  1. I don't think the positions on the line are set or in stone at this point.
  2. Good for him, those are some great events to support.
  3. Based on Trestman's past offenses, and Kromer's, there was very little production from the #2 TE, and with signing Bennett to a fairly large contract, it is hard for me to see a TE in the 1st or 2nd round. For a Nickelback, again, that is technically not a starter, is normally the 3rd best Corner on the team, and can go long stretches without playing. With that, the only justification I could see for taking a CB in the 1st is that it would give the Bears some payroll flexibility after this season (and maybe some leverage with Tillman/Jennings). Floyd seemed like BPA, so I could see that pick with a minor need for the DT rotation. So for me it came down to LB and OL, and I have to believe the Bears believed in Long more than Ogletree.
  4. I know, that is where Yahoo has him listed.
  5. To me, a slot WR or 2nd TE would end up being the 4th or 5th passing option on almost every play: (Marshall, Forte, M. Bennett, Jeffery). Also, at Nickelback, we have Hayden, McManis, and Bowman as options, so adding Trufant would give some nice flexibility after the season, but that was my last option. 2nd TE was not even considered for me.
  6. Just realized that I need to figure out who my keeper will be for the upcoming season. Decisions, decisions. Here are my options and draft results from last year. To me it looks like my options are SF for a 6th, Flacco for an 11th, or Amendola for a 16th. Hernandez was my Keeper last year. I am leaning towards Amendola as he seems to have the most value at that slot. 2. Adrian Peterson (Min - RB) 3. Victor Cruz (NYG - WR) 4. Michael Turner (Atl - RB) 5. Reggie Bush (Det - RB) 6. Dwayne Bowe (KC - WR) 7. San Francisco (SF - DEF) 8. Pierre Garcon (Was - WR) 9. Shonn Greene (Ten - RB) 10. Nate Washington (Ten - WR) 11. Peyton Hillis (KC - RB) 12. Joe Flacco (Bal - QB) 13. Stephen Gostkowski (NE - K) 14. Jared Cook (StL - TE) 15. New England (NE - DEF) 16. Aaron Hernandez (NE - TE) *K* 17. Danny Amendola (NE - WR)
  7. The minicamps are no-contact. Alshon looks to be in better shape, so I would expect some good comments about him. The O-Line competition is probably going to be the highlight of the OTA's. Long should be really impressive. All rookies are allowed to show up to minicamp, even if they haven't signed yet. I don't know exactly how this works, but some teams already held their minicamps and had rookies there that were unsigned. There will be a few standouts, especially since it is no contact. The UDFA's really have to up their game to make the roster.
  8. The way I read it was they were confident Ogletree would be there at 22, but after trading back to 27 or 30, their fallback was Jones, then Warford. Otherwise, pointing out that they were going to trade back would be irrelevant. They could just have said the Rams were targeting Ogletree at 22, with Jones and Warford as their next picks in that slot. Either way it shows there was interest in OL in the 20's and Long would not have made it out of the 1st.
  9. I thought they were talking about #30 where they drafted Ogletree? That would've been one slot ahead of Dallas who took a C.
  10. For me I think it comes down to Long/Bostic vs Ogletree/Warford vs Trufant/Warford vs Floyd/Warford The first two seem to fill the biggest needs, and the last two do not address LB. Floyd seems to be the biggest luxury pick, though he may have been BPA.
  11. Yeah, I am just saying it is something, and it can go two ways, escalate where the player shows he has no self control, or he realizes what he can lose, and turns it around.
  12. Yeah but the last time I checked smoking weed is illegal, so a guy risking his entire career and well being over doing something illegal just validates who that person really is.
  13. That was not Jay Cutler. I understand your point, I don't think he is a moron, but the comments about those things affecting his on field performance is a red flag.
  14. These are two alarming quotes: What was adversely affecting his play besides his skill and competency? Was he drunk or high, hung over when he played? Again, so now that he is not drunk, he is better on the field? The only saving grace is that Trestman is changing the team's mindset, and if Webb can see and understand that in such a short time, that is a very positive sign.
  15. What am I thinking, the best offseason acquisition is the subtraction of Kellen Davis.
  16. Who's feeing Jay, they have bigger forearms than him?

I would say most of the injuries were because you did not have any protective gear on. If the NFL played without helmets and pads, there would be a player hurt on every play. That is not the same case for Rugby. If they threw on some helmet and pads, you would rarely see an injury in Rugby.
  18. Parker, We are not over the cap. We have $3.4 million for the rookie pool.

    OLine/2013

I would say that the type of offense they play in does affect how good someone may actually perform. Webb would probably be a little better playing in the NO offense and Bushrod a little worse playing in CHI offense (of last year). However, with Trestman at the helm, I think both of them have the potential to be better this year.
  20. There are a bunch actually, I can see a group of guys fitting in this category, but I had to narrow it down, Bushrod, Bennett, and Long all seem to be the ones with the biggest potential because who they are replacing.

More great news, the last two are Long and Bostic which will hopefully sign by the weekend.
  23. Jay needs to wear a "Goodell" headband.

Technically yes, but it comes in the form of a signing bonus which I believe is one of the only negotiable items in a rookie contract. Once drafted they don't have as much leverage anymore, that is why the draft position is more important now than it was under the old CBA. Cliff Stein will eventually start signing players before they are even drafted, he is that good.
