I don't think there is too much to this. Callahan changed the game plan days before the Super Bowl and it didn't work. Trestman is doing the smart thing and not getting involved. If Brown believed Trestman was involved, I would think that would've been brought up already.

What talent does Kellen Davis possess?
-
From PFF: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2013/...ight-ends-yprr/ Kellen Davis was the 2nd to last in YPRR out of 52 qualifying TE's. Olsen was 5th best, sigh. Davis needs to be cut, and TE needs to be a priority along with OL in FA and the draft. Not that you didn't know this, just more confirmation of how bad Davis was/is.
-
I believe it would cost more to cut Bush than to keep him this year, or at least close to it; he is not being cut this year.

Aldon Smith had 19.5 sacks but 5.5 in one game (against us Eek), but interesting enough did not have any in his last 3 regular season games or the last 2 playoff games. I just can't see the Bears investing more money in the DL with Peppers, McClellin, and Melton (assuming he is re-signed) on the books. If there was a huge run on OL, then someone would fall to us like a top notch LB. If not, then trading down and acquiring more picks seems to be the way to go.

Dude, don't feel like you have to justify yourself. I would rather get something from you that could be right than the half-ass stuff from the interwebs.
-
What makes you say that? Just because there is no consensus #1 at the skill positions? Actually, there is better chance that more defensive players go in the first round than offensive players (including OLine).
-
Thanks Brian, but please stop putting out good, accurate information too early.
-
Davis was targeted 78 times in the last 2 years and only caught 37 passes. That is 47%, sad.
-
not debate, supporting your argument. All 4 teams with some very good TE's, and even the Divisional games has some as well. Seems to be the biggest trend.
-
Terra, Of all the team comparisons, the TE position may be the best for all 4 of those teams. SF and BAL were better defensively, NE and ATL aired it out. The constant among all those teams was their top flight TE's. Here was the Divisional Week TE's. If you think about it, the teams that were eliminated had Dreesen, Tamme, Miller, Finley, and Daniels - not a bad group either. DEN - Dreesen/Tamme 9-90 BAL - Pitta/Dickson 8-84 SEA - Miller 8-142-1 ATL - Gonzalez/Coffman 7-67 SF - Davis 1-44 GB - Finley 4-35 HOU - Daniels 9-81 NE - Hernandez 6-85

ok thx, i made the change. The list is essentially all the players that fall anywhere between the 10th and 60th pick. Based on our needs, our first 2 picks should come from this group unless we go for another position like DL, WR, RB, or CB. Getting Warmack and Fluker or Jones would be pretty cool. They would already know each other, and we would have 40% of the Alabama line. I just don't know about getting Jones and Fluker since both have injury concerns.
-
With Lewan and Matthews staying in school, it is hard to see Fisher or Warmack making it to 20, but I guess you never know. Hopefully there is a run on QB or RB where guys start falling to us. To me it is hard to pick one guy, but based on our slots, there is a good chance we will get 2 guys from this list: Fisher, OT, Central Michigan Warmack, G, Alabama Cooper, G/C, North Carolina Johnson, OT, Oklahoma Ogletree, ILB, Georgia Te'o, ILB, Norte Dame Minter, ILB, LSU Ertz, TE, Stanford Eifert, TE, Norte Dame Fluker, OT, Alabama Aboushi, OT, Virginia Jones, G/C/OT, Alabama Long, G, Oregon Thomas, G, Tennessee

It has been determined; the Bucs already traded it to the Patriots: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap100000008...-for-draft-pick This is the best site I've found for determining draft picks: http://www.prosportstransactions.com/footb.../Years/2013.htm

True, but there is a difference between good and Pro-Bowl caliber. Now if it was someone like Clady or Bushrod, then yeah 9 easy, but not everyone gets that type of money.
-
I just don't think they will spend that much on a FA OL, more like $5-6.

Wait, his arms are bigger than my waist?

Why is it better? He is supposed to be the model of excellence and "above that", yet when the GOAT does it, its ok, because he is Tom Brady. When Cutler does something like that, he is chastised by the media. This loss was solely on Tom Brady. Yep the Bears are out with the Pats and every other team that lost in the playoffs. The only difference is the Bears get a better draft pick. and if you think Brady is GOAT, how could a shitty QB come in on the same team and put up a 11-5 record, that Brady couldn't even do when he returned the next season (10-6). If he was that important to the Belicheck machine, then they would've dropped off like the Colts did without Manning. Brady has lucked into the best timing ever seen by a QB. He is a great QB, but not the best of all time. He has taken advantage of being part of a great system that can plug and play with almost any player.

Pitta and Boldin had huge games.
-
That would be a huge loss. He is still learning, and improving, and should be a fixture on the line for the next decade.
-
Damn Brian, are you a Custodial Engineer? You first would drink Windex if the Bears sign Mike Wallace, and now you are going to drink bowl cleaner, lol. I highly doubt Emery or Trestman would waste valuable cap space, roster spot, and a draft choice on either of those guys. We have too many other needs than a gimmicky 2nd/3rd string QB. Like Balta alluded to, the most important thing for a QB is consistency, if Cutler is coming out for even a couple of plays a game, the offense loses its rhythm, timing, and consistency. It starts with the scheme, extends to the personnel (ie Oline), and ends on the field, play by play.
-
Brady was 67-0 when leading at halftime, wow, that is insane. He is now 67-1.
-
Ray Lewis making it back in his final game would be pretty cool too. Just glad to see Atlanta out of it, I thought they were over-rated all year.
-
Yeah, I'll pass on the DT in the 2nd round.
-
Watching ATL at SF. It seems like on every play, the receiver who catches the ball is WIDE open. Where are the defenses this post season?
