What is SMC supposed to do when he is already falling down? That flag was late too and the 2 nearest refs didn't throw a flag. 2 garbage calls against the Bears.
-
We need a 3rd down stop.
-
We can't have all these 3 and outs, it's getting ridiculous. Same as last game.
-
Rodgers has more INTs than Cutler!
-
For simuations, Madden prediction has the game as a tie and the Bears making the playoffs. Dr. Ratings has the Bears winning by 6 (81.3%): http://www.dratings.com/predictor/nfl-football-predictions/

Looks like we will be without Earl: https://twitter.com/Rich_Campbell/status/416643331309838336

T.J. Ward from Cleveland would be a good pickup at S.

Pro Bowls are now popularity contests. There should be some slots left for coaches to pick remaining deserving players. Alshon is 8th in receptions and 6th in yards, only Brown, Green, and A. Johnson were better statistically. D. Thomas was 9th and 7th, Dez was 14th and 10th. Megatron was 11th in receptions and Gordon was 13th in receptions (in less games). Also, 5 slots went to AFC teams and 3 to NFC teams, both Jeffery and Garcon were more deserving than Bryant or Thomas.

The only way we win is if Jay outplays Rodgers and if the Defense can stop Lacy. Otherwise we are going to get embarrassed and Rodgers is going to be a hero. My hope is a Bears blowout, but realistically, something like Bears 30-27 seems more likely.

Cap hit will average around 3.75, and he had a cap hit of 2.925, and an average of 2.583 for the life of the last contract. So he is up an average of 1.2 million a year for 4 years.

I will have to look this up, I wonder what our record is when and when we do not allow a 100-yard rusher.
-
Orton can still help us, man that trade can pay off twice in one day.

If we can't beat a QB that has been out for 7 weeks, at home, with a not-100% RB, we don't deserve to be in the playoffs. This game is a true test for the entire team. SF, NO, or ARZ (our most likely first round opponents) are not going to like playing in Chicago in early January. We have already shown multiple times this season that we can play in bad weather and cold. Also, a win against GB will be a huge confidence boost for the entire team.

I mention it, but based on their home performance over the last few years, SEA losing 2 straight at home is the least likely scenario out of all outcomes. For teams I would least like to face, SEA, SF and PHI are the 3 with the best running games, thus would be the toughest opponents with NO, DAL, and ARZ being the easiest opponents.
-
They said he has not practiced yet and will at least be questionable for Sunday.

I agree, basically McCown has a job if he wants one in Chicago. He can also probably get picked up by a team closer to his family if he so chooses.

Here we go, it will be interesting to see if he is "rusty" like Cutler was vs Cleveland and Philly. We are going to need Peppers, SMC, and the rest of the D-Line to come up big. I just hope we have different results compared to 2011. Same location, same QB's, hopefully a different result. In a way, Rodgers playing sets up for either an epic win or a disastrous loss. We can win and go in knowing we played the best Packer team they had, knock them out of the playoffs, we do it at home, and avenge the 2011 NFC Championship loss - or we lose, to a QB who has been out forever, to our division rival who wins the Division in our house, and knocks us out of the playoffs, all in one shot. Man it is going to be crazy. We really need the fans to come out and be loud. Rodgers timing has to be a little off and a lot of noise surely will make it worse.

Assume Bears, Seahawks (vs STL), Panthers (at ATL), and Saints (vs TB) win. That leaves 2 games to deciding the seeding for the NFC. SEA and CAR would finish 1-2. PHI at DAL SF at ARZ If SF and PHI win (favorites): NO at PHI and SF at CHI 4 If ARZ and DAL win (home teams/underdogs): SF at CHI 3 and NO at DAL If SF and DAL win: NO at CHI 3 and SF at DAL If ARZ and PHI win: SF at PHI and NO at CHI 4 So to me, the best matchup is NO in Chicago, and that would only happen in the last 2 scenarios. If all favorites win, we get SF. A crazy scenario is if SEA somehow loses (possible but unlikely), they could drop all the way to the 5th seed (SF wins division) and would play in Chicago if Philly wins. Otherwise, we would be 6th and play NO. Lastly, we can draw ARZ at home if ARZ and DAL win, and NO loses. That would be pretty crazy too.

