  1. That is huge, according to this analysis, the Briggs loss was the biggest factor in the run stopping ability of the defense. http://beargoggleson.com/2013/12/18/lance-...rs-run-defense/ We are really going to need him against the top rushing team in the league.
  2. The best part is that the season ultimately comes down to these last two games. If we are a playoff team, we need to show it and win against these on-the-cusp teams. Philly is also vying for a playoff spot and GB has a chance to sneak in if they win out. If we can't beat both of these teams, we don't deserve to make the playoffs. Going a little deeper, assuming CAR beats NO, and we win out, we would be the #3 seed and would play NO in Chicago (pay back). SF would play at PHI/DAL. If we could win that game, we would play in CAR and SF (assuming they win) would play in SEA. SF is basically a lock for #5 and the loser of the CAR/NO game will be #6.
  3. Yeah he was getting a 2nd opinion and obviously they said he needed surgery. About 6 months of recover, so if we want him, he will be ready in May.
  4. That was an odd game because based on the stats, we should've scored more. Minnesota is 4-3 at home and 0-6-1 away.
  5. FG from 49 yards on 2nd and 9.
  6. GB has been like that since Favre. Even having a serviceable defense makes you competitive.
  7. The look on the Lions faces when he made that was epic. So many expressions of disbelief.
  8. Thanks for posting. So if Cutler is better, he technically should have a better QBR than McCown in comparable games? If McCown is playing the easier schedule and is a lesser player, shouldn't the QBRs be almost identical? This begs the question, if McCown and Cutler both have a top 10 QBR in this offense, do we really need to pay a QB $15+ million a year to throw to these playmakers?
  9. Yes it is. We have never had a true QB controversy and the winner gets Marshall, Jeffery, Bennett, and Forte.
  10. I would love for that to happen. First things first, we need Baltimore to win. With the Sunday Night game in Philly, the day time temperature was going to be in the 50's with a chance of rain, and that will dip to the high 30's by game time. Minny dropped 48 on Philly without AP. If Cassell, Jennings, and Asiata can do that, we should be able to put up big numbers with Cutler, Marshall, Jeffery, Marshall, Forte, Marshal, Bennett, and Marshall.
  11. Cutler is just erratic and it is maddening. Everyone knows his ceiling, but he never cleans up the garbage and bad habits. He is like a better version of Rex Grossman. The offense never seems in sync or on the same sheet of music. I feel uncomfortable when Cutler plays. It is like I am waiting for the next INT. From the minute McCown came in, that was gone. I had confidence in him even though there was nothing to support it at that point (during WAS game). He played comfortable and the offense seemed to play like that. Now obviously if the defense showed up for a few games, the record would have been better, but McCown seemed to do exactly what the team asked him to do. Cutler digs holes, and then the defense bails him out and we scratch out a win and have more answers than questions going into an even harder game against Philly (who has a lot to play for).
  12. Yeah that sets up for a crazy Week 17 game that could decide the North. If Detroit loses, both us and GB win next week, it would be: CHI 9-6 vs GB 8-6-1 with DET 8-7 playing MIN. DET would be eliminated as the best they could finish is 9-7 and the winner of the CHI/GB game would be at worst 9-6-1. Talk about a defining game. Now obviously a lot needs to happen between tomorrow and next weekend (DET loses tomorrow, all 3 teams win next week). GB has won their last 2 games by a total of 2 pts. NFL is crazy.
  13. I hope it's just rust, but somehow McCown came in and looked comfortable from the first play in Washington - and only improved. Cutler had a couple of hard throws but that TD to Alshon was all Jeffery and could've easily been another INT. It really did not even look like the same offense, just very clunky.
  14. and 6-13 with 2 INTs when throwing to Marshall (with a pick 6).
  15. Ugly game, but all we needed was a win and a Detroit loss tomorrow. Briggs will hopefully be back next week against Philly (who looked like crap against MIN).
  16. Wow what a catch by Alshon, he is a machine. That dude is ridiculous, why is Jay not throwing to him, he cannot be stopped?
  17. Nice pick-6 by Bowman! Wow we needed that.
  18. Wow, a decent drive, but those were all on Marshall. He over threw him on the long one and threw behind him on the TD. He needs to go off in the 2nd half to save some face. 2 INTs with a Pick-6, the Bears defense is playing decent so we cannot afford any more turnovers.
  19. Take a knee, 1:29 is to much time left to throw an INT, too much time. Run it out with Forte.
  20. Please Trestman, all I want for Christmas is McCown starting in the 2nd half with a phantom Cutler injury preventing him from playing.
  21. I don't know, because he is doing his best to get us a better draft pick, reduce his next FA contract, and is basically eliminating any chance that he returns next year. There is zero confidence in him right now. The entire offense, which was humming without him, looks clunky and out of sync again.
  22. Also, on those that think the Cutler move was the right decision: Join the club.
  23. Wow, a drive starting on the 50 yard line and we are punting. This is pitiful with Cutler leading the charge.
  24. Almost another one, would've been a good throw if Marshall was 7'.
  25. Wait, we are almost in the INT Zone.
