Hey, he didn't fumble in the video. With all the RB injuries around the league, I am sure he will get a shot. Nice to actually see he is motivated, I guess he is getting low on the flow.
-
At this point, we can't do any worse than what we have right now. Holliday has 4 Return TD's in the last 2 years, so he can return the ball. Holding onto it is another topic.
-
It would be nice to see Suh not hitting our QB twice a year. If you can't stop em', sign em.

Vandy was 2-10, 2-10, 2-8, and 5-6 when Cutler was there. He was a combined 11-34. Statistically speaking, this is Cutler's best year, highest QB Rating, QBR, Yards per game, Comp%, and TDs. The only drawback is he is now tied for the league lead in INTs (6) with Luck, Ryan, Brees, Fitzpatrick, Bortles, and Smith. We just need to put together one complete game and start the ball rolling on a winning streak.

Cutler is part of the problem, but literally only to blame for 1-2 bad plays a game. The Special Teams as a whole, coaching, and the defense are also to blame for the losses. Our Special Teams have been brutal this year, we are 26th in average starting position, and 32nd for our opponent's starting position. Opponents average start is the 35, wow. The next best teams are JAX and OAK, that should tell you how bad they are. In a way, the Special Teams set the tone for the entire team. We are often times backed up inside our own 20 when starting a drive and our opponents have a bunch of drives near the 50. That immediately neuters the playbook and we become predictable. An odd note to this season is the number of mobile or running QBs we faced so far. Manuel, Kaepernick, Smith, Rodgers, and Newton all are risks to leave the pocket. The next 3 weeks we face more traditional pocket passers in Ryan, Tannehill, and Brady. Hopefully this allows our defense to get more pressure. Has Houston been the most disappointing player thus far? 3 tackles, 0 sacks in 5 games? On the flip side, Young has been a beast with 5 sacks and 13 tackles. We really need Houston and Allen to step up. Marshall's injuries are clearly hindering the entire offense. In the end, it all comes down to turnovers for this team. We are 2-0 when we win the turnover battle, and 0-3 when we lose it.

Passing: Cutler needs 25 TD passes to pass Sid Luckman to have all the Bears all-time Passing records. During the Carolina game, Cutler (63rd) passed Bob Griese, Ken O'Brien, and Joe Theismann on the all-time yardage list. In the next few weeks he will pass Jeff Garcia, Jim Plunkett, and Jim Harbaugh. By the end of the season he will be close to 50th all-time in passing yards. Rodgers has 120 passing yards than Cutler. With 3 more passing TDs, Cutler will pass Kitna for 61st on the all-time list. He should break into the top 50 by the end of the year. With 38 more completions he will pass Ron Jaworksi for 54th on the list and will move into the top 50 in completions by the end of the year as well. Interestingly, Cutler has 107 more completions than Rodgers. Rushing: Forte is way behind Sweetness, and I don't think that rushing mark will ever be surpassed. However, Forte is only 15 yards from 7,000. He has a good shot at breaking the top 50 this year by passing Charlie Garner, George Rogers, Michael Turner and Terrell Davis. Forte doesn't score many rushing TDs, and is way down the list. Receiving: Marshall needs 9 yards to reach 3,000 as a Bear and tie Wendell Davis for 14th all-time. He should be near the Bears top 10 by the end of the season. With 38 yards he will pass Raymond Berry for 50th all-time. With 3 more TDs, he will have 31 and tie Johnny Morris and Curtis Conway for 5th all-time. With 62 TDs, Marshall is tied for 64th, and will in the top 40 by the end of the year. He is one reception from tying Dick Gordon on the team with 238 and 11th. He will hit the top 10 within the next game or two. Marshall is currently 40th all-time in receptions and will pass Donald Driver and Andre Rison with 13 more. By the end of the year, he will pass Michael Irvin, Charlie Joiner, Chad Johnson, Marshall Faulk, and James Lofton. Some huge names. Jeffery is already putting up huge numbers and if he can keep it up, he is more than likely going to be the Bears all-time leading WR. He is already 30th in yards, and can be close to top 20 by the end of the season. 37 more yards and he passes Muhammad and 51 to pass Berrian. Crazy to see Knox there, man he really had potential. Just think of the Bears throwing Marshall/Jeffery/Knox/Bennett/Forte out there every play - wow. Alshon is currently 37th in receptions and should also challenge the top 20 by the end of the year. Forte is already 10th all-time for Bears receiving yards and 2nd all-time in receptions (behind Sweetness). If he stays healthy and plays 2 more years, he may become the all-time leader in receptions (until Jeffery passes him). All-Purpose: Forte just surpassed 10,000 all-purpose yards, currently 131st all-time and is about to pass Earl Campbell. He should break into the top 100 of all time by the end of the year. Sacks: Jared Allen needs 4 sacks to tie Lawrence Taylor for 10th all-time. He also needs 1 to make it his first with the Bears. Kicking: Gould is basically 2nd behind Butler in every kicking category, but has a shot to surpass him. Right now Gould is 41st with 240 FGs and needs 26 to pass Butler on the all-time list (and only 4 for the team record). He will pass Chris Bahr for 40th with 2 more. Gould is 48th all-time in scoring and just passed Emmitt Smith; he needs 11 more pts to pass Mike Vanderjagt.

