a 7-9 record and the 10th draft pick.

Jay Cutler is the highest paid player in the NFL, he should at least play up to half of that salary. He has dipped to a top 20 QB. The Bears are paying him like a top 5 QB, he needs to start earning it, putting the team on his back and willing them to victory. Another loss and the wheels are coming off this team. 1-3 in our last 4 with 2 at home.

See post 4 above yours lol.

To me, they are going to take the keys away and give him only 1 or 2 options at the line. I believe the almost every INT has come on an audible, which there was a "miscommunication". Also, like I said in another thread, we seem to have become very predictable in our formations, and Cutler is back to starring down receivers: If this is the case, shame on Trestman and Kromer. This is one of these easiest things to do. Show the same formation and change the routes, the motion, and the progression. This is literally football 101. We need to start putting some of the blame on Kromer as well.

He has 2 sacks, 16 tackles, and 6 stuffs for the Rams in 7 games. Not bad. Ferguson has 5 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 passes defended in 7 games.
