I've watched the play a few more times this morning, and it is clearly an INT. However, because the ruling on the field was TD, the ref needed indisputable evidence that it was an INT, and that is hard to determine outright. Jennings had "more" possession than Tate, but again those are judgment calls. I believe if they were real refs, it would've been an INT. Also, looking back at some other calls, GB got a favorable PI call on their drive that lead to their TD, so SEA would've only needed a FG to win on those last 2 drives. So overall, GB got what they deserved. They got one call for them and one against them that lead to TD's. On the last play of the game, it should've been ruled an INT.

Marshall responds well to Sapp calling him a "retard"...
adam replied to madlithuanian's topic in Bearstalk
That is awesome. I've always hated Sapp, great job being the bigger man Brandon. -
Green Bay loses on one of the worst calls you will ever see. It was clearly Offensive Pass interference, then a clear interception, and somehow the refs said it was a TD, and the call stood, wow!!! Green Bay 1-2. Even with 8 sacks against, Rodgers doesn't throw a single pick though.

Rookie DE/DL/OLB Sack Leaders 1. McClellin 1.5 2. Jones 1.0 2. Cox 1.0 4. Irvin 0.5 5. Coples, Ingram, Mercilus, Poe, and Brockers have yet to record a sack. These were all possible picks from the 1st round this year.

I would say another thing to consider is that this is another new system that everyone has to get used to. Sometimes it happens quick while other times it takes a few weeks. I will withhold judgement until the Bye Week. I would just like to see some progress each week. What amazes me is that he is 31st in the league in Passer Rating (58.6) only Tannehill at 58.3 is lower. He is tied for the lead in INTs with 6, and is 29th in Completion%. Those are ridiculously low numbers for a "franchise QB" considering only one game had bad pressure.

Jennings has been a borderline DPOY Candidate the way he has played in the first 3 games. The entire Defensive unit is playing at a really high level. Our Defensive Line alone has more combined sacks than any other team's total.

However, they are going to be just good enough to keep everyone's job, say 9-7.

One interesting thing on this topic. Hester has been the only one to make a return in 2 game for the Bears. I would've thought Weems would see some action so Hester could play WR, but it looks like Jeffery and Bennett are taking his targets. I can't even see paying him $5 mil if he is going to be exclusively a Returner and 4th/5th WR, but like Madlith said, it does depend on how he does this year. If he runs 2-3 back, keeps a decent return average, and adds 25-30 receptions, that would be pretty good production.

For the sack debate, that is a not a very good way to look at it. Now if you take Cutler's time on the Bears only, he is at an 8% sack rate (12.7% this year) which is higher than almost all of the good QB's on that list minus Big Ben and Vick. Those two QBs are very unique. Big Ben is so huge, he will stay in the pocket longer than probably any other QB in the league, so his sack rate is always going to be high. For Vick, his rate is actually around 6% with Philly and his number is only that high because of his ATL days when he was a run first QB. That puts Cutler near the bottom for his caliber. Cutler - 3 years in Denver, 51 sacks, 2010 with Bears, 52 sacks Smith has always backed his QB's, even Grossman, so I wouldn't expect anything different.
-
What the article fails to mention is that Lovie already talked to Cutler about his actions as well. They are two separate incidents, even though they are related. You can tell the media looks for anything Cutler related to blow out of proportion. It's drama, controversy, etc, they eat it up.

I still hate the picture when he got traded to us. He looks so enthused.

Every game is a must win at this point because you don't want to get into a deep hole early. I expect a complete rebound and a decisive win at home. I would say the next 4-5 weeks are extremely important because GB plays 4 of their next 5 on the road, and their one home game is against NO on a short week. They play at SEA, IND, HOU, and STL. That is pretty tough schedule. They could easily split those 4, and NO is always dangerous. I project them to be 5-3 after 8 games. The Bears have an extremely favorable schedule and only one game vs a legit powerhouse in the foreseeable future (HOU Week 10). At Dallas is always tough, but it depends on which Dallas team shows up (and which CHI O-Line). The Bye early actually helps us get healthy and ready for Detroit on Monday Night. We get Detroit out of the Bye, and they get to come to Chicago after going to Philly (Ouch!). Another tough game will be Carolina, but I like the game at home. Bears will be 6-2 after 8 games. For Detroit, their Bye is Week 5, and I can see them at 3-1 going into the Bye, but could easily be 3-4 3 weeks later after playing @PHI, @CHI, and then SEA. Detroit 4-4 after 8 games. Minnesota doesn't get much of a break. They play SF, then @DET, home vs TEN, then @WAS, then back home vs ARZ, then TB on a Thursday night. Besides TEN, those are all tough games, especially for Minnesota. I will say 3-5 after 8 games.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/blog/eye-on-f...o-see-more-fire Cutler speaks, and it is essentially what others were saying.

Do we miss an extra point? We are going to allow 38 pts after SF's Defense allowed 14? That is a huge jump. I would like to think we have a comparable defense. I'm thinking something in the 20's allowed. Also, our offense is a lot better and GB's defense is not very good, they allowed 30 against SF so your pts for seems spot on. I am thinking: Bears 34-24 w/GB getting a late TD. Bears 27-14 at half.
-
The Packers will be in last place!
-
Wow, what a throw and catch!!!!!! Cutler threw that over 60 yards with touch, LMAO!
-
STL driving, in scoring position, JAX now up against Minny.
-
Should've had a TD there, but any pts is better than none I guess.
-
I'm glad Forte got the TD there, Bush is going to have 30 by the end of the season.
-
Phantom call against Jennings really took the life out of the defense. They looked like crap after that.
-
O-Line looking really good.
-
Jennings just snatched that out of the air full extension, wow........
-
That's more like it. I was getting worried after the 1-11 start by Cutler. Forte's catch was sick.
-
Only 9.5 favorites for Week 1, those are pretty good betting odds in favor of the Bears. I see them winning by at least 10. Hard to see the game being closer than that. I am figuring at least 31 on offense, and I can't see the Colts breaking 20 unless there are some late garbage points. What do you think? I say Bears 34-17.

Greene OT James Brown OT Corey Brandon DT Jordan Miller DE Chauncey Davis DE Aston Whiteside LB Xavier Adibi LB Jabara Williams CB Isaiah Frey CB Greg McCoy CB Cornelius Brown CB Jonathan Wilhite S Mark Legree I was a little surprised by some of the CB's cut, and McCown could've went either way.