I was looking something else up, and this came to mind. When was the last season the Bears had 10 or more losses, and how that compared to other teams? It has been 10 years since our last really bad losing season. Only the Patriots, Steelers, and Chargers have had a longer run. 1. Patriots - 2000 (3-2) - Brady 2. Steelers - 2003 (3-2) - Big Ben 2t. Chargers - 2003 (4-1) - Rivers/Brees 4. Bears - 2004 (2-3) - Cutler/Orton/Grossman/Griese 4t. Giants - 2004 (3-2) - Manning 6. Saints - 2005 (2-3) - Brees 7. Ravens - 2007 (3-2) - Flacco 8. Packers - 2008 (3-2) - Rodgers Besides the Chargers who essentially replaced a great QB with another, we are the only team with such a long streak with more than 2 different QBs as leading passers (4).

Yeah, I am just saying the camera is not always on him the entire time. Who knows if he already looked at the tablet or photos? Then they cut to him when he is not. I have seen him looking at the tablet and photos before, but definitely not every time he comes to the sideline. That doesn't mean it is not happening. Maybe someone that has been to a game can confirm/deny if he does it, because the broadcast doesn't show everything. That is like saying everything on the internet is true.
-
I just don't understand how a defense can defend all our playmakers every play. It seems like they are getting pressure while still dropping 7 into coverage and no one is open. Then when we are on defense, QBs can pick the zone apart.
-
Yeah, if he is being reactive, that can only get you so far in this league. I really hope that defenses haven't figured him out because two straight games with halftime adjustments have killed us. Is Forte the problem? Back to back games with over 160 yards of total offense and 28 touches and we lose.
-
They also don't show when he tests his blood sugar. The broadcasts do a good job of cutting in and showing him how they want him to be seen. To me, we all just have to accept this is who he is. Good sometimes, great sometimes, horrible sometimes. After this week, he is currently 11th in QBR. He needs to be top 5 with this offense.

They flashed the stat during the game after the 2nd INT. The Bears basically never win when Cutler has 2 or more INTs, and have a great record when it is 1 or less. To me, regardless of all the other stats, this one is the strongest. After the 1st one, I didn't really care, but when the 2nd one was thrown, everyone knew it was over (even before Forte's fumble). The other number is the amount of points the other team scores. When they score 21 or less, we are 2-0, over 21, 0-3. When we score 27 or more, 2-0, when we score 24 or less, 0-3. So our sweet spot is 27-20 with Cutler throwing no more than 1 INT. The 2nd half, which has been a strength for Cutler, is now a weakness. The last 2 games, we have a total of 3 pts in the 2nd half. Besides for the 3 TD blitz in the 4th Quarter against SF, we only have 2 other TDs in the 2nd half all season. So in the other 9 quarters, excluding the SF 4th, we have 2 TDs, 4 FGs, and 4 INTs in 9 quarters.