It is definitely on Tucker. The players are put in position based on the scheme, and obviously Tucker has no clue except on how to apply A gap pressure. I can't remember SMC ever having contain, ever. He also gets pushed around in the run game like a rag doll. Bostic and Greene are literally running around the field with no clear responsibility. They are never in their gaps and I can't remember the last time they had a stuff. Conte seems to always run at a 90 degree angle to the sidelines and misses those long deep sidelines passes everytime. When I see those passes, I just wait for Conte to dive into the screen a second too late as the WR scores.

Quarterback: Jay Cutler - depends on how he performs vs GB and if we make the playoffs. Also, I think his price will determine if he comes back Jordan Palmer - probably depends on if Jay stays or goes Josh McCown - should be a keeper but everything will be based on Cutler Running Backs Tony Fiammetta - depends on price, would be good to keep him as he will have an extra year in the system vs a new FB Wide Receivers: Devin Hester - Gone, I can't see them bringing him back Tight Ends: Dante Rosario - Gone, very little production and limited to blocking Offensive Tackles: Jonathan Scott - Keep, very solid backup Guards: Matt Slauson - Keep, I would like to see some continuity on the line Eben Britton - Keep, 6th Olineman Centers: Roberto Garza - I would say he is gone, and we look to draft or bring in an FA Defensive Ends: Corey Wootton - Very underwhelming this year, so re-sign if the price is right Defensive Tackles: Nate Collins - Keep, we need this to be a strength next year Henry Melton - Keep, same Jay Radcliff - Keep, same Outside Linebackers James Anderson - Gone, looks slow, and is out of position as much as the rookies Inside Linebackers DJ Williams - I am mixed on him, and his return will be dependent on how they evaluate Bostic Blake Costanzo - Keep, good Special Teamer, and as bad as that unit has been, we need some quality on there Larry Grant - Gone Cornerbacks: Charles Tillman - Keep Tim Jennings - Keep Kelvin Hayden - Gone with CB drafted Zack Bowman - Keep Sherrick McManis - Gone Safeties: Major Wright - Keep, only serviceable Safety we have Anthony Walters - Gone Craig Steltz - Gone Kickers: Robbie Gould - Depends, this will be another one based on the price

I agree, a great bunch of people and die hard fans on this board. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!!!

The playoffs are a new season, anything can happen. We actually have as good of a shot as anyone once we get in. Some teams are over-rated, some have injuries left and right. Anything can happen. NE has no Gronk, Wilfork, an Mayo, Denver lost Miller, has no Clady, and Welker is still hurt. Seattle, though solid, is very over-rated IMO. Beyond Lynch their offense is average at best and the defense is down a few starters. SF almost lost to ATL. Carolina looks like the best team and even then, they lost Smith and Cam is either hot or cold. I actually like our chances if we get in. We will be underdogs and will have nothing to lose. The added revenue will also help the team stay near the cap.

I've been saying it all season but two people must go
adam replied to DABEARSDABOMB's topic in Bearstalk
I agree, all these guys and Michael Bush need to go. The team gets better if we replace these guys with league average players, that is how bad they have been. Our Safeties have almost single-handedly accounted for 2 losses this season. -
The only difference between Josh and Flynn is age. He was signed to a large contract due to potential and age. I agree though that McCown may out-price the Bears cap unless Cutler signs a team friendly deal. I understand the need to see Cutler, but is a potential playoff berth and possible playoff run (who knows) worth the risk? So we are led to believe that the team does not know what they have in Cutler already and need another high leverage game to (discount) double check his resume? To me that makes no sense. The team already has their mind made up and by the looks of it, Cutler is their guy.

lol, that's fine a long as Trestman believes he gives us the best chance to win.
