  1. Yeah, but you can't just change one event (especially in the first game of the season) and not have anything else affected. The entire course of the season would've been changed.
  2. Damn, Singletary as a Linebackers coach, and McDaniels possibly as the OC. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/rumors/post/Mc...?urn=nfl-304558
  3. This is crazy. With one game the entire dynamics of the playoffs have changed. We have Bears fans rooting for GB, and there is a good chance it could be GB at CHI for the NFC Championship. Wouldn't that be something? I agree, Seattle and it is not even close. Vick is just too dangerous.
  4. Actually that is a tough schedule. The records are pretty deceiving. I would say Minnesota, Detroit, and Denver will all be better than their records indicate. The only gimme game I see is Carolina at home. Also, since we play GB twice, it is 8 games vs winning teams and 7 games vs playoff teams. That is more like a 9 to 10 win season.

    Optimistic

Well, based on the format, we will get the best team from the WC round, so that will be either NO or PHI. The only way we get GB is if SEA and GB both win, which is very unlikely. Now based on that, we already beat Vick and will have him at home again. For NO, they just put Ivory on IR, so they will have less of a running attack and will be playing in Chicago. I believe both of these matches are favorable for us with a week off. For the NFC Championship, we are only on the road vs Atlanta, and would be at home vs NO (if they and PHI won the WC round) or GB (if they and NO won the WC round). So we can only play GB in the NFC Championship, and can only play PHI in the Divisional Round, and can play NO in either round depending on who win the PHI/GB game. For some reason I am starting to think ATL is going to lose, and a win for us gives us a home game for the NFC Championship. At that point I would have to say "why not us?"

  8. All that matters to me is who we play first. If Philly wins we play them, if GB wins, we play NO. It looks like the only given in the first round is New Orleans. The other three games can go either way and I wouldn't be surprised.
  9. With the Bears winning the NFC North, and coming in as the #2 seed into the playoffs with a bye, what would they have to do to deem this season as a success?

    Brandon Manu...

Manu is a joke, a horrible signing, and he has actually made our team worse because Martz puts him in like he is actually going to be effective.
  11. For the 1st seed, it is more than that. We have to have Atlanta and New Orleans both lose and the Bears to win. Atlanta plays Carolina, so I doubt that all plays out. Either way we are at least the #2 seed which is sweet, and our only two opponents can be PHI or NO unless the West winner somehow wins a playoff game. Otherwise, if Philly wins their WC game, they play us, and if Philly loses, NO plays us. We will not see any of the potential 6th seeds unless it is in the NFC Championship. 1. ATL 2. CHI 3. PHI 4. STL 5. NO 6. GB/TB/NYG
  12. If Cutler and the O-Line were playing like that all season we would probably be 13-2 or 14-1 right now.
  13. I think he is in the running, but others like Spagnuolo - STL, Morris - TB, Haley - KC will be in the mix for their teams improvements and Belichick and Reid will probably be in there too.
  14. In all of this, it is nice to win a game when the defense was off. We missed a FG and had a Pick-6 against us, and still won.
  15. The conditions were so bad against NE that there was no way a scheme like the Cover-2 was going to be effective. The Patriots offensive scheme+field conditions were the perfect storm against the Cover-2. The Bears were ill-prepared and got teabagged in the first half. At least they outscored them in the 2nd half
  16. I also like the fact that we rebounded from that brutal NE loss, and have now strung together some solid wins.

    Packer Week

There are still so many scenarios alive in the NFC coming down to this final week. Almost every game has playoff implications in the NFC, but our game seems to be the biggest because a win for us gives us the 2nd seed and a loss puts GB into the playoffs and more than likely makes us the 3rd seed which would mean we would play them the following week (NO @ West winner, GB @ CHI, PHI/ATL Byes). There is still an outside chance that we get the 2nd seed if Philly loses 1 of their next 2, especially with them playing 2 games in 5 days. I would love to get the Bye either with a win or a Philly loss because we would more than likely get New Orleans in Chicago (after they beat the West winner), and Atlanta would get the winner of Philly and GB/NYG/TB.
  18. Yeah, the link text was titled "NFC's Big Fraud". That dude is a joke. He does realize we are 7-1 since our Bye Week, and lost two other games by 3pts. Even against NYG, it was only 3-0 at half. We made significant strides after the Bye Week and continue to get better. Look at New Orleans, where are the doubters? Only 2 wins against teams with winning records, and 2 losses vs teams with losing records. How about Tampa? All their wins against teams with losing records, and they loss to Detroit. We also beat a red-hot Eagles team and beat GB before all their injuries.
  19. That was almost the Cover-3 with Urlacher taking the deep middle, Harris had to only worry about the sideline and not the middle of his side of the field. Either way, I thought the O-Line played very solid allowing only 2 sacks which were really coverage sacks. Forte running hard, Hester with more long returns, and Cutler coming back strong in that 3rd quarter. 21-10 in the 2nd half and that was with the missed FG, so good halftime adjustments.
  20. Wow, man that was close, but a win is a win. We missed a short FG and threw a Pick-6 and still won, so I will take it.
  21. Wow, he doesn't know what to do with all the time.
  22. Well, if we don't get the 2nd seed and a bye, we are the 3rd seed and will play the last Wild Card team. That means New Orleans (1st Wild Card) gets to play the West winner. We get NYG, GB, or TB at home.
  23. Horrible throws by Cutler right now, and the protection is pretty good.
  24. Where was the progression on that? Good protection and he throws to his first read, an out into double coverage. Wow, that was brutal.
