Emery bio: Video with Emery: http://www.kcchiefs.com/media-center/video...4f-cfd6fb7051e7 Some of the notable draft picks of the teams he scouted for: Atlanta Drafts 2004 - DeAngelo Hall, Michael Jenkins, Matt Schaub 2005 - Roddy White 2008 - Matt Ryan 2010 KC Draft - Eric Berry, Dexter McCluster, Javier Arenas, Tony Moeaki, Kendrick Lewis I really like the 2010 draft. A lot of production from those guys.

https://twitter.com/#!/caplannfl/status...489335177748480 Emery is currently with KC, so maybe that would give us the inside track on someone like Dwayne Bowe?
-
Mark Anderson had 10 sacks and is a UFA.

It would be borderline comical, and maybe it could lead to a HC change for us as well. I was also thinking, even though the Bears can't block the interview, Tice can turn down the job/interview. It will be interesting if he takes them up on the offer. Wouldn't that sort of say he is not completely devoted to the team if he interviews, but does not get the job? I am saying this only because he accepted the OC position already. I wouldn't say this if he was already a Coordinator and this was presented to him.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,3323683.story Now this would be interesting if he bolted for Oakland after accepting the OC job.
-
Yes, of any of the coaches, he was the one I would miss the most if he left, this is great news.

This seems to be a pretty decent year for free agency, and if we can get 3-4 of this group, I would be very happy: Top Tier Wideout (Free Agent) Dwayne Bowe (81-1159, 5TD) Steve Johnson (76-1004, 7TD) Vincent Jackson (60-1106, 9TD) or trade for Brandon Marshall (81-1214, 6TD) 2nd Tier Wideout (Free Agent) Robert Meachem (40-620, 6TD Jerome Simpson (50-725, 4TD) Mario Manningham (39-523, 4TD) Top Tier Tight End Jermichael Finley (probably franchised by GB) Fred Davis (59-796, 3TD) via Free Agency 2nd Tier Tight End Jacob Tamme - IND Joel Dreesen - HOU Scott Chandler - BUF OL Chris Myers - Hou Nick Hardwick - SD Evan Mathis - PHI Carl Nicks - NO Jake Scott - TEN CB Cortland Finnegan - TEN (1 INT, 75 tackles) Lardarius Webb - BAL (5 INT, 67 tackles) DL Campbell Calais - ARZ (72 tackles, 8 sacks, 1 INT) Jermey Mincey - JAX (57 tackles, 8 sacks, 1 INT) Sione Pouha - NYJ (58 tackles, 1 sack, 1 safety) OLB Erin Henderson - MIN (70 tackles, 1.5 sacks) Jarret Johnson - BAL (56 tackles, 2.5 sacks) Manny Lawson - CIN (52 tackles, 1.5 sacks) Anthony Spencer - DAL (66 tackles, 6.0 sacks) Solid Backup QB Chad Henne Derek Anderson David Carr Brady Quinn JP Losman Kyle Orton I used the following tracker and sorted by most valuable by position: http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2012/...-agent-tracker/ Something like Dwayne Bowe, Joel Dreesen, Carl Nicks, and Lardarius Webb while drafting OL, WR, DB, LB, DL.

More so for their play style. I am sick of the 5,000 yard passing teams, it reminds me of the USFL. I would rather see SF win over the other remaining teams.
-
Both NO and GB were over-rated. Glad to see them both out. I would like to see SF vs NE so SF can clobber NE and Brady.
-
It says for the GM position, and this is that Jimmy Raye's son.
-
http://twitter.com/BradBiggs The KC one is questionable.
-
I agree that Enderle should've saw some playing time that last game, if for nothing more than his confidence. However, making any evaluation in one game can be kind of shaky. Take Hanie for example, he looked great vs GB in the playoffs coming in under those conditions, yet looked like a completely different QB this season.

I get a kick out of the responses below the article: I know there are only so many ways to measure performance for GM's and Player Director, etc, but more times than not the draft "prospect" doesn't work out. Also, it was not like Seattle had great first picks from 2005-2009. They had the 26th, 31st, 55th, 28th, and 4th picks during that window. For the 4th pick, they went with Aaron Curry who was a stud in college and was supposed to be the best player in the draft. Seattle got a steal at #4. He just didn't pan out. At this point anyone with some GM experience will probably do a better job than JA. Also, if we do stay in house with Ruskell, it definitely makes it easier to clean house with Lovie included after next season if it doesn't work out.
-
5 straight seasons with 1,000 yards, yes please. The Bears have not had one in a decade (2002 Booker).
-
I'll pass on the 5'10" CB at #19. We could probably trade down to #25 and still get him. I believe CB is a need, but not higher than OL or WR. Also, do we need to look for a pass catching TE?
-
From the other thread, Lovie has had 28 ex-Assistants. At some point you have to look in the mirror.
-
I would say the big market and revenue make the Bears an appealing target. Also, if you are following JA, you are going to look like a savior. It will be a relative comparison vs an absolute one. That is a nice position to be in. Also, this team is only a few pieces from being a serious contender. I just don't see that in STL or IND (with Manning or Luck).
-
He should've also noted that we ended the last two years with our starting QB injured.
-
I thought this was a pretty interesting fact from the article: "Biggs points out that Lovie Smith now has 28 ex-assistant coaches that have worked with him in Chicago." 28 ex-assistants? How is he still the HC? At some point he has to be held accountable.
-
1. Yeah, but even a non-football guy knew this was the right decision. The draft day failures alone make this a legitimate firing. 2. I am assuming Lovie has one more year, and if we don't get to the playoffs, he will be gone. 3. As long as it isn't "one of Lovie's guys" 4. That is possible, but so is Bates and Billick (and I wouldn't mind either of them as HC down the road) 5. Can't argue with that, I believe Tice still needs to prove he can manage an O-Line 6. Just media fluff, the numbers don't lie 7. Not necessarily. He can re-learn one where he excelled. It is like picking up an old instrument that you haven't played in awhile. You will be rusty, but will pick it up much quicker. 8. I believe a change will suite what we have (and may get) because you can adjust the playbook to take advantage of any possible strengths. Also, more players will be familiar with a normal offense compared to Martzfense. 9. The new GM's first order may be to get him a new deal, which will be good for all parties. 10. I agree, I hate the Cover/Tampa-2 or any variation. Just like Martz' offense, it is about 5 years out of date. That won't change unless Lovie is gone. That sucks too because it would've been nice to see Urlacher rushing the QB and getting sacks vs sprinting back to cover the huge hole over the middle.
-
I am glad he is gone, but it would nice to have Olsen back now with a new Offense coming in.
-
Wow, this is great news. No Jerry, No Martz, addition by subtraction. The organization just improved.
-
Jay, You move up one position per round until you get to the first pick of your record, then you go to the back. So we pick 19th in the first, 18th in the second, 17th in the third, 16th in the fourth, 15th in the fifth, 14th in the sixth, and 13th in the seventh. So 19, 50, 74 (from CAR), 81, 112, 143, 174, 205.

I hate garbage time at the end of games and the season, especially when stars get hurt with nothing to play for. ** I guess he was playing for something, according to Pro Football Reference, Urlacher had 992 tackles coming into the game for his career, and ended the game with 8 tackles, so congrats to him for 1,000 tackles! **
