congrats, well deserved.

To me the pick was lazy to begin with. Williams was picked 14th and Clady went 12th. There was such a drop off from Clady that no OL was worth the 14th pick that year. So this is not surprising at all. He missed all those games after surgery, and was never the same player again. I am just glad this is his last year, and would not be surprised if this was his last year with the Bears. For draft picks, I would love to see BPA out of OL, LB, and CB in the first few rounds in the next 2 drafts. Looking at ages, here are the players currently 30 or older, with LB, OL, and DL having 2 players each: Campbell - 30 Garza - 33 Spencer - 30 Idonije - 31 Peppers - 32 Briggs - 31 Urlacher - 34 Tillman - 31 Gould - 30 Mannelly - 37

Actually I saw a stat that said he did not let up a TD reception all of last year. He got benched, but was actually very solid all year. He had the 2nd best CB performance in 2011: https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/...mances-of-2011/ 17th Best rated CB in 2011 (16th in 2010): https://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/...-chicago-bears/

I used to hate Cowherd as he always seemed like a Bears hater, but for the last few years he has come around on the Bears and Cutler. This morning he was raving about the Bears and said they were his preseason pick for the NFC. He also likes Cutler and thinks that the incident with Tice was nonsense. Glad to see some of the talking heads on our side for once and bashing the rest of the media. I can't believe how many outlets showed Cutler walking away from Tice as a highlight in the game. One of the best parts of the show was when he brought Greg Jennings on asking about QB/WR trust. He also asked if he saw the game and Jennings said no. Cowherd then said the Bears looked good, really good. He then said it was one of the best performances he has seen. Jennings replied with a wow, really, then said he was glad that they already beat the Bears. Can't wait to see this team with Forte and Urlacher at or near 100%.

Jennings is a Pro Bowler for sure. He was rarely targeted all game.
-
Any QB can pick defenses apart with good protection. Cutler escaped some pressure and made some plays on his own. He had the 3rd highest passer rating of his career against one of the better Passing Defenses in the league.
-
Yeah, I can see it now "Cutler continues to assault Webb with hit to the head"
-
Well there is some correlation between weight and strength. He needs to put on some muscle.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...59677--nfl.html Really? No matter how good Cutler plays, they will always find something.
-
They were butchering the game all night with names.
-
It almost seems like he is lighter than what is listed because he gets pushed back really easy by the O-Line.
-
Yeah, great dominate performance. Seems like we have been waiting almost a year for another game like this. National TV, in Big D, and you really can't ask for a better performance by the team overall.
-
Great game by the Bears. Besides for the last drive of the first half by Dallas, our Defense was on fire. Can't complain about Cutler and the O-Line today, Cutler with no picks and a 140.1 Passer Rating. Cutler silences critics for one week. Urlacher still not at 100%. Hopefully he will be there after the Bye. 3-1 after 4, I will take it.

and the Pack are 1-2. The difference to me from watching Rodgers vs Cutler is that Jay will try to make a throw under duress where Rodgers takes the sack. At least from looking back at the Seattle game in the first half, a bunch of sacks were after his initial drop back, not necessary immediate pressure like what Jay experiences almost all the time. Jay can't even plant his back foot and he is already under pressure. Check out this video of the 8 sacks: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BokBc7mXWEM #1 - 3-man rush, Bulaga gets beat, Irvin with the sack. Rodgers was able to make his initial drop, then got sacked when he stepped up. #2 - Rodgers sacks himself #3 - Rodgers gets his full drop back and when he goes to step up Irvin is there and for some reason Rodgers runs right back into him? #4 - On what appears to be a planned roll-out and screen Rodgers gets destroyed, bad blocking scheme for the play called #5 - Rodgers gets full drop back and the pocket collapses from the inside and he is too late to react (pocket awareness?) #6 - On a play action roll out, it looks like he is going deep, then eats the ball and a sack, all on him for that one. #7 - Gets full drop back and right when he steps up Clemons is in his face - again how does he not see the pressure in his face? #8 - Steps up to avoid pressure, then just takes the sack. Completely on him, seems indecisive and a little shell shocked.

Some interesting numbers: 16-1: Bears record when they lead after the first quarter since 2010. 7-2: Lovie Smith’s record on Monday Night Football with the Bears, averaging 26.4 points per game. Whoever comes out with the win will be 3-1 and sitting in a nice position at the quarter point of the season. For the Bears, they could then have a great shot at going 4-1 into the Bye after playing JAX next week.
-
What? Going off the last two years with the Bears (2010 and 2011) he was sacked 75 times and threw 23 picks (and 36 TDs). That is more indicative of what we can expect, not one random year on the Broncos from 2008.
-
I am going to go the other route and say Bears win 20-16 with both teams playing better.
-
I am just surprised at how bad Dallas' offense has been. League low in scoring. It will just depend on which teams show up. We each had one good game, one bad game, and one mediocre game. It will be interesting to see which team finds their groove. To me that will decide the game. Even if both teams return to form, I believe the Bears have the edge.

It is really easy to point out these things after they happen. Where are all the plays where he escapes when there was no way out, or where he gets the ball to a receiver in the perfect spot? You can't pick your spots to make your point stronger. Did Cutler make mistakes that were his fault, absolutely. Would he have made those mistakes if other players were doing their job? Would he have made those mistakes if there was a better game plan in place?
-
I just think you find this in just about any QB under constant pressure.
-
I agree with most of that, however, it is much easier to see something like that on a still photo vs real-time speed.
-
Jennings could've just batted the ball down and none of this would've happened. Isn't that what they are taught to do?

Waiting for Deadspin article:

To me it seemed like SEA changed their defensive scheme in the 2nd half, which continued to confuse GB. I just get a kick out of Rodgers having 16 sacks in 3 games. He is on pace for 85 sacks, lol.
-
Yeah, he leads the league in INTs and is playing almost perfect in the Cover-2. There was an interesting note on NFL Network (Yay, I finally have it with Time Warner), that he has not let up a TD catch since 2010.
