Bears (3-4) at Patriots (5-2), Sun. 12:00 CST
Most odds makers have us as 7 point underdogs. What a perfect time to totally redeem ourselves. I think people are giving NE too much credit, they have wins against Minnesota, Oakland, Cincy, Buffalo, and the Jets. None of those wins were really impressive, and they barely beat OAK and NYJ. They lost to MIA and KC. They won't have their leading rusher (Ridley) and their leader in sacks (Jones). Controlling Gronk seems to be the key. On defense, they are #1 against the pass, only allowing 209 per game, but they are near the bottom against the run. This is going to be an epic win and get us back into things going into the bye before we slice some cheeseheads in Week 10. Bears 31 - Super Bowl XX Losers 20

We are currently projected to finish with a 7-9 record and the 10th draft pick.

Jay Cutler is the highest paid player in the NFL, he should at least play up to half of that salary. He has dipped to a top 20 QB. The Bears are paying him like a top 5 QB, he needs to start earning it, putting the team on his back and willing them to victory. Another loss and the wheels are coming off this team. 1-3 in our last 4 with 2 at home.

Trestman Blames Cutler for Lack of Runs
To me, they are going to take the keys away and give him only 1 or 2 options at the line. I believe the almost every INT has come on an audible, which there was a "miscommunication". Also, like I said in another thread, we seem to have become very predictable in our formations, and Cutler is back to starring down receivers: If this is the case, shame on Trestman and Kromer. This is one of these easiest things to do. Show the same formation and change the routes, the motion, and the progression. This is literally football 101. We need to start putting some of the blame on Kromer as well.

Draft question
He has 2 sacks, 16 tackles, and 6 stuffs for the Rams in 7 games. Not bad. Ferguson has 5 tackles, 2 sacks, and 3 passes defended in 7 games.

If we lose to NE, we will be 3-5 heading into the bye, and a loss in GB would put us at 3-6 with 7 to play and 4 back of both DET and GB, literally impossible even if we won 7 straight.

You are correct, but there can always be one of those phantom injuries, like a groin.

We now have to go 7-2 in our last 9 just to win 10 games (which doesn't even guarantee a playoff spot). We would literally have to rattle off 4-5 straight wins to have a realistic shot. We have to win this week and tie things up with GB in 3 weeks to have a chance - and hope other teams starting losing.

You really think we will beat NE in NE or GB in GB? Both teams on long rest? We will be lucky to not lose by double digits. I can't see us not being 3-6 after those two. We will probably only beat MIN twice and TB the rest of the year and end 6-10 and drafting 8th-10th.

This entire team needs a shake-up. The Bears offense is way too predictable. All of our screens are so easy to read now, and I think teams are now onto how to control us. We continually only have 5-6 players catching passes (which is low). It is always the big 4 + one to Rosario (who fumbles) or Holmes. We really need a legit 3rd WR. Our defense cannot stop anyone. Tannehill literally had a perfect QB rating for most of the game, and even with us getting a few sacks, he torched us with his runs. Our Special Teams have to be the worst in team history (at least in terms of returns and field position). If we get a positive return, there is always a holding penalty. If not, we don't get past the 20 or it is a fair catch.

Also, then you have to watch Orton and Stafford both lead game winning drives while Rodgers torches the same team we couldn't beat two weeks ago.

Now what? Going into NE (after they get a long week) = loss, then after the bye we get GB (in GB), DET twice, DAL, and NO. Those will all be losses. So at most we will go 6-10 and beat MIN twice and TB. Guess how many times this juggernaut offense has scored more than 28? Zero. That sums up our season.

What an absolute pitiful performance by a crappy team. 14 freaking points and 3 turnovers by a Trestman offense? Defense allows 400 yards and 24 first downs. Offense didn't help the defense, but can we make some plays? Houston and Allen for the most part have been ghosts, and now Young was not keeping contain.

I agree about him not being a Head Coach, that is becoming clearer everyday. However, if we go 5-11 or 6-10 and are last in the division? We've regressed on all phases even though the talent is there.

Everyone was saying Trestman is going to get a 3rd year, but we have regressed on offense to the point that all we really do is check down to Forte.

Great time for another turnover.

Just freaking great. What is the point anymore? Remember our record when we lose the turnover battle? When Cutler has more than 1 turnover? We have never won.
-

Absolutely, unless we go 8-1 in our last 9, which with this team, we will be lucky to go 8-8.

Wow, nice for us to show up on that 4th down, QB runs right past SMC.

Because SMC has been so good for the Dolphins?

Great a sure-fire INT hits Williams in the head.
