  1. I don't know if he is big enough or willing to make the switch.
  2. Now is the perfect time to trade SMC (to a 3-4 team) and salvage something for him.
  3. Ihenacho for sure; Angerer for the ST if he still can play; Manning because he can play decent S and also returns kicks. Our 4th WR is not going to see much action, so no issues for me there.
  4. 53 man roster. OLine a little thin for my liking. QB (3) Cutler, Jay QB Clausen, Jimmy QB Fales, David QB RB (5) Forte, Matt RB Carey, Ka'Deem RB Draughn, Shaun RB Fiammetta, Tony FB Perry, Senorise RB WR (6) Marshall, Brandon WR Jeffery, Alshon WR Holmes, Santonio WR Morgan, Josh WR Spurlock, Micheal WR/KR Wilson, Marquess WR TE (3) Mulligan, Matthew TE Bennett, Martellus TE Rosario, Dante TE OL (8) Mills, Jordan T Slauson, Matt G Long, Kyle G Leno, Charles OT Garza, Roberto C/G Bushrod, Jermon T De la Puente, Brian C Ola, Michael T DL (10) Ferguson, Ego DT Paea, Stephen DT Sutton, Will DT Ratliff, Jeremiah DT Allen, Jared DE Bass, David DE Houston, Lamarr DE Washington, Cornelius DE Scott, Trevor DE Young, Willie DE LB (6) Jones, Christian ILB Bostic, Jonathan LB Briggs, Lance LB Greene, Khaseem OLB McClellin, Shea LB Williams, D.J. LB CB (5) McManis, Sherrick CB Jennings, Tim CB Hurst, Demontre CB Fuller, Kyle CB Tillman, Charles CB S (4) Vereen, Brock SS Conte, Chris S McCray, Danny S Mundy, Ryan FS ST (3) Gould, Robbie K Hartson, Brandon LS O'Donnell, Pat P
  5. Britton was the only surprise for me. What does the 53 man roster look like now? Did we cut more than the required amount? I will have to check. Some available names: S Danieal Manning SS Major Wright OT Eric Winston LB Pat Angerer
  6. Nice one, but only if Orton played for Trestman. I just feel like they wanted to see another QB and we actually released Palmer early enough to do so. He obviously didn't pan out in his limited time there.
  7. Probably because they told him that he could potentially start, which he was not going to do in Dallas.

    KR and PR

Yeah, I mean during the season, I don't want any kickoffs taken out of the end zone.

    KR and PR

I don't know what our average starting position was last year, but I would take all the touchbacks I could get until we actually have someone who is capable of breaking a long one. The only way I return one is if they don't kick it into the end zone.

    KR and PR

Who is our KR/PR going into this season? Kind of odd seeing Hester and Weems on Atlanta's stat sheet.

MadLith, you can't just get one starter from a draft. Regardless of how good Alshon is/will be, that draft is pointing downward fast.
  12. D-Line should be much improved with a very solid rotation (which will be a strength late in games). Corners and Briggs are good, so everyone else just needs to play average and not be a liability. The soft zone also needs to hit the road.

To it is crazy to see who was drafted immediately following SMC: Kendall Wright Chandler Jones Brandon Weeden Riley Reiff David DeCastro Dont'a Hightower Whitney Mercilus Kevin Zeitler Nick Perry Harrison Smith A.J. Jenkins Doug Martin David Wilson That was the rest of the 1st Round. We essentially could've had any of those guys, Coby Fleener or Janoris Jenkins.

    More cuts

Bears cut Isaiah Frey, James Brown. SMC and Alshon the only 2 players left from the Class of 2012. Emery's first draft ends up pretty weak.

    Cutler seems concerned: http://espn.go.com/blog/chicago/bears/post...bills-not-ideal
  16. I don't see TE as a need right now with Bennett signed through 2016, as bad as our LB and S play has been so far, we have to get that right. I would go LB/S/CB with our top 3 picks. Even with Fuller, we still need to find a replacement for Tillman before Bennett.

2 more to go before 4pm tomorrow.

    NFL Game Rewind

For those looking to get all the Bears games but don't care if you can't watch them live. I just got NFL Game Rewind (works on computers/tablets/phones) and it is awesome. I am actually impressed and it is much better than the NFL Sunday Ticket stream I had last year. Some pretty neat features (Condensed games, Coaches film, archived games, slow mo, etc). Archived games go all the way back to 2009 and you can watch SB games as well. I just watched the GB game from last year. That Boykin TD is still BS in my opinion, that should've been blown dead. For those interested: www.nfl.com/gamerewind Promo code: REP15 I did the $39.99 plan, and got $6 off. Bears only plan is $10 less, but the $40 plan is sweet if you like football.

Wow, that would be unheard of today.

Does it really matter at that point? How good is any #3 QB going to be anyway. Season is basically over if your #2 goes down, so no point in wasting a roster spot on one.
  21. I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case with Trestman. Why show your hand early? Everyone is expecting a vanilla defense, so give them what they want and have them game plan for that.
  22. This is the conundrum, what can you actually take away from the preseason? There have been teams that have looked like Super Bowl contenders in the preseason, running up the score on everyone to end up 4-12 in the regular season. Even though everyone says Week #3 of the preseason is the most important, not every team that makes the playoffs plays well in the preseason or in Game 3. I took a look back at some preseason to regular season records. From 2009-2013 (last 5 years), SEA was the first SB winner who went undefeated during the preseason. The 3 winners before them went 2-2 in preseason, and NO was 3-1. For the SB losers, 2x were 3-1, 2x were 2-2, and one was 1-3 (IND). Now if I looked at teams that were 0-4 or 4-0 during the preseason, there was a pretty big constrast: 2013 - WAS 4-0 pre, 3-13 reg 2012 - PHI 4-0 pre, 4-12 reg 2011 - STL 4-0 pre, 2-14 reg 2010 - CHI 0-4 pre, 11-5 reg; SF 4-0 pre, 6-10 reg 2009 - MIA 4-0 pre, 7-9 reg; ARZ 0-4 pre, 10-6 reg Right now I don't know what to think. I would've like to have seen better production overall, but we actually had success against Sherman which is promising.
  23. https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2014/...-chicago-bears/ Pretty good read. Some interesting stats I was not aware of (Forte bad at pass blocking).
  24. That is crazy if true, an hour after inking a deal, he is out practicing. Nice to see that he has some explosiveness too.