A loss next week and it will be O-V-E-R.

I am almost done with Trestman too, I will give him to the bye to right the ship. 5-3 or he is done. Lack of adjustments, our offense doesn't have the opponent's defense on their heels. Hard to believe with all the star players we have on the team. How can you fail with all those toys. Maybe he wants a 12 player on the field. Playoffs or bust for me. I've seen enough, especially if we end up with a losing record. He only stays if we make the playoffs. Otherwise, bring in someone who is going to hold everyone accountable and get the most out of them. Can I get a 53 roster of Fullers?
-
Yeah, definitely something to consider. We could've signed a top flight Safety and at this point: Cutler This was the last game for me in regards to Cutler. He had his chance, all the receivers were healthy, he had the ball in his hands, at the end of the game, and he didn't make any plays. That throw to Holmes essentially defines his entire time with the Bears. There are at least 20 QBs, maybe more, that are doing more with less every week. It is not a new system and majority of the players should be clicking on all cylinders at Week 5. This season has 6-10 written all over it. We had 3 punts, 1 FG, 1 INT, and 2 fumbles in the 2nd half. That is sickening for this many "playmakers" on the team. Maybe Marshall should skip the Inside the NFL gig and figure out how to get open because he has sucked all year except for 1 game.
-
and another OLB, CB, Nickelback, and DE.
-
and Orton leads a game winning drive, woo hoo, he helped up by beating Detroit, at least a QB that was on the Bears beat them for us. Just as good as a win for us.
-
Yeah, after last week, we really needed a win here. Now we have to win out until the bye (3 straight against ATL, MIA, and NE). We gifted Carolina this game. The punt return, our missed FG was ultimately the difference in the game. Then turnover after turnover to end the game is inexcusable. No one is stepping up. Where was Bennett or Marshall? What sucks is we were discussing the same issues after the GB game. We looked great for the 1st half and then everything fell apart in the 2nd half again. We can't miss a FG and give them a TD to end the half AFTER giving up a return for a TD. The defense actually played well enough for us to win, but Carolina always had a short field. No excuse on Cutler, he had the ball in his hands to seal the game, when, tied, and when behind and the offense had 3 turnovers. The throw to Holmes was horribly overthrown (exactly where it could not be), and if he hit in stride he had a chance at a long gain. Forte fumbling? After all those yards you fumble there. Just go down, the extra yard was not worth it there.
-
Wtf lets leave Olsen open not even chipped.
-
Wow what the hell. The one thing we could not afford there was another turnover.
-
Yeah it is sickening and we are getting the short end of the stick every game.
-
What is crazy is that we really are about 2 defensive players from being really good again (a Safety and LB). We probably waited one year too long on Briggs. He looks old, slow, and fat. If we can get even one via Free Agency and then draft high again on Defense, we should be able to see a big jump on that side of the ball (which is sorely needed).
-
I would rather blitz and make the QB get the ball out of his hands at a predetermined time than allow him time to pick the zone apart.
-
Lacy was a Pro Bowler and Nelson leads the league in almost every single stat category. They are not as good as Marshall/Jeffery/Forte, but Nelson/Cobb/Lacy is pretty damn close. Bennett puts us over the top, but Rodgers is unfortunately much better than Cutler. Cutler is probably around #12 in the league, he has flashes that put him in the top 5 and dumb plays that put him below the top half of the league. The crazy part is it almost comes down to one or two plays a game that make the difference.
-
Yeah, I know, it wasn't official until yesterday.
